I was back at first st storage in less than a month. Haha Eventually I had to wait for a bigger unit to be available but let me say it's worth the wait. If you are looking for a long term storage facility that you will be in and out of i promise you won't find anything better than this. Electricity, clean restrooms, no rats, no bugs, no random people wandering around. Safe, clean, reasonably priced. Most of the bigger units have lofts which is amazing.

Literal scam. Been…read morewith the company for years, and our rate goes up every 6 months or so, and that in itself is fine; inflation and all that. However, we're renting a 10' x 10', upstairs unit for $230+ a month; yet on the website, right now, the EXACT SAME unit is only $180 a month. I called and asked corporate and this location both, and they claimed that the $180 is a "promotional rate". Yet I went all the way to the point of almost signing the contract with an existing account, and despite what they claimed, the rate is STILL $180 per month. The contract itself makes no mention of a "promotional rate" or anything else of that sort. Talking to the in-person office, I got an actual response that made more sense and was more honest than the corporate offices; they said the lower rate is to "make the units more attractive to new customers", which is ridiculous because that's effectively punishing existing, long-time customers. I brought this up to them and they said it's like renting an apartment, except when you rent an apartment, you pay LESS over time than NEW tenants do, because you get grandfathered in on a rate; this is the other way around. On top of that, they said it could be breaking the lease by "abusing promotions" (again even though that rate is NOT a promotion, it's the same rate new and existing customers would get for a new unit), if I were to just switch to the exact same unit for the same size. They eventually gave us a discount for 6 months for $50 or so, but this all but admits that they ARE overcharging us to give us such a discount so willingly. Do not rent from this company, unless you have multiple family members and friends willing to help you swap units to their "promotional" rate every 6 or so months.
