Food was meh for the price , $23 for a small grilled cheese ,onion rings and fries (which the fried did not come out until significantly after all the other food came out, Service was terrible we had to ask for parts of our meal and silverware even after we were served our food and walked away from, empty drink glasses the whole time and not offered boxes despite having full plates of food leftover eventually just had to walk up to the register with the whole plate and ask the man standing there who wasn't our server for a box. We noticed other people in the restaurant being waited on by the same waitress were getting MUCH better service I don't know if it was because we are young women in our 20's with no children (because it seemed like the tables with children got the best service) or that we were the only people of color in the whole restaurant you tell me. The first thing I got was my milkshake it had a odd metallic taste and smell like a burnt out blender motet. The kids burger was good but had mayo on it fyi. The cali chefs salad was huge and filled with meat and cheese, if you are at all worried about still being hungry after your Salad, like I often am, you need not worry it will fill you up guaranteed. Oh my god the waiting is killing me. I ordered my food 25 mins. ago - it's getting close to closing time and our food is nowhere in sight. I wanna go to bed! I'll finish this review if and when I see my food. Update- the waitress called me out pretty much immediately after I posted the above but that's okay, I can take it. The food is actually pretty darn good here. The portions are very good. They'll make you an ice cream sundae and make you feel like a kid again. Children are welcome here. Came here a few weeks ago for some good old breakfast when I escaped to the mountains for a weekend with my boyfriend. It was a really really nice restaurant. Came early enough before the crowds. They had an amazing cherry French toast. They had a good variety of syrups to choose from. The waitress was busy but super pleasant. The only bummer thing is that the credit card machine was down and had to walk to the atm right behind the building to pull out money. Overall very pleasant restaurant. BEWARE THE FISH My girlfriend and I ate at this cafe yesterday morning, and 24 hours later I'm being pummeled by food sickness. I had the fish and chips, which wile tasting alright seemed off in retrospect. It wasn't the freshest fish, which I understand coming from a place with such a large menu. The burger my girlfriend had was great, and the fries were crispy and delicious. The servers are ALL really great! Crestline cafe has the best Impossible burger I've ever had. The bun is just right, toasted and sturdy. They have really good fries here too. And I don't know how hard it is to make iced tea at a restaurant, but theirs is always delicious. I don't eat meat, but my husband does, and he loves the birria tacos! He gets them on Mondays only. I recently moved to crestline and have eaten at the Cafe several times and the food is always delicious and amazing.

We came here after hiking around Lake Gregory Regional Park, it looked like there was a bit of rush but we were seated right away! The server had great customer service, there were a few times that something had slipped their mind but all in all, they were amazing! The food is what makes me give it 3 stars; my mother, her fiancé, and I all ordered 3 different meals and we like to have a variety to try each other's dishes. The eggs Benedict was a bit too soggy for me, I only ate one biscuit and left the other one on the plate at the restaurant but the first bite wasn't bad! 5.5/10; I'd say. The mountain climber I believe was hefty, hearty, and filling! With potatoes, cheese, bacon, and the goods spilling out across the skillet dish smelled great. Same with the Benedict however, we got sick of the flavor quick. 6/10, you can't really hate a potato you know? The Garden scramble was completely devoured! My mother's fiancé prefers not to eat meat so this was a veggies centered dish. He said it was a good meal and I'd give it a 7/10! Tl;dr! Breakfast being the most (scrumptious) important meal of the day, I wish they served it past 3pm. But, how can you be mad at these people?! It was extremely difficult to choose between all of the interesting concoctions but we decided on the classic eggs Benedict with hash browns, and eggs n' cognito with country potatoes. Fucking incredible!! Firstly, the portions are super generous, especially for the price. Then, it's all the little things that made a huge difference. Let's talk about the eggs Benedict. I've never seen English muffins this large. Where do you even find these? Do they bake these themselves?? (Are English muffins even baked? I guess they're actually fried on a griddle, but I digress......) Then, they are reallly not messin' around with the girth of this ham steak, which is also not dried out, nor overly salty, but quite tender. I'm so glad that we have this cafe in our small community of Crestline. We order take out every so often when I don't feel like cooking much and we have a few items that we like to rotate between visits. I try to order during the mid week as the weekends can be busy with tourists, when I order during the week I notice a difference in presentation which I can appreciate. My son loves the kids cheese burger, my guy and I usually share the Philly style French dip, and split the grilled chicken salad with dressing on the side. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers but for the most part I order a regular crestline burger with bacon, avocado and grilled onions.
