I have been going to curries with my mother since I was a little kid. Being from Norwalk they are the only place I go because they have always been nice and very helpful. November 23, 2018 I stopped by to get air in my tires as I always do. I was told by an employee they that don't have time to put air in my tires when they are too busy changing $1000 tires. Not that I wasn't going to wait my turn nor pay. I wasn't trying to skip the line, I just wanted air. I was taken back by what I was told and was in total disbelief. I have referred many people to this company over the couple of decades. I will definitely share my story but they have definitely lost a loyal customer. Even McDonalds take customers that only want to buy from the dollar menu. read more

Bought 4 news tired last week and showed me brake pads. Needed brakes. Make an appt for 9am today, told me at 12 noon, I needed rotors. That wasn't the case. Put the brake pads on and never got to the alignment because they started working on it at 12. The alignment was no charge, as I bought the tires from them. I was yelled at by mr. curry for nicely expressing my frustration. He was extremely rude. He also quoted me a price for the tires and charged me $20 more for each tire. Big bait and switch. Paying $80 for an alignment elsewhere because I will never deal with this pathetic owner. Horrible businessman. Watch out! read more

Overpriced and poor service. Went in because I had a flat tire. Service tech said my rim looked "chewed up" and accused me of driving on the flat. Said I literally drove on it for less than 1 minute to get to the gas station, there was no grinding noise, and rim looks normal to me. Asked him to point out where it looks abnormal but ignored me and seemed pissed off. He said well, we will have to take tire off the rim and see, probably need a whole new tire.Seemed annoyed that I questioned that the rim looks abnormal. Well he never took the tire off to look at the rim, he took the foreign object out, plugged it and put my tire back on. So I asked is my tire safe to drive on, rim ok? He said, should be okay but if the tire goes flat again, then you will need to replace. Oh thanks. So you cause panic saying my rim looks chewed up, say your going to look at it, but never do. Now everyday I'm in a panic checking to see if the tire is flat. Left feeling as if I needed a second opinion. Cost $20 to plug my tire. Have been to Town Fair Tire where they charge $12 and will rotate your tires free and the techs always give off confidence that the tire is safe to drive on. I left Curries feeling nervous to drive on my tire. That's terrible because I not only use the car for myself but to transport my family and now I do not feel safe. Almost feel like the tech was trying to scam me to buy a new tire. If rim looks chewed up, show me what you mean!!!! The only reason I went here was for convenience considering i leave several doors down. I'm going to Town Fair tomorrow to have them make sure the tire is ok read more

These guys are total pros in every sense of the word. I've used them for general maintenance a couple of times now, and have always found them to be honest, informative, and extremely helpful. My car is ready quickly when I drop it off for an oil change, and they've got low prices on great tires. Been coming here for 14 years. I've bought dozens of tires here for my company trucks and personal vehicle. Today I was really let down and shocked. I was told they were busy and the guys were about to eat lunch. No problem. I waited and waited I even walked over to Colony pizza and had lunch. When I got back I noticed they were taking care of everyone except me so I asked owner if he could help I was waiting for over an hour and people where pulling in and being helped as soon as they pulled in. He came out and as I tried to explain myself he told me "i don't need this today if you don't like it take your car and go somewhere else" so that's what I did. read more

Came here less than A WEEK AGO looking to get my back right tire plugged because the tire was loosing pressure, was charged by the big white guy in the front $15 for the service in the mean time my wife and I left and came back half hour later. .left and noticed the next day the tire pressure continued to go down (OUR CAR TELLS US WHICH TIRES IS LOOSING PRESSURE!) Called and let them know, and some young guy on the phone re assured us they will take care of it !But that never happened my wife and I came back in today and I told the big guy, the same guy that charged me the last time the issue. Told me they will check it out.... Came back half hour later and the Tech brings me in and tells me the tire has another nail and needs a plug...!...?? I said I came re assured this was going to get fixed and now your charging me again ? First of all why is the TECH CHARGING ME!!! I asked for them to show me the plug they installed and they checked the tire had no plug showing. meaning it Never Got Done!! ,the tires have at least 80% tread, he gave me some story that they could of patched it blah blah.I know what a patch costs and I didn't pay for that service. i AGREED TO PAY THEM TO GET THE WORK DONE AGAIN & warned them about the review this was going to lead to! I made an appointment at Currie Tires 4 days in advance for an oil change. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early and was told that they were behind schedule with a particular vehicle, but that they would be able to complete the oil change within the hour. At the time the current car they were working on and my car were the only vehicles in the lot. I had no issue with the wait time and told them I would return later. Upon returning to Currie Tires over an hour later, I noticed my car had not even been touched, and that another car had been getting worked on. When I asked about the status of my car I was told "Oh, it's just going in now" after sitting on the lot for 90 minutes. At that point I took the keys back and left. It was pretty evident that my business wasn't important to them and it's just unfortunate that in an attempt to support local businesses during these times, this business just doesn't appreciate it's returning customers. read more

I took my car to have an alignment service done almost a month ago three consecutive times and the alignment of my car was still wrong and when I turned left or right the car was still making noises. I just had my tired changed and now they tell me I need to get new tires. The last time they did the alignment was yesterday and the mechanic told me to come back again becase when he drove my car you can still hear the same noises and still having the same problems. I cannot comeback for the fourth time and wait one hour in the rain. it was too much for me. I took my car to town fair and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my car and everything was fine. I went to Curries with my receipt to get my money back and he said to me with a horrible attitude and with no respect at all that no returns were accepted. I told him to be considerate of my situation and that they had misaligned my car. I told him that I will go to make issue a complaint about the situation and the disrespect and he literally laughed and looked at me and said I said "good luck with that". do not go to that place because they are going to scam you and they do not take precautionary measures in regards to Covid. The owner was in his office where there was more than ten people entering at a time. They didn't use masks to protect themselves from the virus or to protect us. This happen today. read more

This business has been here since 1929 and is still run by family! I wrecked my right front tire on a rock for the second time in a month. Not only did they take care of it, but they did it in the least expensive way and stored my car while the new wheel came in. The last time I had it fixed, it cost me around $800. Made an appointment for an oil change with Mark on Friday for Sunday (7/23/17) at 11AM. Mark told me it would cost $20 if I provided my own oil and filter. I show up Sunday at 10:45 AM and Tim Currie says he" doesn't do that any more, Mark made a mistake" That is bait and switch. The ethical thing to do would have to honor the agreement made by his employee and then say he will not do this in the future. To call Mr. Currie crude & rude would be putting it mildly. read more

I've had my oil changed here numerous times and it usually gets done pretty quickly. During a recent visit, I was told that they do oil changes by appointment only now. So I set an appointment for later that day. I showed up 15 minutes early. I was told they would get to me shortly. So I sat in a chair outside the shop and waited patiently. Forty five minutes goes by and I'm still sitting there in the hot sun waiting. No one bothered to say anything. The shop was unusually slow this day. In fact, a bunch of workers were hanging out in front of the garage talking. The guys inside the shop were behind the counter talking to each other the whole time. They definitely weren't too busy to say something to me about why I waited so long. I just got in my car and left. Why make an appointment if you're not going to honor it? I've definitely received quicker service at this shop in the past before they implemented this appointment only crap. I won't be going back to Currie's. read more

One of my cylinders was misfiring and I went to Curries to get it fixed. I needed some maintenance done as well (spark plugs and a new belt). I figured it was a spark plug or coil problem that was causing the misfire, and they diagnosed it as a bad coil. When i dropped it off i said i wanted all the plugs changed and a new belt, and when they called me after diagnosing the problem they offered me several different quotes. SInce they are so cheap I had everything done, and they work quickly too. These days you don't find many people with passion for there job, but the guys at curries definitely do. read more

Horrible experience. I can't believe how unprofessional they were. I went the first time and my boyfriend specifically told them I needed 2 tires, a tire balance, mount and wheel alignment. They gave him one price & once I came in a few days later they charged me more. I wasn't able to even get my wheel alignment done that day because supposedly they didn't have the right equipment. So I had to come back almost a week later. Meanwhile I didn't get a call from them which they were suppose to give me once they had the right equipment to get it done. Then once I finally went to get it done, they didn't fix anything. My steering wheel was leaning more towards the opposite side. And I know they were around the block to drive my car so I'm sure a professional would have realized the problem. But no, when I went in to pay nothing was addressed about the issue. Once I drove away and noticed what was going on, I called them and the man had nothing smart to say. Just told me the mechanic left and I should call back tomorrow. I cannot believe this.
