One of my top mexican restaurants in dallas! I recommend the enchiladas and mexican coke!

Guiso de puerco
Raul M.

I was craving guiso de puerco and this was one of the few places that popped up on imaps. It was a little on the salty side so that was disappointing. Although very few places get it right, it's always a hit or miss with this dish at any restaurant. Tortillas were handmade they give you a sampler tortilla with your chips and salsa. Service was good and fast! I was seated right away and served my food within 5 minutes of ordering. Food was hot and beer was cold! Waitresses are wearing Mexican dresses which adds to the Mexican theme inside. Place was packed on Saturday around 3pm. I will stop by and try other items on the menu if I'm ever in the area.

Pazole

I haven't been here in 7-10 years and maybe I know better food now. Idk. I did a michelada with a topo Chico because I love micheladas. This was decent. I won't lie. The whole cup was almost full of just mix. The chips have got to be out of a cheap bag! Worst chips in an authentic Mexican restaurant!!!!!!! Like seriously change this asap! Salsas we're good. I love when they give u a warmed up salsa as an option. I ordered pazole as this is what I used to come here for. Now I love a green pazole but most places are red. I give this a 3. No taste and idk how it doesn't have taste but thank goodness I could put the cabbage and onions in. The corn tortillas were good dipped in the salsa by the way. Now where I want to try the Chile relano idk if I'll ever come back. But I am super picky with my Mexican food. And no I'm not a Tex mex gal!

I'm not sure why people like the food here. I've been two times and it's not very good. For instance today I ordered fajita nachos. Take a look at the pic of my nachos. What do you see? Do you see dog shit? Well I did and left that plate right where it was. Well that was until my friend was eating and I was hungry. So I tried it and guess what it tasted like? Dog Poop!! I immediately asked for my check and got the heck out of dodge!!

Tortilla with butter and Agua de Horchata.

I don't go as often like I used too. Went today and order lengua in salsa and it was delicious. The agua of horchata was also good and the tortillas just made are great.

Flautas

Cuquita's is a place that I had passed by for so long and always wanted to try. I've been there twice now and feel like I know enough to review them. I usually judge a good Mexican restaurant by their rice and beans, the rice and beans are sub-par here however I gave it a 4 star review because everything else is so good. The first time I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a bowl of menudo. Both were delicious. The 2nd time I ordered flautas, also delicious. The chips and salsa are good and their waitresses are nice. The place gets packed so that's a good sign and they are very authentic! Overall I highly recommend this place if you're looking for some good Mexican food.

Quesadillas, wow delicious!!!!

First impression of Cuquitas: a little scared, apprehensive and just not sure if we should go down another block to On the Border.

Celebrating our 1-year anniversary at The Mexican was nothing short of extraordinary…read more From the moment we walked in, the energy, attention to detail, and genuine passion for excellence were evident in every aspect of the experience. The food, cocktails, atmosphere, and service came together to create an unforgettable evening. A special shout-out to Ashley, whose hospitality and mastery behind the bar elevated our celebration even more. Her knowledge of her craft, warm personality, and thoughtful recommendations made us feel truly welcomed and valued. It's rare for me to give an establishment a perfect score, but this one has earned it without hesitation. 10/10--an exceptional dining experience and the perfect place to celebrate life's special moments. Thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so memorable. We can't wait to return!

It was my first visit, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I've seen all the Instagram posts, and I finally got my chance to experience it for myself. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I had to order the tacos and the ceviche. I snagged a cozy corner seat so I could take in the entire atmosphere, and everything was spot on. The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the bartender was even kind enough to take my picture. From the service to the vibe, this place exceeded my expectations. It will definitely be one of the first places I think of for a date night!

5/5 Stars Everything…read moreabout my dinner at El Carlos Elegante was exceptional. Rather than ordering à la carte, I chose the Elegante Experience, a four-course chef-curated tasting menu that concludes with dessert for $99 per person. The menu evolves with the seasons, allowing the kitchen to showcase its freshest ingredients and current specialties, so every visit has the potential to be a little different. For the quality of the ingredients, creativity, and execution, I thought it was an outstanding value. Every course was beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. Not a single dish felt like an afterthought. The house-made masa program and wood-fired cooking really shine throughout the meal, and it's easy to see why this restaurant has earned such a strong reputation. The service was prompt, attentive, and genuinely courteous without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere strikes a rare balance, it feels refined while still being warm, familial, and incredibly inviting. If you're ordering a cocktail, I highly recommend the El Dragón. It paired perfectly with the meal and is worth trying. I've uploaded several photos with this review be sure to flip through them to get an idea of just how beautiful the presentation is. El Carlos Elegante is one of those restaurants that reminds you a tasting menu doesn't have to be intimidating or overpriced. It simply delivers outstanding food, excellent hospitality, and an experience that feels well worth the price. I'll definitely be back.

It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.

So thinking we showed up for our reservation, this location says they don't take reservations. They stop at is anyway, which was nice. We were seated on the porch, and here's where things got weird. We ordered our drinks and when the drinks were delivered, we said we were ready to order, and the waitress, hesitated and then said she would be back. Kinda strange, but eventually we had our order taken. I ordered a mango agua fresca which was pretty good. The complementary chips and salsas were also really good. For an entree I had the Tempura Fried Fish Tacos. These were very good and the coleslaw served with them was very good- crunch and bright. Overall the food here is pretty solid. The service was a bit off, but not a deal breaker, just be prepared to wait a while to have your order taken.

I would like to mention that they nickel and dime you pretty hard. Not the end of the world, but good to note!
