This place is really close to my work and the sandwiches/salads are great so I usually come here at least twice a week. My favorites are the granni apple salad and the mandarin chicken salad. The salads are pretty fresh and they give you a good size portion. The small serving size looks like a regular size salad. I always get the Pesto Chicken sandwich on Ciabatta. Can't go wrong with Ciabatta, and the Pesto Mayo they put in there melts between the crisp layers of bread, it's so good! The best deal is to get the sandwich/salad combo which is more than enough food. The customer service here is great and efficient. Like one of the reviewers said, if you come here on Tuesdays they give you a free mini brownie. Those are delicious too and taste like mini chocolate souffles!! If you're in a rush during lunctime, you can call in ahead for pickup, as they are pretty fast and will get you in and out. Tip: This plaza gets really busy between 12-1pm everyday with people from nearby businesses, so come earlier tif you want to find parking. I am ADDICTED to the mixed berry salad!!! It's so good, it almosts tastes like candy. I love coming to this place to get a small salad and soup combo for lunch. Okay this place is so good!! They are quick with the order and service is great. But the salads and sandwiches are especially on point. It's the perfect place to do take out or eat lunch at. Mine and my boyfriend's first time at Croutons and we were not disappointed! We've been looking for a decent soup/salad/sandwich place to replace Panera and Corner Bakery prices with, and this is definitely it. The staff was very friendly even though we walked in about 15 minutes before closing, and our food came out in 5-8 minutes. Good portion sizes. I went here for lunch today for the second time. I ordered the roasted veggie salad with balsamic. The dressing was amazing and salad was very light, even with the goat cheese crumbles which made it. There as roasted eggplant, red pepper, artichoke and plenty of tender greens. For $6.25 for the small portion, I felt like it would have been perfect with just a few strips of chicken on top. Oh well, can't have everything you want in life I guess. Paninis are delicious too. The place gets packed around lunchtime but they get the customers in and out quickly. Parking is terrible if you go between 12 and 1pm. I'll be back to try the soups. read more

I got the chopped salad. The first time I ordered it I changed the dressing to the house balsamic and it was really great. The second time I got it, I just got the dressing that comes with the order on the menu and it was SO bland. I asked for it tossed and I wasn't even sure if there was dressing on it. I have been to Croutons a few times for lunch and I truly can't say anything bad about it. I have gotten the Chicken pesto Panini and the Cesar Salad. Both items I have greatly enjoyed. This is a great lunch spot near John Wayne Airport with huge portions and fair prices. I enjoy their Napa Valley salad and the bbq chicken salad with cornbread croutons, both are just delicious! This place is great! We come here for lunch @ work at least twice a week, it's a little expensive for a "fast food", but you defiantly get what you pay for! I recommend the Californian and the artichoke sandwich. The salads are just your usual salad and I recommend getting half sandwich / half salad as the sandwiches are almost too filling. When Crouton's first opened, I wasn't a fan at all of their salads. It was tasteless and had literally NO dressing on it lol. But after a few months, I think they got the hint and now I can't get enough of Crouton's flatinis and creative salads. My office eats here at least 3 times a week. It's so fresh! Most of the time I do a Choose 2. Little bit of salad and sandwich action. I think the portions are big enough to make two meals out of it. The only thing...it's a little bit pricey. $8.25 but what do you expect for healthy freshness. This by far is one of the best Mediterranean salads I have ever had. Their greek dressing is AMAZING! Love this place! So happy to have discovered it a few months back as I now frequent it a couple of times a week since it's so close to my office. The food is great - they rotate seasonal soups so there is something new to try every couple of weeks and they don't disappoint, especially the corn chowder. My husband loved it and tried it the next day. He enjoyed it immensely, and we went the next week. I've since tried a smattering of items, but really enjoy the Granny Smith Apple chicken salad.
