The only reason this place is getting two stars is because the sushi was actually good. I have to say this is probably the worst service I've had at a higher end restaurant in years. It took us 45 minutes to get a cocktail and an hour and a half to get food. We were there with six people and all of us had our food for a good 10 minutes and we're almost done eating by the time they brought out my husband's meal. No apology or anything just here you go. Also, this is a hotel lobby. I had higher expectations but really that's what it is, a hotel lobby. It is an extremely loud atmosphere. When you plan to go out and have a nice meal, you expect the food to be delicious, the service to be great, and the ambiance to be special. Culprits fell short on 2 of the 3. I was part of a large dinner party, and many of us had issues that night. First off, there weren't enough table settings on the the table, so I had to share one of my forks. I ordered an appetizer that never showed up (we weren't billed for it, but it was disappointing none the less because we really wanted to try it). This happened to 2 other people at our table. One never got a drink and the other never got their appetizer. I ordered the Chicken Dijon, and it was tasty, though for some reason the Angel hair was served completely plain and not near the chicken at all. My husband's poke actually gave him mild food poisoning too. The one bonus was that the cocktails were good. While the waiter was pleasant, service was very slow. We tried Culprits for the first time tonight and it was amazing! We did the Thai Chicken and ROY G BIV roll as starters. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the breading was delicious. The roll was awesome, too! For our main meal, we did a filet mignon, the flaming scallops starter and a California roll with the Brussel sprouts and crème corn sides. The steaks come with sauce but you don't need the sauce. The steak was excellent on its own! The California roll came with this smoky paper-like topping that was so good and the flaming scallops!! Incredible. The brussel sprouts are the one thing my wife said no matter what we get next time, we have to get again. I thought the crème corn was great but my wife doesn't like spicy food and she thought the spice was too much. Fair warning. We will definitely be back! read more

Food at Culprits was very good. Dining light upon arriving at our hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the food quality and in the accommodation of our dietary requests. The Halibut piccata was exceptional and my wife enjoyed her large beet salad and cauliflower side. Highly recommend a try at this upbeat venue! I went here for a work outing in a large party. The service was good, but they can't cook a steak. I asked for a ribeye cooked medium and received a ribeye that was over cooked and much closer to medium well than medium according to my coworkers who know steak much better than me. I have them cook me a new one and it's incredibly rare, not even close to medium. The manager asks me if it's okay and offers to cook it longer right after I take my first bite, but I'm at a work thing and not trying to be too particular. The server follows up and I tell him it's really rare, but I tell him "don't worry about it" because I'm with work colleagues and don't want to make a big scene of sending it back twice because it was cooked incorrectly. The waiter did a great job and really wanted to make sure I got what I needed, but it was too much in that moment. I don't know why the chef doesn't know how to cook a steak medium. Like look at the picture. What the heck? Mac and Cheese was amazing and so was the calamari, I'm just frustrated that the chef at a steakhouse isn't able to discern rare from medium. I do want to note this is the first time I've ever sent a steak back before and if the circumstances were better I would've had to send it back twice because the second steak's cook was just god awful and not what I'd asked for. read more

A chic ambiance with elevated dishes and cocktails! I went for dinner however they are opened for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Our server, Maddie, was great! Taking care of our every need and ensuring our experience was a great one. Our table started with the flaming scallops which are fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Having also ordered a sushi roll, we couldn't resist the flaming volcano. Both of our appetizers were show stoppers -- they were quite literally on fire! I would go back just for those items alone. The house salad is crisp with a nice house vinaigrette. I ordered the NY Strip with a Hoisin Sauce on the side, my steak was cooked to perfection. Family style sides are a plus, our table enjoyed mashed potatoes, Brussels and cream corn. All of which were absolutely delicious however the cream corn was the star of the three. You have got to get the cream corn!! We ended our meal with some peanut butter pie, this is served frozen but it was a perfect way to end the meal. Although I did not have any cocktails, we saw the bar slinging out creative looking refreshments all night long. I had the pleasure of enjoying a glass of wine from their "Interesting Reds". Just amazing, there wasn't a thing on the menu me and my friends didn't enjoy except maybe the steak tartare. Their desserts and entrees were phenomenal, as well as the appetizers, you can tell a great chef is behind these dishes. Culprits is a new restaurant in Bricktown located inside the Renaissance hotel. The upscale decor and menu are paired with a friendly relaxed vibe that is anything but snooty. I have been a regular since Feb 1st, and though they are still working on some consistency issues in the kitchen, the food is fabulous and the wait staff (especially Kristie) is knowledgeable, intuitive, and entertaining. The management team is friendly, helpful, and always willing to help with any questions or issues you may have. I have loved everything on the menu, but some of my favorites include the Crab Cakes Benedict off the breakfast/brunch menu, the flaming scallops and Whipped Goat Cheese off the appetizer menu, and Volcano roll, Halibut, and Filet Mignon (Oscar style) from dinner menu. All of the sides are so delicious, but don't miss the Brussels as they are crispy caramelized, and tossed in a sweet sesame Asian sauce that tantalizes the tongue. Be advised you cannot use a gift card to this place. When we called to make a reservation, we made sure to ask if they accepted "Provision Concepts" gift cards. The gentleman told us they didn't used to, but their system changed two weeks prior and now they do. When we showed up, they declined to let us use it. Manager needs to work on her customer service skills. Very pretentious and arrogant. There is a proper way to speak to people, especially in the customer service industry. 4 of us dined at Culprits for dinner (visiting out of town). I want to make sure I give a proper review of our experience. The server was great. While our drinks took a a really long time, they were delicious. The food, on the other hand, was not good. The filet was less than a half inch thick. Embarrassing for a steak house. The salad had no dressing. The steak was terrible. I ordered mine blackened.... It was all salt and not blackened. I will have to say the very thin ribeye was cooked appropriately. While 4 of us just chalked it up to "food was terrible, but the vibe and service was great". Then it took a turn, the manager came over and asked how was dinner, We were honest with our feedback and Bree just shrugged her shoulders and said "oh well". We asked to speak with the general manager, which was even worse. He seemed to be defensive and said he didn't like our feedback. Needless to say, this is a hard pass for a repeat visit. . First and last time here. I read quite a few reviews on how good the Chicken-fried Ribeye was. I ordered that. Mashed potatoes were cold, but good. The gravy on the meat was super hot, so it equaled out. But the gravy was so salty and completely covered the meat, which was nothing special. I was the only person in the dining room. But there were 4 adults at the bar, completely ignoring their 2 children as they ran around yelling. I didn't think children were allowed in the bar area. We just literally happened on this place about to walk past, but then thought it looked cool, welcoming, and not terribly crowded. We were greeted by Amy when we walked in and when we said we were just interested in drinks she indicated that that that was not a problem. We did end up ordering a few menu items, all of which were fresh and very tasty. Amy also turned out to be our server which was great. She was very knowledgeable about food and beverage menu items. She constantly checked on us to see if all was good and if we needed anything else. She is a great asset to Culprits and totally exceeded any expectations we had, very engaged and customer-service focused, all of which we really appreciated. In fact we almost successfully swayed our friends to return the next night, our hope that Amy would be there again and available to help us. We had no idea that this was a newer business when we were walking in and learning that they are has only enhanced our recollection of the experience. Walking in, the atmosphere was intimidating--absolutely stunning interior, a beautiful layout, and even the air seemed a bit posh in here. Definitely a deer in headlights moment initially. We didn't let this stunning ambiance deter us--three super casually dressed tourists--and we were rewarded with the perfect brunch experience as a start to our day. My bf and I like to go to new restaurants and we were looking forward to trying this place once we saw it was finally open. Very disappointed. The food wasn't even mediocre. I got their version of the Rainbow roll, they call it Roy G Biv, and the Philly roll. Specifically since I get these at other restaurants I wanted to compare. My bf got their salmon dish. The fish was good but so tiny. Also it was under the pasta dishes and literally they brought it out with no pasta, just a tiny 4oz salmon....and then by the time they brought out the pasta my bf already ate the fish. So he didn't even get to eat a complete dish. The garnishes also were very bland and super small. My Philly roll was literally the smallest rolls of sushi I've ever seen. The rice in the rolls was dry and also not very flavorful. The Rainbow roll was a bit bigger but the tempura did not taste good, it tasted stale! Overall the rolls and the salmon "dish" was very lame and not nearly as flavorful nor adequate amounts as we were expecting for such a hefty price. It was just ok - 3 stars mainly for the great service & the Chicken Fried Ribeye. I read reviews & checked out the menu ahead of time so I felt pretty confident in ordering - we got Calamari (fam liked it but in hindsight they said it was mainly because they were starving), Bread Service (excellent), Crispy Tuna (skip it, rice was more gooey/sticky than crunchy & we barely ate it) Cali roll no cream cheese (it was fine, just kind of whatever but it's a Cali roll so to be expected), Tiradito (disappointing because it sounded great - green apple was a good touch but really lacked flavor overall), Chicken Fried Ribeye (loved the Gouda mash, corn was eh, steak was fine, gravy was fine) & the Vodka Mezzi (it was just eh too). Overall everything just kind of lacked seasoning & was underwhelming. Menu sounded great so I think there's a lot of potential. Our server was great & the vibe is fun - good cocktails. I am in the restaurant now. I'm going to leave comments in real time. Our waitress is great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. We had the whipped goat and it was really good. My husband ordered the table side smoked old fashioned. It was good but I think the bartender should come to the table to make it. Not rely on the waitresses, who all do it differently. There were 2 bartenders, so one could have snuck out for 3 minutes. Ok, on to the salad. We split the Caesar and it had a great flavor! We also ordered the bread and it was hot and delicious! My husband had the chicken fried ribeye with Gouda potato's and creamed corn. I thought the corn was great! He said the potato's were really good and the Gouda taste came through. As far as the ribeye, too much batter not enough meat. It was bland. I had the Vodka Mezzi. It had a good flavor but the Italians would be mortified about the amount of sauce in this dish. My spicy sausage was very crispy. I'm not sure if that is what they were aiming for but it was just tiny pieces of hard meat and not spicy. We ordered the whisky cake for dessert and hubs got a port wine. The cake was very tasty. It was paired with orange sherbet. I personally don't like sherbet so I didn't eat that. My guy is a huge drink snob. He ordered a port and it came in a brandy snifter. It was a big deal for him. Not for me. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would come again and try different menu items. This is not a 5 star restaurant but it is quite good but really pricey.
