Here for the Avocado Toast listed on the menu. Delicious, but not avocado toast. It's a sandwich. We even had an extended conversation on toasting the bread. I don't get it. I customized, nixed the tomato & butter, kept the raw onions, added hard boiled egg & bacon. Super friendly staff. Busy intersection. My experience included a homeless guy standing in the doorway. No danger, just sad. If you're one of those laptop campers, nobody will bother you here. Anyway, it's a hike from Union Square, but I'd definitely return.

Stopped in for drinks in the morning. Ordered a strawberry banana smoothie, iced chai and a lemon bar. All 3 items came to $17. Expensive drinks, smoothie was good and chai was bitter with an overload of ice. Friendly service. Menu has all sorts of coffee, beans, and non caffeine drinks as well. Plenty of grab to go food options like muffins, scones, cakes, parfaits, salads, burritos, as well as toast and sandwiches.

Too good too go pick up. I was a little disappointed in what I got. But, it's ok I still was happy with it.

My iced matcha latte as you can see all the ice in that cup I took about 3 to 4 sips & it was gone & next to it my poor smushed burnt bagel

First thing first, please look at my picture and judge from that.. it's not the best & I didn't think I wanted to post a review but I changed my mind. I got a matcha latte - had too much ice and very milky. I also ordered a bagel w/cream cheese warmed - my bagel was a bit burnt & the young girl smushed my bagel. I don't want to say she did it intentionally but it felt like she did. I sat at the window table enjoying my day. This was my 3rd time visiting here.

This unpretentious coffee shop has a homey cozy centered vibe that stands out from the more common coffee chains. I love their bacon burritos and nitro cold brew.

Love this place! I live nearby and don't like Peet's and try to avoid Starbucks so I tried Cumaica out and it's definitely my new go to. I like my lattes on the sweeter side and they make them perfect to my taste here! They also have bagels, pastries, sweets, and snacks! I love the lox bagel and have had a few of their pastries which were all yummy!! Cafe inside is clean and I like the decor of the front entrance!

Despite the so so reviews I tried this place out in the pursuit of a dark chocolate mocha. I asked if they were available here and was surprised when the barista said yes(didn't see it listed on the menu but maybe I missed it). The dark chocolate mocha was yummy. I returned to try out the chai, which was too gingery for me. Also had my first salmon lox badge here and now I'm hooked! Service is quick and friendly, staff took her time preparing my lox and it was yummy!

Chicken Salad Sandwich on wheat bread

First time at Cumaica, but I don't think it'll be my last! Had their chicken salad sandwich and it was stuffed full with chicken salad. The chicken salad was pretty unique because it had raisins, red bell peppers, celery, and the usual stuff that goes in chicken salad; the raisins and bell peppers made it unique! It included a good amount of lettuce, too, which I love in sandwiches. There was a display case full of different breakfast type pastries; doughnuts, scones, coffee cake, etc. and everything looked fresh and tasty. I didn't have any, but everyone said the coffee was good, too. The cooler that might have held cold beverages before was totally empty, so maybe it's no longer self serve. They did have cold beverages in one of the cases, though, but you'd have to ask for it at the counter. The interior of Cumaica is clean and modern. I don't think there are any tables inside, but there is one just outside their establishment. There were a couple of people behind the counter and the person who helped me was nice and pleasant.

Food, service and ambiance was very welcoming. The place was clean with lots of fresh food and healthy food options. My hot chai latte with oak milk had a great aroma and was delicious.

I've always wanted to come here but haven't until today. This was a cute spot... nothing flashy or anything fancy. It's a very simple coffee shop with a decent food menu and decent coffee. It definitely gave a more neighborhood coffee shop vibe. I typically try to get a sparkling americano, but this didn't seem like the place to order that (I'd order that at places like cafe rèveille). So I got the vanilla latte instead because it just sounded good. I was surprised with the overall quality of my drink... I wish I took a picture of it but I drank it because I was sleepy. But the flavor and texture of my drink was fabulous. I was tempted to get the lox bagel because it sounded great but I didn't. I got the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was small but quite filling. My only feedback for it is that it could use a little spice... like siracha or chill crisp oil or something. But that's a personal preference maybe. I did see someone else order a lox bagel and will definitely get it next time because it really did look BOMB DOT COM! Lol The service was fine. The people here were nice and they warmed up my burrito. You can tell this place has plenty of regulars because they knew right away what they'd want when they walked in. Bonus, this might have been just the day I was here or a personal preference as well but there was quite a bit of customers I'd consider "eye candy"... lol Overall, I'd recommend checking it out... and I'd also come back too if my client cancels and I'm in the area.

Great location, great coffee, great service! Huge cafe at the corner of 10th and Mission that I love going to over the weekends for a quiet morning coffee and avocado toast. They have a bunch of standard breakfast options like different flavors of bagels boiled eggs, avocado toast. It is quite expensive though, like everywhere else in the city I guess. For an avocado toast, couple of boiled eggs and a coffee you end up with a $30 bill. Overall, great coffee and fun place to soak in the sun along with the coffee!

I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Whether you are in the mood for a katsu sando, curry over rice, ochazuke with their matcha twist, or something sweet like the matcha cream pie, it is hard to go wrong here. All of the savory dishes I have tried have been great, but the fish katsu sando is one of my absolute favorites. The huge fish fillets are perfectly fried and flaky, tucked inside pillowy shokupan and topped with tangy yuzu shio koji sauce, tomato spread, and fresh crunchy cabbage. Every component works together beautifully, with richness, brightness, and texture all in balance. The pork katsu curry over rice is another standout. The katsu comes sliced into thick pieces that are still juicy inside, and it is fried expertly so the breading stays attached as you eat it. The curry has a really balanced flavor, even if I would not mind a little more spice, while the pickled radishes provide a nice contrast. I always add an onsen egg (for an additional $2) because breaking the runny yolk and mixing it into the curry adds another layer of velvety richness and creaminess. You can also tell they use high-quality matcha in their drinks, so the beverage menu is really more about choosing what fits your mood that day vs avoiding any bad options. Stonemill Matcha is a great option for a grabbing a drink on the go, a full blown sit down meal, a quick dessert stop or all of the above!
