This place always has a looong line out the door, but I decided to make some time to try it out. The line actually went by super fast, so don't let it intimidate you... you definitely need to try Cream Pan! Of course, I HAD to order the strawberry custard croissants, and I also picked up some other pastries--the Boston cream donut, the orange chocolate muffin, and the raspberry cream pastry. I also got a couple of savory items--the pork steam bun and a spicy tuna musubi. The strawberry croissants are amazing--I devoured it in like 3 bites lmao. The croissant is airy with lots of layers and is lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar. The light texture of the bread goes so nicely with the creamy custard and the tangy-sweet taste of the strawberries. Its not too sweet at all--absolutely delicious. The other pastries were a mixed bag. The orange chocolate muffin is absolutely delicious--very unassuming in appearance--very brick-like in density and appearance. But once you start eating it, the inside texture is so unique--tiny little cubes of bread (croissant dough maybe?) and chocolate chips make up the inside. The raspberry cream pastry was pretty good, its kind of like a mini pie/strudel, although the raspberry jam was a little too tart for my taste. As for the Boston cream donut--not a huge fan. It is a very dense, heavy, greasy dough that absorbs a ton of oil. Inside is a custard and it is covered in a hard shell of chocolate. The flavors are good, but the dough is just way too heavy. As for the savory items--very simple but delicious! I loved the steam bun--such a soft fluffy texture, no toughness to the bread at all, and the filling was juicy and rich in flavor. The spicy tuna musubi was simple and tasty--a classic.. but it is a little tiny. Overall, Cream Pan is pretty bomb. Not all items are winners, but there are definitely a couple gems in their selection of goodies, and they definitely deserve 5 stars :) read more

Arrived at location at 2pm, everything popular was gone. You look at cases and tell Clerk what you. Want as the line continuously is moving, hard to remember pastry names by time you hit register. I had to get back in line and memorizes pastry names. Was told by another Customer that they open at 5am and the line is out the door! Drove all the way from San Diego to Tustin for this bakery. The first two are filled with a custard, like fill in croissant, the bars with banana and strawberry and a chocolate drizzle in the middle, like a stripe all the way up, makes these delicious! This is a Japanese bakery that serves a variety of pastries, Japanese breads, and coffees. From what i observed, the strawberry croissants and nikuman/an man(steamed pork bun/steamed red bean bun) were the most popular. We tried the yakisoba-pan, nikuman, and strawberry croissant. All of them were absolutely delicious, the strawberry croissant was flaky and had a light custard. The nikuman was the softest steam bun we ever tried. The yakisoba-pan was a strange choice but turned out to be better than i expected, it was a soft bun filled with yakisoba noodles. The quality and texture of the bread is incomparable. The workers are kind and helpful , and can speak English and Japanese. There are few seats inside, so the majority of people get takeout. I visited around 8am and there was a line going out the door, but it moved quickly. Short Story: Get the chicken curry! Long Story: I came here on a Tuesday morning for their famous chicken curry and sandwiches! I was not disappointed. I got there around 11am and there was a small line. It moved pretty fast and I was able to order in about 5 min. The staff there makes the chicken curry after you order so it's hot and fresh. The chicken and rice was plentiful. I got the spicy curry but it was not really spicy for me. The curry was a bit thick so I ate lots of rice with it. But it's excellent for the price! Understanding this review will not put a dent in their 4+ star reviews...but on behalf of my 68 yr old mother I am posting for her. She refuses to go back to Cream Pan, they are very rude. Think Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. Yes, we get they're busy and there's a line. But they just treat customers like herding cattle. She wanted to order curry but it wasn't 9:30 am. (9:15ish). She didn't know there was a "start" time. She asked if she could just pay for it but they could put the order through at 9:30. Flat out no. She returned to car, waited for 15 minutes, tried to order at cashier. They told her rudely she was cutting and to go back of the line. But she had already waited through the line the first time....She also could not call the order in. Bottom line is, it's freaking curry rice. If you want to help the lady or not, there are polite ways to redirect. You can just be courteous and not talk to people like they're inconveniencing you. Maybe they'll actually come back for your slivers of strawberries. If you don't want to be in service - find another job. There are lots of them out there. read more

The hype is warranted. Tbh I'm not a croissant kind of girl at all, but I've been eyeing this place on Yelp a little too religiously. Something about the cream and strawberries drew me in. And the 45 minute drive has been a deterrent, but finally decided to pull the trigger today. The strawberry and cream croissant is SO good. The croissant is airy and fresh and crisp. The cream is also light and soft, not overwhelmingly sweet like a lot of places. The strawberries were ripe. Just a high quality pastry hands down. I also got the strawberry banana pastry, which was decent. I wasn't really a fan of the Nutella in it, and due to it being a flat pastry the layers are more dense. But the strawberries and bananas were also ripe, so that was yummy. Overall I would definitely come back here again! There's no comparable croissant in the SGV as of right now. Also, It seems like the lines come in waves and fluctuates. When I entered there was barely a line, but when I left there was a line out the door! Current favorite right now is the AN DONUT ($2.10), which is a red-bean filled donut that is sugar-dusted. Simply guiltily amaaazing. Contrary to popular opinion, their PAN AU RAISIN ($2.80) is the tried-and-true pastry in my book. There's a hint of a custard filling, and what's unique is that they incorporate golden raisins! Pro tip: Pop it in the air fryer at home and you'll have THE most aromatic toasted pastry to pair with some good coffee! Me and my family go there often whenever we drive to Anaheim because they got delicious Japanese pastry and the workers are respectful. The more it gets late the longer the line will be so I recommend you to go immediately whenever it's open. It is very crowded and I don't consider it a good place to sit and eat but you can take out the bread//pastries//cake. read more

We got there around 1 pm on a weekend and there was already quite a long line. Don't get intimated by it though! It moved pretty fast and the staffs were very professional and friendly. The parking was easy and also free. We ordered strawberry croissants and strawberry banana croissants. Though the strawberry banana croissants were pretty good, the strawberry croissants were on another level!! Seriously, it was one of the best strawberry croissants I've ever had. One of the best bakeries I've been to. The wait of 15-20 minutes to order was absolutely worth the wait (plus there's abundant outdoor seating since most people get take-out). The strawberry cream croissant is their most popular item here. The custard is thick and sweet sandwiched inside of a crispy croissant. I loved their chicken katsu sandwich! The bread was thin and fluffy, and we enjoyed it so much we bought a loaf of their white bread to go! Picking it up from the fridge makes for a wonderful, quick meal. The pork bao also had one of the softest buns I've had in a bao. The inner layer of the soft bun soaked up the pork juice just the right amount. So here it is! I agree with some yelpers that the bakery is dated but they serve amazing pastries. I have not had their sandwiches, so I can't comment about those. Having said that, regardless of what time of day you walk in, rest assured there would be something freshly baked coming out of oven as you walk in. If you there an hour before closing, you are less likely to wait in line. The employees are always polite and nice. I admire their positive attitude despite how busy they get on a regular basis. Really, there isn't much I can add to the thousands of reviews already up. I love the spicy fish egg sushi roll, breakfast spam musubi sushi and strawberry croissants. Their quality control is insane. In the years and dozens of visits I've had, everything has been perfect. I've been dying to pick up a loaf of Brioche but they sell out of that early, so hopefully someday I'll get to try it. If you haven't tried it, absolutely worth the hype.
