Seems like they are trying to make the Wendy's of Cuban food, inside its all a cheesy fast food looking color scheme, they have a nice system that pumps out food fast and the restaurant looks extra clean. The Cuban sandwich was ok -- it's definitely fast food quality, and you'd be far better served by grabbing something from the window at La Carreta for the same price. The mariquitas were decent but the portion was miniscule, and the ham croquetas were downright awful -- the first couple were dry and disgusting and had obviously been sitting around for a while. Here is an update. Food was still really good and service was much improved. They took my phone order and when I picked up it was all correct. The staff is friendly and food was fast. The Fritas are good cause they are not too greasy like other places. Fried yucas are excellent. I was really looking forward to this place, and I wasn't completely disappointed to be straight forward. However, It was nothing to brag about. I had the pan con lechon and the flavor was good and the price was where it should be, but it just lacked... I think the main shortcoming of this sandwich was the julienne fries which were tasteless. My wife had the vaca frita bowl and it was great, I love how they incorporate the maduros in cubed chunks, but again they put those tasteless julienne fries in there. We also had the yuca frita which you can all skip, it was a waste. Again, I wasn't completely disappointed with the meal, it was just mediocre though. They also no longer have the churros or Oreo churros I was hoping to get, despite there being pictures of them in the store and here on yelp. Very disappointed at this spot . The girl prepping my order , was opening the sandwiches (to tell ingredients) and touching the food with her hands. There are not enough positive words to express how wonderful the food and service was from the Cuban Guys Sunset location! The Manager, Alissa, was extremely helpful and had a well organized and happy staff. Due to the current climate, we recently held a "Drive-by / Pit-Stop" baby shower for my daughter and decided that offering food to those who joined us for the occasion would be a nice "Thank you". In researching, found Cuban Guys and called. After explaining what we were doing, Alissa cheerfully recommended several options. We chose boxes that included choice of Cuban or Media Noche sandwich (not a 1/2, but a full sized), mini papa rellena and a homestyle, ham croquetta. Not only were the sandwiches traditional (included swiss cheese, pork, ham, etc.), not just the ham/cheese served in other places, they were delicious.....papa rellena and croquetta too!! I received so many positive comments on the food, even from my 90 year old Mom (who doesn't really comment on anything)! Alissa could not have been any more helpful. Since we handled everything over the phone, she took the time to send me picture of receipt, she contacted me to confirm the count and pick up time. They do deliver, however, since we were out and about, decided to pick up. The staff was friendly and made for a very safe and seamless pick up. Cannot thank them enough for their efforts! Awesome food at a great price. The Frita is so delicious that I didn't even have to add condiments to it. After talking a bit with the manager or owner, he even gave me a free dessert!
