We love this place. Friendly service even though they were super busy. Really well cooked food. We love the French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, corned beef hash, monte Cristina sandwich and fried zucchini. It's a little bit run down on the inside but the food is certainly serviceable but not unbelievable... This is our "go to" place in Crestline. Service is always friendly and staff making us feel welcomed. Portions are large so hubby and I share most entrees. Their soups are delicious as well as pretty much everything else. Prices are extremely reasonable. You may have to wait on the weekends in season but counter seating is the way to go. ENJOY. I noticed after sitting for awhile, people were not eating, just waiting. Seemed very slow for the amount of people working in there. When you ask, if I want more tea, and you come back with it, and I say thank you, uh huh, is not the reply. That made me very pissed. That being said, I had a salad, it was big, very good. The wife and me shared there burger with bacon, that also was very good. Comes with all the fixings. The bathroom is small, made for one person at a time, so the wait sucked. Got tired of waiting, went down to the lake and used the lakeside bathroom. Good food if you have time to wait. Everyone was nice, except for the girl that brought me my tea. Been here twice. Better then the previous restaurant, Billy Bears. However, not a large choice in food. Service was not good. Problem is they took out the center divider and now it's to noisy. No hostess per se so the wait staff assumes the other has taken a name down and you wait half the time to get your name on a wait list. People leave many tables open but they take 5'10 min just to get someone over to bus the table so you keep waiting to be seated. Once seated they take a while to get your drink order. Get food order in and both times my food was cold. Second soggy. Coffee not refilled. Kinda just slacking. Not worth it for mediocre food. read more

Been coming to Crestline Cafe for years with groups of friends and family and I've always been very happy with the food and service, but this week I really had to take the extra time to give a shout-out to the serving staff, specially our awesome, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient server Patrick and the super friendly and helpful Daria, even my teen nephew commented on how nice and attentive they were (he doesn't usually pay attention to such things). We had children with us and they were so helpful and incredibly patient when they were being ... "KIDS". We felt very welcomed and comfortable. Will continue to highly recommend to people and bring my family's and friends when they are visiting. Thank you Patrick and Daria for making us feel so welcomed. read more

We spent a few days at Dogwood Campground and decided to eat here for breakfast before we headed back home -- what a pleasant surprise to find such a great local spot with delicious breakfast options. Since we had our dog with us, we were seated on the outdoor patio area. From the waffles to the mountain climber and the breakfast burrito - my entire family thoroughly enjoyed their meals. This place is reasonably priced and the staff here is friendly and personable. We highly recommend this spot for a good meal!!! read more

We've been in here twice already and we definitely like it! The service was great! He first time we went, it was so packed! We went on July 4th. It was quite a wait but the hostess did her best to get us a table as soon as she could. The food was good, too! The first visit, I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. That was good although my husband tried it and thought the meat was a bit dried. The second visit, we had breakfast. I ordered the half order of waffles, sausage and eggs. It was good! Arrived on a Saturday morning and we were seated with in approximately 10 minutes. The staff was friendly but they were certainly not staffed for a busy morning and were greatly overwhelmed. After being seated there was a little wait to be welcomed and drinks served....then the real wait began. It was approximately 50 minutes from the time are order was taken until our food was delivered to the table. During that time we saw multiple tables leave/walkout and most other tables were visibly frustrated. They literally had 1 lady taking orders. She was somewhat assisted by another employee trying to bus tables, refill drinks and keep people hopeful that their food might arrive soon. On more than one occasion we witnessed the waitress taking phone orders while seated tables were left unaddressed, completed food orders sat in the window....this IS NOT THE TIME TO FIELD PHONE ORDERS WHEN YOUR TABLES ARE AVERAGING 90minutes times. When our food did arrive...it was good . The review may seem a little negative....don't get me wrong...the staff was friendly and the food was good. This certainly could have just been a bad for them. It was good to see the staff maintain a friendly attitude through all of it. read more

This place is so nice and cozy the food was amazing. I highly recommend the country steak and eggs! The waitresses are nice there was no wait time to be seated. our food was ready in about 15-20 minutes which is not bad because it was a Saturday morning and it was kinda full.
