I was here with two other coworkers on a mundane Wednesday in the summer. The restaurant was half full at our arrival. I have mixed reviews, though. I think our server was doing her best, but she may have been over served. We had spots of 20 minutes with no contact, which is UNACCEPTABLE for a restaurant charging a mandatory 20% tip and $240 tomahawk steaks. I had the salmon and it was spot on. Had a group dinner at Cuts on a prefixed menu. There were about 60 of us in attendance. The steak option was a NY Strip with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Overall it was very good based on the number of people they had to serve. The place is very large overall and the bar looked nice even though I didn't try any cocktails. The place is located in the city and in walking distance of multiple hotels. Would like to come back and try it again since mass cooking of steaks is never the right way to try a steak place. Shrimp was small and the bourbon bacon is pork belly. Not what I was expecting. Order the 16oz ribeye. It was so chewy, fatty. very thin and rare when I asked for medium. The waiter never came to check so no way to complain. The sides are very small we ordered the family size sides. Foot vegetables were dried out. The pimento Mac and cheese was so gloppy and garlic mashed needed salt. We could not get drinks replenished. The cheesecake was grainy and mushy. I don't know how is even has 3.5 stars. We attended Cuts as a group of 8 Friday night (with reservations). It wasn't overly crowded. The staff were friendly , including our waiter who was knowledgeable of the menu and made suggestions. First, let me start by saying that the Cuts Suwanee location in Gwinnett County is my usual spot, and after this experience, I won't be "cheating" on them again. The Suwanee location truly sets the standard and should serve as the example and training model for all staff. My boyfriend and I visited the Downtown Atlanta location on Valentine's Day. Surprisingly, it wasn't very crowded. Our first impression wasn't the best. We're accustomed to valet service at the Suwanee location, and while we understood that valet may not be feasible downtown, it did set a different tone from the start. We had a 6:00 PM reservation through OpenTable, but when we arrived, the host insisted our reservation was for 3:00 PM and said it would be a few minutes before we could be seated, suggesting we wait at the bar. This was awkward and a bit embarrassing, but we decided to go along with it to avoid starting the evening on a negative note. We ended up sitting near the bar in a corner with open tables, which turned out to be fine given that the Downtown location is much smaller than Suwanee. Our waiter brought tap water and asked if we'd like to order appetizers. At Suwanee, bottled or sparkling water is typically offered right away, so we had to ask for that ourselves before placing our appetizer order. Shortly after, we placed our dinner order. Unfortunately, the timing of service became very frustrating. We watched at least three tables near us -- who arrived 30 minutes or more after we did -- receive their food before us. Guests seated at the bar after we arrived were also served before we were. We waited over 90 minutes for our entrées. When the food finally arrived, it did not meet expectations. The medium-rare steak, asparagus, and mac and cheese lacked flavor and seasoning. The cornbread was cold and hard. The shrimp with BBQ sauce and collard greens was the highlight of the meal, and the wedge salad was ok, but overall, the dishes just did not hit the mark. Our waiter was kind and professional but had no clear answers about the delay. He even mentioned that he had placed the order nearly an hour and a half earlier. Considering the restaurant was not overly busy -- even for Valentine's Day -- the wait was disappointing. The manager did come out to address our concerns. He was polite, apologetic, and accommodating. After speaking with him, our food arrived about 10 minutes later. While we appreciated his efforts, the overall experience left us unhappy. We truly enjoy Cuts, especially the Suwanee location, but this visit to the Downtown Atlanta restaurant did not reflect the high standard we've come to expect. read more

We came here at the advice of the hotel staff. Place is lovely, quiet, and the music is at a good level. We started with the escargot and ahi tuna. The escargot was a touch over cooked but was very tasty. It's gotten difficult to find a place that doesn't over salt or garlic it. The ahi was perfectly seared and the slaw was very good, nice and vegetables were abundant. We had the rack of lamb - my son devoured it, I had the steak au povair, it was a bit salty but very tender. The strip was juicy and tender, had it with the fries and that was the only thing I didn't like, while crispy they needed salt. Service was wonderful. They were attentive and personable. Most ordered cocktails, a group of us ordered a bottle of Argentine Malbec wine, and an eventually a second. Everyone had steaks 5 Ribeyes had a nice crust at medium rare little more medium than rare, but great flavor with truffle butter on tops. One New York strip, again slightly more medium than rare but the crust and taste made up for it. 1 petite filet, absolutely perfect, medium rare done just right. Sides included a baked potato, asparagus, whipped garlic potatoes, and creamed spinach. The deserts were amazing as well, the table shared a decadent mousse...cake, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and brownie in a signature dish. A great way to finish a great dinner. I did hear some random convo of the staff the entire time at the bar but I brushed it off but was curious if it was because I sat down. I did find the menu selection comparable to that of other steakhouses in the city however I did find the quality was less. Not less in a bad way as it was still very good but I think that's how they keep their prices more affordable for a steakhouse. For that I give 4 stars! The only bone in option was the cowboy but they had an abundance of other steak options and sides. The sides were smaller than most steakhouses and that may be another reason prices are more economical. In total I had 3 old fashions, bread, some of a friends escargot which was delicious (my 1st time), a rib eye, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. They did forget my salmon appetizer but it may have been a hiccup. It wasn't on the bill and I did get full by the time the food arrived. It was a treat to see the staff around our table smiling and one of the chefs even came out. Another large party was next to ours so it was a busy night for them. I'd visit again for sure. I spoke with Jada about the bookings, and she was very detailed about the restaurant's clothing, outside cake pricing and cutting fees, payment stipulations for one tab if the attendees surpassed five, prerequisites, parking, and other details that I communicated with my group. There were no surprises. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance. Our servers were Alphonso and Tarik, and both were fantastic! My father is a veteran who has difficulty hearing, and Alphonso has an aunt who has the same issue; he asked Tarik to raise her speaking level when presenting the menu to my father. Pure gold.
