If you're looking for a pool hall in the Almaden area this has been the only location I could think of but it is hidden in the Safeway plaza behind Yogurt Delite and McDonalds and Jack In the Box. But because it is hidden I find that it is usually dead too, though I went on a Tuesday evening. Not the cheapest unless you are playing by yourself $7.5 for 1player/ hr $13ish /hr for 2ppl & $15.75ish/ hr for 3 players. So with the Groupon it is only valid for 2hrs for 1 player. If you have multiple players then you will play for less than 2 hrs. But it doesn't matter, hanging out with friends eating buffalo wings and chilli fries with beer is the way to go. Fries were traditional chilli cheese fries but wings were more juicy n better. Appetizers range from $3.95 to $6. I wish I tried the calamari. Pool Tables, Maxx video game machine, Foosball tables, Darts, and Jukebox. And server was nice. read more

Decided to go out and meet at a place that had a good amount of tables around and just to meet up with friends. When we came here, it was not during a busy time which is great, yet it did have a lot of tables. The parking may be a bit sketchy yet there's plenty of space for a good amount of cars to be parked in front. The prices are decent, among the places I've been to and the vibe is definitely chill all around. If your looking for a pool hall with lots of tables, not to dingy then Cuetopia may be for you. If you come in between 12-4pm the cost is 50% off, it's about $7.25 per hour, otherwise it's $14 or so, they provide chalk and cues. The pool tables are in good condition as are the balls. They have two rooms with a total of 25 pool tables, I saw some football tables too if you're into that. Staff is friendly, clientele when we went we're not too noisy. They have adequate parking but as it is near JoAnn Fabrics next to Safeway, expect some spaces to be taken up by shoppers depending on what time you go. Came here for a fun night out with my husband, brother and uncle. Prices are great. Food we ordered is terrible but what should I have expected from a pool hall. Ordered nachos which incredibly lacked in cheese and only had jalapeños as a topping. I highly suggest you save your money and not order them. Dry and overly salty. Hotdog was a decent size and actually tasted good. Bathrooms remind me of a gas station bathroom you see in the middle of no where. A good place to have fun with your pals but nothing special. Came here on Saturday with a few friends. 8 of us in total. We started with one table and ended up with 2. Split into teams of 4 and then switched about an hour afterwards. Here's the down-low: The Good: Very decent size (lots of tables and plenty of seats and places to keep your drinks/purses). Foosball tables and air hockey tables as well! The drinks are CHEAP! I bought a round of beers for my ladies and it cost under $15! Heck yes!! The price: really decent hourly prices The not so great: The cues. As it's been said, bring your own cue sticks. The ones here have been USED. A LOT. And therefore aren't really straight anymore. Music (they have a jukebox). It's costs .50 to $1 for one song. It can get expensive. :( But I guess I should be happy they have a jukebox at all. Overall, this place is pretty darn awesome. It might be my new billiards hangout. Recommended for sure! read more

With the Campbell pool hall closed for a while now, we come here if we ever want to play pool. It's not usually overcrowded, and there are a good amount of tables, so we never have to wait. The tables and cues are kept in generally good condition, though I do wish their tips were shaped more often. They have a selection of beers on draft and bottles, and the service is friendly. Music is jukebox-driven, as typical for most pool halls. All in all, it's a convenient location, and I can't really complain. read more

It was hot & humid when I was here. If you're a seasoned player it may be a challenge to draw etc. They opened the back door which was nice coz it gave the room a much needed breeze. I gave the tables a C + coz they were in average playable condition. The balls wont roll like on Simonis cloth, but it's still a good time at this place. House cues weren't too bad. I loved the wooden racks, kept my balls nice, tight & perfectly in place ;P Customer service was cool. And the hourly rate is reasonable. Jukebox has a good selection of top 40 rock, r&b, hip hop, & country. I think I saw some Dimmu Borgir in there too. It's pretty clean in here which is always a good thing. This place is a bit nostalgic for me...it was the site of my first date with my boyfriend *tear* ha ha Before coming here, I had never been to a pool hall in my life. In my head thought to myself...its gonna be the typical scene bikers, leather and beer...i didn't if i wanna go...but my friends pressured me to going...i caved in. Once i got there, it was nothing like I had expected...it was a very relaxed atmosphere and it wasn't quite busy. No bikers, no leather...just real people he he. I had never played pool in my life...and i was around what seemed to be pros with their own pool sticks and their own chalk go figure. The owner was always there playing among his clients and was very approachable. Their snack bar is always open and there are always people lounging around to the wee hours of the morning. I was able to learn how to play without any trouble. If you don't know what to do on a sat night and you don't have much money...this is the place for you! read more

Cuetopia is a nice little place, a little hard to find but it has lots of parking. They server food here, well bar style. They take care of their tables and cues, but that's not an issue since I bring my own. They have difference events happening all the time, this is a great chance for you to join teams or competitions. Its also a nice place to hang out with friends and sip some brews. read more

This place is pretty decent. I actually like what they serve. My favorite has to be the Jalapeno Poppers just full of cream cheese. Fantastic. Have your beer and shoot some pool. If you come at night, keep an eye out for the bright blue sign. One of the folks I was with said her local hall was much cheaper and charged per table per hour rather than per person. Rates are pro-rated which is nice. The facility is good, we had a lot of fun here. Biggest downsides were that the lady behind the counter was far from charming (not rude, but I felt like she would have rather had lemon juice squirted in her eyes than be stuck working her shift, and she didn't make an effort to hide that sentiment), there were no food options (it's a cafe with an extensive menu but the night we were there, their options were nachos, hot dogs, or mozarella sticks. They didn't even have fries. How.), and three people for a little over two hours ran a $36 tab without any food or drink. Cool facility, but that seems sort of steep. Overall had a good experience but wouldn't mind trying other halls next time to see how they stack up. read more

You can always find a table here and the snack bar's always open... people tend to stand around outside and smoke or sit in the front room and just loiter... Random synapses flashing from different times of life. I was taken here shortly after I moved back by some friends I used to work with. We had dinner at Hooters, which I was still trying to shake off. We came here to throw stick for awhile. The people at the counter were nice. The guys bought me a beer, all things considered. I didn't like the feeling. As a server, I hated cheap ass mooches. that's what I felt like. I haven't seen a couple of these guys in years and one visited me in Vegas not long before I moved. The pool hall wasn't that crowded, but I liked the environment. They had beer, right? I was listening to the guys talk shop. Almost nothing had changed there over 8 years ago. Same theme park ride stories, a lot redderick with repairs. It was surreal to me. Most everything I unpacked that week was reminding me of the past few years: Checker's, Terrible's in Pahrump, the Boiler Room, that Halloween at 54. Seeing her in the rear mirror as I drove the moving truck away. It was actually cold out. I hated the cold. I moved to the desert to get away from it. It was hotter than hell, but a constant and the dry heat meant I wouldn't get sick as much. I didn't care about the blue chalk on my hands I wanted to go play more some time, but with what money? The job search wasn't going well. I knew the longer it took, the tougher it would be to find a job. And I was applying at a lot of restaurants and stores that I can't bring myself to review, in case it gets back to me somehow. I was never good at geometry. I think I know where to line the ball up, but my arm always drifts out on the swing. I didn't like telling the guys about my situation. It was embarrassing and to me, humiliating. I decided I wouldn't go hang out unless I was able to sell some things online or get a job. i haven't seen them since. I missed Lou. We talked on the phone, but I couldn't hide my sadness anymore. I was braver when we were together, to maintain our apartment and her car and our jobs. I sucked it all up or I blew off steam on my long walks home. I came to this place as a single female just looking to play some pool and be left to my thoughts, and I couldn't have came to a better place for that. I was very thankful that the place wasn't full of creepy old leering guys, young drunk guys, or people that look like they just broke out of prison. I've been to a couple of other pool halls so far since I've moved here, so my reservations about pool crowds aren't unjustified. There was a sort of friendly, family atmosphere here and I was treated like a customer rather than a paycheck, which i really appreciate. This is a great place to go on any day of the week but, the weekends are my favorite. The vibe in the whole building is great and filled with energy. They have 25 high quality full sized tables and balls. They also have beers on tap and in the bottle along with a regular menu of "bar food" from chili cheese dogs to Snickers just Incase your craving something sweet. DON'T go searching for this place after a few beers, especially at night because you'll never find it! theres a jukebox, small arcade room, and about 20 pool tables inside. the prices are a bit steep, around 14 bucks an hour for two people to shoot? draft newcastle was 4.50? a pitcher was 15 even. This is my preferred place to play pool in the Bay Area. You never have to worry whether or not you can get a table, and the rates are some of the best that I've found in the South Bay. The place and equipment is well-maintained. They have machines to clean the pool balls in between sessions. They also have friendly staff and some decent everyday people that just want chill after a day's worth of work. Once upon a time...way long ago, I used to come here on a daily basis. It's our local neighborhood pool hall. Now that I'm older, I just don't seem to make time for it anymore. So when Groupon had a $15 groupon for 2 hours of pool and $15 worth of food/drink, how could I resist? (I actually wished I bought more now). The pool hall itself is clean and spacious. They also have a small arcade, dart board, and foosball tables. Wine and beer were $5/each, but they were the coldest, most refreshing drinks ever. I don't know how pool halls always get their drinks so cold. This is a 4 star establishment, but I'm going to minus a star for the front cashier girl. She was very unfriendly and rude. Tip to the owners, hire someone more friendly to be customer-facing. Reading other reviewers, it seems food/drinks were served to the table for them. But for us, nobody ever came by, not even once. Once, the chick started walking towards us, I thought I could order another drink, but then she made a detour and walked straight to the bathroom. Playing with my emotions yet again. read more

Actually a really good place to shoot pool in South San Jose, probably the largest billiard in that area as well. I have come here a number of times in the past to shoot pool, and find it clean and well equipped to play some fun games of pool. There is usually almost always room for your group to grab a table, but if you want a special table location that might make things a bit harder. They provide a small bar for drinks and snacks, but it is pretty limited and I wouldn't recommended ever even trying the food here. That's like going to a gas station for dinner. This place deserves a solid 4/5 with no contest, because I've been to worse places and appreciate this one. read more

So, after receiving a great deal on Groupon, we jumped on the opportunity to play some pool on a Sunday afternoon. Cuetopia is located on Almaden Expy near Safeway & McDonald's. I never knew this place existed until I got this Groupon. There are a good number of billiard tables available and since it was a Sunday evening, it wasn't very busy. We played about an hour of pool - I won one of those games ;) I would definitely come back to a place like this only if it were more closer to home. Get lost, literally - Cuetopia Billiard Cafe, a hidden gem of a pool hall place, has a down home feel for a dive. After navigating the perils of the strip mall parking lot, patrons will eventually themselves in the time warp feel of the overall establishment. Granted it is antiquated and grungy in terms of ratty tables and cue sticks, and sometimes it has a stale air about it. Nonetheless, the music borders on being ear-bleeding 'acoustic', the people are friendly, the service is good, and there always seems to a good banter of conversation and liquid spirits. And speaking of which, make sure you come thirsty, since the beers on tap are refreshingly cold - my poison, Blue Moon in a pitcher; share a round and then shoot lights out on an eight/ball nine game. Don't be fooled by the location and exterior. This is a stand up place to play pool. Very well kept and decently priced. The staff is super nice and we have gone at all kinds of hours and still felt safe. If you have a kid who is interested in pool they also allow them to play under adult supervision, which is nice since DD's had their fire. read more

Not a bad place to play pool. Quiet, and non-dangerous seeming (better than a lot of pool halls). The cues were kinda warped and the tables were on the older side but I can live with it as my game sucks anyway. We tried to order Fat Tire but they don't have it any more. They have Blue Moon which I like so that's fine. I didn't try the food so can't judge on that. I don't mind coming back here. I would also be up for trying somewhere else, but this place is totally fine. One of the most inviting pool hauls around. Staff will bring you beers, the table rates are good, and pleasant environment to have co-ed fun.
