The only redeeming quality about this specific Korean spa is the food. And even that took a really long time and I had to leave before one thing I ordered came out and wasted 12 dollars because it took twenty minutes and I had to go to an appointment. Towels are impossible to find here and the wifi doesn't work/cell service is nonexistent. No one respects the rules here so the environment isn't very peaceful. There's only three mineral spas (besides the "cool down room" which isn't very cold) and everyone talks and brings food/drinks inside (see photo), which i've never experienced before and I've been coming to Korean spas for quite a while. I purchased a 60 min foot massage and these are usually my favorite part of the experience. It wasn't great. This is a smaller spot compared to some other Koreatown spas. Pros: it wasn't crowded. Arriving around 3pm on a Sunday, I wanted a lower key experience, so went here. Parking is free, which was helpful. The salt room sauna was unique compared to other Korean spas I've been to. The walls were salt blocks and the floor was a ball pit of smooth marble sized salt balls. I enjoyed laying on the floor in that sauna. Cons: it's a fairly small, minimalist spa. There is only one hot tub that is maybe 10'x10'. Other spas have multiple pools and a variety of temperatures. There was less variety here than in some of the larger spas. It was very difficult to get back to my car afterwards. You have to be sure to use the same elevator because there are two different parking garages below the three story building the spa is in. The food and beverages felt pretty overpriced and they didn't have boba (I know boba isn't Korean, but other spas have it and I was craving it). Overall, if you want a quieter, less crowded spot where you'll just stay a couple of hours, go here. read more

My husband and I went for a spa date and I was excited/nervous to come here because it's my husband's first time in a day spa and my first time in a spa for both men and women. We both had a 70-min body scrub and massage His overall experience was okay, though a little bit "shocking" because it's basically his first time! Anyway I can just tell you more about my experience. First of all, choosing a Korean Spa was a bit hard since they all have mixed reviews. I just went ahead and decided to try Crystal spa so I gave them a call and booked our appointments 2 days prior to our visit. It was easy to set up and appointment and the staff that I spoke with seemed nice and friendly. Fast forwad to today, our spa day. Upon entering, we were greeted by their front desk staff, and yes, they're nice and friendly. Paid for our services up front ($105 each) before entering then one of them guided us through everything we needed to do. The women's bathroom, shower area, tubs, and locker room, were all clean. The common area, cafe and common rooms were also nice and clean, however, I wasn't able to fully relax since there were a few people using their phones even if there's a no phone sign in some areas. Now the scrub and massage. I have done this before elsewhere and this is why I'm only giving them 3 stars. (It's just actually 2.7 lol). The lady who did my scrub and massage had heavy hands. It felt like she doesn't like her job. I just wanna point out that during the massage, she was very very fast, tough and careless on some parts that need delicate pressure like the neck and back (spine area). So the massage in general, was not relaxing at all. Also, she kept talking to me in Korean when she knows that I am not Korean or do not speak Korean. So whenever I don't understand her, she repeats it in English, but in a not so good tone. Last but not the least, the worst part of my time with her was when she blew her nose after applying my face mask. I know there's running water everywhere but please go to the restroom if you need to :( Are we coming back? Not sure. Maybe we'll try other spas. It's not that bad to be completely honest. The massage felt very rushed and aggressive, but without getting deeper into the muscles at all. I wanted to check out some other spas in Koreatown other than Wi Spa. I had heard that Crystal Spa was a lot smaller but cleaner on average. I went a few times and had a good experience. Yes, the pool areas are a little smaller than other spas I've been to, but I liked that it wasn't as crowded. However, during my last visit, I had an upsetting incident where the woman who was giving me a full body scrub made several comments about how much dead skin I had...in Korean. She didn't realize I was Korean American (even though I greeted her in Korean) and could understand all of the comments she was saying under her breath and then to one of her co-workers. Why do you think I booked a full body scrub?? Towards the end of my treatment, the woman was washing my hair and made another comment about how much hair I had. I made a complaint at the front desk to the manager about the worker's unprofessional comments and they said they will be talking to her (worker's name is Lisa). I have not gone back and will probably not go back for awhile. Also, during this same visit, more than 50% of the showers were blocked off and one or two of the showers were clogged. read more

For $30 this is a steal, i loved the rotation of different hot rooms and than cold room. It was so relaxing i fell asleep a few times. The steam room is definitely a challenge and then dipping into the cold plunge after was quite an experience. By the time I left i felt revitalized. Overall great experience. read more

I went here the other day on Wednesday. $20.00 on Wednesdays and all other days $30.00. I don't think it's luxurious for $30.00. It is it very very small . They do sell Aveda products , but they didn't have what I wanted. I'm not sure if they take my aveda account to get my points I forgot to ask. I think the shower soap was Aveda, and they had one men's hair cream on the counterintuitive the Men's side . One thing I noticed is that on the men's side there are no lockers for your shoes. The sauna and steam room are hot enough to melt your skin. I can't imagine staying long and relaxing there. One plus side there is no one around or kids. If you want to lose weight you will by the extremely hot sauna and steam room . There is parking in the structure P1 for 2 hours or less , P2 for more than 2 hours. When I went the bar was open which didn't make a difference. My over all experience is I probably wouldn't go back . I don't live around there . Customer service has really diminished here. I had an appt for 10am, arrived at 930 to be told that masseuse took another person and my massage is now at 11. I didn't have that much free time today to wait around. I wanted to book the massage for another day and they refused to comp me for a quick soak in the tub. They always have a new front office person who screws up appts (today's not the first time) and not empowered to help with customer service. It's really a management problem. My first time at Crystal Spa and it was pretty good. The women's section is clean and quiet. I enjoyed a 90 minute Swedish massage followed by a 60 minute foot massage. Both masseuses were males and very good with the pressure. I was in a bit of muscle pain the next day but it was the good kind of pain. I will be back. read more

The Crystal Spa in L.A. Korea Town is the go to Korean Spa for many reasons. Convenience, Reasonable prices, Great service, Wonderful amenities, even a place to hang out if you want (Co-ed, but everyone is wearing a standard uniform), and a restaurant (Pretty good- yum). If you go earlier, there is an early bird special entry fee although I haven't been able to take advantage yet. But good to know they have that! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff are friendly, the masseuses are OK- scrub therapy: you have to tell them "mild, medium, or strong"- I prefer mild, because I don't want to be peeled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The massages- I thought that could improve a bit...I always wonder whether they got training... recently I'm beginning to prefer Thai massages (now, they know what they are doing!) but the facials that come with most massages are EXCELLENT! When they wash your hair, they also massage your scalp, but I feel they are too strong/rough..I suppose I can tell them to take it easy, but too relaxed to complain (?) I visited Crystal Spa on a Sunday and wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I liked it! I was worried about it being too busy but it wasn't at all. The woman who I paid walked me through the spa and gave me a tour when I told her it was my first time. Overall, I found the facilities to be clean and well-maintained. The food was really good (I got the rice cake soup), people followed the rules, and it was relatively quiet. I would say this feels medium-sized in regards to other Korean spas I've been to. They have a good selection of rooms in the coed area, and the women's side has a hot tub, a cold tub, a steam room, and a sauna. Nothing super fancy, but it's straight forward and taken care of. Pros: -You get two hand towels and a regular towel. Most places just give you one, so it's nice to have another one to use as a hair towel. -The uniforms are on shelves so you can just grab whatever your size is. -The food is great here and the rice drink is also good! -The pools are fairly large, so it's not awkward when a bunch of people are in them. -Free parking on the second basement floor! -Free toothbrushes are available. Cons: -The women's steam shower has a bit of a funky smell. -On Sunday nights, the coed rooms tend to get a bit busy. Separate places for drying your hair and lotion area (using Aveda products). One hot tub, ice tub, steam room & dry sauna. There is also "relaxing room" for people taking naps. On the co-ed area, there is a cafe selling drinks and food. There are ice room, red mud room, salt room and charcoal room. The facilities are very clean. The Parking: 6 hours parking validation. Underground parking (2 floors). B2 has lots of parking spaces!!! There is escalator to the ground floor and elevator to the spa on 3rd floor. ** The spa is on the 3rd floor in the City Center. Many retailers, restaurants and a Korea market. Since there are 6 hours free parking, why not do some shopping too!! read more

Horrible experience. Made a reservation a week in advance, show up and was told someone else took my reservation and told them they were me. I showed them my ID and yet they still said that I couldn't get a service until an hour and a half later. Apparently the other lady who took my reservation yelled at them and so they couldn't honor reservation but serviced the walk in instead. Been going here for 5 years and appalled by the experience. I usually come here for the spa (jacuzzi, ice bath, sauna, steam room) and Korean body scrub / massage and it's my favorite thing to do on a weekend. The scrub is the best thing I've discovered for my skin and it's at a great price here. I've also had a facial and although I had blood spots all over my face but my skin did look incredible days later. If you're considering the facial build in some time if you have an event coming up. TERRIBLE!!! The facilities for women are not clean, rusty, and even had caution tape on some of the showers. The whole time there I felt uncomfortable and not peaceful at all. I got the body scrub and deep tissue massage and it was not what I expected. The body scrub was in a room with all the lights on and the women doing the services talked loud the whole time...how is that relaxing?! Then my deep tissue was not a deep tissue at all but instead acupressure. They don't use oil or lotion to massage just press on your muscles. That's not what I asked or paid for so I was extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this place AT ALL to anyone looking for a good spa facility. The pictures make it seem like it's peaceful and clean, but it's actually filthy and a shit show. read more

The massage was weird mostly they just cover you in a bunch of oil and kinda move your skin around very aggressively. Not very relaxing or helpful in terms of muscle relief. My bf and I got the same mine was ok but he said his was so uncomfortable and painful, I wasn't going to write a review until we realized he got AN AWFUL staff infection on the back of his legs from it. I'll spare you the gross photos but it's really bad and painful and he has to go to urgent care tomorrow to get it checked out. Disappointing to say the least, the staff was nice enough but this was not great nor worth the price which is the same as nicer more luxurious feeling better places. I called at 5:25 PM on a Monday, requesting a body scrub and massage for 70 minutes. They asked me to come in at 6 PM for my appointment. I'm giving this place five stars because of the service, care and thoroughness that was given to me while I attended Crystal spa. I have been to a few Korean spas before, but this was my first time visiting Crystal spa and I will return again. Upon me arriving, I was greeted warmly by front desk staff who showed me the protocols of their space. I then was given towels and a wristband and went into the main women's locker area, where I undressed and prepared to enter the shower and pool areas. I started with a shower then went to the hot tub to soak for a while before my number was called for my service. I'm always a little nervous before doing body scrubs because of the intimacy but the masseuse who worked on me was so professional and had the best pressure throughout the whole service. I was not expecting the facial or the hair washing but it totally elevated the experience -- it was amazing. After my 70 minutes service, I sat in the dry sauna for about 30 minutes before showering and putting on the spa uniform before heading to the common area. In the common area I enjoyed the salt room, the charcoal roam and the cool down room, and I even received a 40 minute foot massage, which was the best foot massage of my life, literally the best! When I woke up this morning, I felt so light. My body felt limber and I just feel like I can take on anything and I love this feeling. This spa is not a state of the art place, but that is made up for with their friendliness and awesome services. If they continue to keep the facilities and floors clean -- I will definitely keep returning. I hope their business continues to grow and over time they can upgrade certain areas of their facilities... but that can only be done if we continue to support. The only thing I would do differently is bring some shower shoes, or if they sold some in the front that would be great too! Nice that it was pretty empty on a Saturday night! Came here w my gf, got the body scrub package for $65 total. Make sure to bring cash to tip the scrubbers--they work hard! The rooms are fine: salt, wood/charcoal, clay, and a cool down room. We liked the salt room and sweated it out in there for a while. Men's side had a steam room, hot tub, and cold tub. Women's side had the same + a dry room. All toiletries were available! Towels were kinda small but did the job. Overall everything was basically a 3-4/5 for the experience, definitely happy with it at the end of the day we both left feeling relaxed and well rested! Crystal Spa is similar to Natura Spa, the [formerly] other mall-located K-spa in LA, in that it, while functionally complete, is somewhat small. Six sit-down shower stations (two blocked by yellow Caution tape), eleven stand-up showers (four taped off), one hot tub that's a little tight and on the shallow side (my nipples were 3" above the water level), plus a cold plunge, steam room, dry sauna, and a locker room with mirrors and standard vanity facilities. The jjimjilbang is about 1/4 the size of Wi - 1/3 of Spa Palace and Century - but they have three themed hot rooms, a cold room, recliners and massage chairs, a restaurant, and big screens airing American and Korean fare. They have uniforms for the jjb, hand towels for sitting/drying, and a cold water dispenser. Parking in the adjacent structure is a little confusing, but it's available. It's clean and cozy, and they offer discounted passes and memberships. Plus, there are lots of Koreans, so everybody speaks quietly and follows the K-spa program.... unlike basically everyplace else that other races have discovered and seem hell-bent on besmirching. As a white guy with 13+ years of k-spa experience under my birthday suit belt, few things irk me more than ignorant amateurs wearing towels, bling, shorts/underwear, and not showering. Those not man enough to handle the dress code should go somewhere that caters to shame and low self-esteem. read more

I had an amazing facial with Grace the aesthetician at Crystal spa. I had other facials before but she is really good. She's very gentle and super nice. Her products and equipments are all up to date. I did a deep cleaning facial and my face feels so clean and tight. My pores gots so much smaller and she removed all my black heads. Must must try the deep cleaning with pore tighten package. Btw, I live in Fullerton and I definitely drive to Crystal Spa for my monthly facial with Grace. I was gunning to #treatmyself on the night before my birthday with a nice trip to the spa. After researching my options in Ktown, I chose Crystal Spa due to their Wednesday special and because they have a gym. For reference, I've been to Wi Spa and Spa Palace as well as some other spas in Dallas. Gym: The gym is pretty small but has enough to work with. There are four cardio machines (2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike that didn't work) as well as a couple of machines that target certain muscles. On top of that, they have poorly labeled free weights and a squat rack/deadlift area. When I came in, there seemed to be a gym attendant that was training a male patron. The squat rack was pretty limited in weights, but I'm pretty sure it's because the gym attendant has to pull out the equipment from the backroom. Kinda annoying because you have to ask him for different handles and weights on certain machines. The gym at Wi Spa has no attendant (exercise at your own risk), so there is more freedom there. The gym definitely was not my favorite part of the spa since the equipment seemed old and the attendant was honestly an impediment to my workout. Locker room: Clean, no complaints here. Shower area: Clean, no complaints. The conditioner they have is pretty good too, and they give out free scrubby rags, toothbrushes, etc. Main room: A lot smaller than Wi Spa or Spa Palace. It was nice on a Wednesday, but I imagine that weekends could get very crowded. The clientele is more older Korean folk than the other two places. I think this helps Crystal Spa avoid hygiene issues that are caused by people wearing their shoes and sandals in the common areas (the reason why Wi Spa has free slippers now). JJB: There are only 3 hot rooms that ranged from 45° to 55°. Definitely not the hottest temperatures but enough to make you sweat. They're simple rooms and not as fancy as other spas but get the job done. Overall, Crystal Spa is a good alternative to the bigger JJB's in town. The area where the specialty rooms are is coed so you have to wear clothes which is ok but I do prefer an all women's spa for that reason. Overall would definitely recommend it. read more

Solid, apparently new, JJB now that Wi Spa is an LA attraction for tourists. This place is definitely MUCH smaller than Wi Spa and other JJBs I've been to, but perfect for an early morning/solo spa trip. The atmosphere is much quieter than other places I've been, so I definitely wouldn't bring friends here, but it's nice that they have aveda products in bathroom among a few other nice amenities (e.g. free loofah/scratchy towels!). Located on the top floor of the civic center (so you don't get lost like I did), there's validated parking on the bottom floor and a decent amount of street parking on week days. read more

after reading reviews, I decided to come here while I was waiting for a delayed flight. I got the gold body treatment. After checking in and paying, they gave me a bracelet with a number. This also doubled as a hair tie for later. I was taken to the corresponding locker. Everyone disrobes completely which is usual for a jimjilbang. Then you enter the shower room and rinse off. There's a jacuzzi, cold pool (which I skipped), a cedar dry sauna, and a steam room. I arrived 40 mins early from my appointment time to relax in those rooms. I think 30 mins is enough, but 40 is good too. There's also a common room that is clothed (they have scrubs for you to wear there) and coed. In the common room there are floor mats, a little restaurant with bibimbap etc and massage chairs. When it was time for my appointment, the ajeema called my number and got to scrubbing. If you've never done this before, they will scrub EVERY nook and cranny. Yes even those. Then she washed my face and hair. Then I rinsed off and she prepared the gold wrap thing. She rubbed me all over with the special oil/lotion thing and babyswaddled me in the gold wrap. Then she put on a cucumber mask. After laying a bit, that was all washed off and then the massage came. It was the best/roughest? Massage ever. I don't know how to describe it. It was like the scrub which was vigorous except in massage form. She got all my knots. I think Ajeemas are the strongest people in the world. I came out super relaxed. 100% recommend. Never been this relaxed after a massage before. read more
