The hostess was the only positive. The waitress was not attentive. When asked will we get complementary cornbread for the table, we had to ask AGAIN only to receive what look to be something rejected from some elses plate. It was only two small pieces for a party of 3. I ordered wings and fries, had to wait for fries roughly 15mins. They messed up my friend order. She asked for mac and cheese only to receive mash potatoes that was heavy on the garlic. When we informed the waitress, the order was wrong, it took another 10mins to receive mac and cheese with cold shredded cheese on top. Collard greens were too salty. Spinach dip was served COLD. How do expect people to digest COLD CHEESE? The waitress asked if we needed refills only forget. We spoke with the owner. I wasn't convinced he did anything. So we visited Cutten Kitchen near the 13th floor in Houston!!! We really loved the vibe and the reviews and food looked amazing. We just there while our kids and their friends were at haunted house...but outside of the vibe we were disappointed!!! I don't write reviews very often but I felt like I needed too! We liked the minimalistic approach were you order everything on your phone...but there are some things that need work! The drink menu is atrocious! My wife ordered two different beers from the app but neither of them were available!!! For some reason on the app you can order their appetizer of chicken bites with a rare option...WTF? The chef at this particular location should be replaced...we only did apps, every single item we ordered was flavorless!!! We had to add salt, pepper, ranch or tobacco to everything just to make it edible!!! I have nothing but positives to say about my first (won't be my last) visit to Cutten Kitchen. Greeted by the Bartender, he just happened to be outside as we walked up. Got there on a Sunday about 1145am, no issue was seated promptly. The waitress was over to us with excellent service. Cornbread is complimentary (is very good) To the orders: We had the devil eggs with chicken, and crab cakes for starters. I recommend them. Main meals were the French Toast sliders, Chicken Fried Chicken with scrambled eggs and potatoes, pancake on the side, also had NY steak (medium) my son said was prepared very well! My friend and I had never been here before, but had decided to try it on (6.19) Juneteenth. I was excited because the menu looked promising. We opened the door to find that the line to be seated is at the entry. We were seated at a table but asked before being seated could we have a booth (the time was about 1:30pm), there were several booths that were available but not yet cleaned. So the person seating us said that she was sorry but there were no booths cleaned. So we were seated at a table next to the booth that we hoped for. The wait for someone to come to our table and acknowledge that we were there and to even bring us water was EXTREMELY long, but as we were seated there was two other couples were seated at tables close to ours. Shortly after they were seated a waiter welcomed them and took their order, as we still waited for someone to come to our table. Then we noticed that one of the tables even got their appetizers and we still hadn't been acknowledged. So we stopped there waiter and asked why weren't we being waited on, before the other couple as we were seated first? She apologized and said that she would help us although she wasn't our waiter. Although not please, we said ok, I also mentioned to her that we also wanted to seat at a booth, she said that she would clean one for us and move us then take our order, we said ok. BUT, then the person that seated us passed by our table (as the waiter was talking to us), the waiter shared with the person that we wanted to move to the booth and that she was about to clean it for us. The person then said NO, I'm about to clean that table for the couple that just walked in. WOW she was not willing to clean it for us, but willing to clean it for the people of a different persuasion (which also was the same persuasion of the people that got their food before us). This would happen on Juneteenth! We stood up and told the waiter thank you and we left (what I/we will not do, is dine where I/we don't feel welcomed / although I/we should have been). Really good food (breakfast & lunch) and reasonably priced. I am a big breakfast person and I come here every chance I get. Homemade biscuits, bacon perfectly crispy, great French toast etc. People are always nice and attentive. The place has a cool vibe. I like how they have a good eclectic play list with sports up on their TVs. Note this is not a fast food place so don't expect your food to show up instantly. They actually cook it. read more

Husband have been here twice before for brunch and loved the options on the menu and the price. We came back on Sunday for brunch and found they have changed things and not for the better. They have taken many of the breakfast options away and only have a few brunch items. Their prices have increased significantly and you order by QR code at your table. My husband ordered the sliders and it had no flavor whatsoever and I ordered the brunch bowl. It was mostly potatoes. Sadly we will not be returning. read more

Attempted to do my Gender Reveal here & I honestly cried due to how bad it went. Called for a reservation of 11 ppl. Once arrived we were told they didn't know anything about a reservation. 2 ppl out of our party ordered food upon arrival, 4 ppl ordered 15-20 minutes after, and the remaining 5 people did not order anything but water & mimosas that were not receive until 25 minutes later & constant asking the bartender, food didn't arrive until 1pm. In the midst of us waiting for our food, another party came in and had to clean plates and old food off of another table just have somewhere to sit . Anytime we would ask for utensils, condiments, or napkins it took 15 mins to receive. the self serve drink station was a mess and drinks were out. we tried not to ask too much of the staff bc it seemed like an inconvenience when we did. (big), they brought me a small tray of cornbread and I must say the best cornbread I have ever had! Breakfast was very good and you place your order at a counter and find a seat in beautiful comfortable furniture while you wait for your food. You get your own condiments and coffee, your food is brought to your seat. The eggs were cooked perfectly but I would check the details to make sure the go withs are what you would expect. This new dining spot is delicious. Don't miss the cornbread or the southwestern egg rolls. The fries were the best I ever tried. This place has been 3 different things over the past year. We didn't get to the first two but decided to make it here when they opened in case they don't make it either! We ate at the bar and ordered a variety of appetizers/small bites. Most memorable and delicious is their stuffed jalapeños on the appetizer menu. Service was fast and friendly, and the dining room appeared spacious and comfortable. The man that finally noticed me told me to sit anywhere but I must order first. He stated that I had to order to sit down three times in a total of 2 minutes. The service has always been friendly and attentive. The ambiance was better than most restaurants I go to on FM 1960, with plenty of TV's, plenty of room, nice tables and large clean bathrooms. Haven was so welcoming from the moment we walked in. Great service and attentive. I love that it's a digital menu. Food was top tier! My only gripe is that the starters came out at the same time as the entrees. A downside of ordering the food together via the QR code, but the quality greatly made up for it. Today was my second visit to Cutten Kitchen. The first time I enjoyed the food. Today, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, cooked medium. I was sorely disappointed, as it was rare and bled out on the bun. The bread was so soaked that the burger couldn't even be picked up. It was thrown together very sloppily. I also had the fried okra, which was just okay. It needed salt. Probably won't return again. read more
