Ordered an Italian soda and avocado toast. The toast was crisp to perfection and the tomatoes and such fit well inside the sandwich. The Italian soda had just the right amount of syrup, I recommend the raspberry flavor. The ambiance was slightly instagram like but with a bit more soul to it. The service was very quick but not fast enough to have the food be bad quality. Definitely better than something like Starbucks. Though I must add, the avocado toast was not what I was expecting, its more of a sandwich with onion, tomato, and avocado with buttered toast. We augmented our TGTG special with two iced, spiced chai lattes, a warm breakfast burrito with egg, potato and bacon and a chicken sandwich to take to school the next day. Nice ambiance with decent food and drinks. We were regulars pre pandemic and then post pandemic we were purposely charged extra food that were not ordered. As we waited for our paninis to heat, I visually tallied up the drinks and food, no receipt in hand, so I asked why I was charged more. The cashier immediately tapped on the register that had my charges saved after already helping others. Her English was limited but she printed a receipt with all the items listed. Our order were listed at the top and the muffins were added to the bottom. She refunded my credit card without needing my card and deducted the muffins knowing that I realized the overcharges. Despite the so so reviews I tried this place out in the pursuit of a dark chocolate mocha. I asked if they were available here and was surprised when the barista said yes(didn't see it listed on the menu but maybe I missed it). The dark chocolate mocha was yummy. I returned to try out the chai, which was too gingery for me. Also had my first salmon lox badge here and now I'm hooked! First time at Cumaica, but I don't think it'll be my last! Had their chicken salad sandwich and it was stuffed full with chicken salad. The chicken salad was pretty unique because it had raisins, red bell peppers, celery, and the usual stuff that goes in chicken salad; the raisins and bell peppers made it unique! It included a good amount of lettuce, too, which I love in sandwiches. There was a display case full of different breakfast type pastries; doughnuts, scones, coffee cake, etc. and everything looked fresh and tasty. I didn't have any, but everyone said the coffee was good, too. The cooler that might have held cold beverages before was totally empty, so maybe it's no longer self serve. They did have cold beverages in one of the cases, though, but you'd have to ask for it at the counter. The interior of Cumaica is clean and modern. I don't think there are any tables inside, but there is one just outside their establishment. There were a couple of people behind the counter and the person who helped me was nice and pleasant. read more

I've always wanted to come here but haven't until today. This was a cute spot... nothing flashy or anything fancy. It's a very simple coffee shop with a decent food menu and decent coffee. It definitely gave a more neighborhood coffee shop vibe. I typically try to get a sparkling americano, but this didn't seem like the place to order that (I'd order that at places like cafe rèveille). So I got the vanilla latte instead because it just sounded good. I was surprised with the overall quality of my drink... I wish I took a picture of it but I drank it because I was sleepy. But the flavor and texture of my drink was fabulous. I was tempted to get the lox bagel because it sounded great but I didn't. I got the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was small but quite filling. My only feedback for it is that it could use a little spice... like siracha or chill crisp oil or something. But that's a personal preference maybe. I did see someone else order a lox bagel and will definitely get it next time because it really did look BOMB DOT COM! Lol The service was fine. The people here were nice and they warmed up my burrito. You can tell this place has plenty of regulars because they knew right away what they'd want when they walked in. I typically order their coffee, which is always hot and good, or get s tea. I like the variety tea selections and when I want to be fancy I'll get a Cortado. Great location, great coffee, great service! Huge cafe at the corner of 10th and Mission that I love going to over the weekends for a quiet morning coffee and avocado toast. They have a bunch of standard breakfast options like different flavors of bagels boiled eggs, avocado toast. It is quite expensive though, like everywhere else in the city I guess. I walked 40 minutes from my office to a different office in this neighborhood and was parched. Luckily, Cumaica was open for about 20 minutes so I caught them when employees were just starting to clean up. It's also located near quite a few apartments, and I am jealous of the people who live there because they can come here more often than me! Checked this place out when another spot was closed and it was hit or miss. I got the iced dirty chai and the egg cheese and sausage bagel. The bagel sandwich was good. I was supposed to get an iced dirty chai but when I tried the drink, it didn't taste like chai at all - it tasted like just coffeee. Being a loyal customer of Martha Brother's & Cumaica since the 90s. I prefer to support small businesses. Quickly stopped in with a colleague to grab 2 cups of regular coffee. The total was $8.50 paid with $100. No receipt was offered. Count your change before leaving!!! $42.50 is a HUGE DIFFERENCE from $91.50. That was an expensive 2 cups of coffee. Don't rely on the cashiers integrity. This was an unpleasant experience. Sadly, having read others' reviews/encounters and the rude responses from the establishment really reflect poorly on the business. Corrective measures should be implemented to rectify customer concerns. Very disappointing. Although, I won't continue to patronize. I'd hate to see the business that you and your family worked so hard for deteriorate due to the carelessness & negligence of others. read more

SoMa could definitely use another neighborhood cafe, but convenient hours would also be nice. I rarely walk by when this corner cafe is open because I'm usually doing my strolling in the evening after I do my routine at the gym (like letting the elliptical do the work for me) or the weekend when I'm getting coffee at The Market (since I can't afford anything else in there). Even though it's relatively new, the vibe here is a lot earthier than its geographically immediate brethren, Peet's and Coffee Cultures, where most of the hipsters congregate. That may have to do with the pre-packaged picnic food they sell here rather than the high-end pastries of which they have just a few on the counter. Tasty, no frills coffee shop. This is a standard urban care done well. The coffee beverages they serve are delicious, including the espresso drinks. The pastures are varied and plentiful (I can't resist the morning glory cake). The service is very fast. More substantial breakfast sandwiches and bottled beverages are also available. The interior is fairly clean, considering it is right on the sidewalk on Mission, but still shows the signs of years of urban service. The front cashier lady was super nice and helpful and gave me recommendations! She would just fill in the order with sizes and customizations I never asked for so I ended up with a slightly different order than what I wanted.
