Going into a CVS pharmacy has always been accompanied with frustration because of the long lines and long wait times. This CVS pharmacy though has neither of those issues. The front-line tech's were in very good spirits and the pharmacist Young was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. If I could give this pharmacy minus 100 stars I would!!! Katrina the pharmacist will not help the elderly with their medication. Do not be fooled by her kind voice. My husband had spine surgery and is disabled. since Covid we lost our car and had to transfer his meds to this CVS so I can walk there to pick them up. His pain doctor called in his meds and CVS accepted them. Katrina decided then she would not fill them. As I was trying to figure out why she just spoke to me as though I was not a person. I started to cry and become hysterical because my husband needed those meds. She then said I was screaming at her and hung up. My fiancé had major shoulder surgery and when I went to fill his pain meds, Jill, the pharmacists decided she would not fill it. "This is too many pills!" Ok well that's what the doctor ordered and he's in a lot of pain. "Nope, I won't do it. I've had foot surgery before and I know he's not in that much pain." Well mam this is a shoulder replacement, so... Ok so I call the doctor who is LIVID at this lady. The surgeon calls the pharmacist,He chews her out they have a fight about what my fiancé who she's never met, treated... Anything, and has never had a prescription for pain pills before needs. She refuses to fill it and I end up having to go to another pharmacy who sees the prescription and answers with "let me get this for you." Apparently, according to Jill, once you have picked up your prescription, you are no longer a patient and have to wait until there are no other people that need help before or AFTER you come in. Waited 10 minutes in the "consultation" area while pharmacist Jill Kolin helped others in the pick-up line. There were three people there. I had picked a prescription up the week before at CVS and couldn't figure out the schedule of taking the different parts of the prescription. Jill finally came over, looked it up then walked away. She called over to me that I'd have to wait 15 minutes while she "helps patients" -- as if I am no longer a patient because I had already paid??? I had already waited while she helped anyone who had come in before me -- fair enough -- but now she was going to make me wait while she helped people who came in AFTER me. Of course, then more people would come in and it was clear that she was going to let me stand there -- this is just WRONG. read more

The parking situation is amazing. Let me explain: There is about 8-10 spots right out front and over 30 upstairs on the roof. You can turn right into the easy parking from La Brea headed west, or make an illegal left from La Brea going east. The local secret is to enter off 3rd street down the alley and turn into parking. I like this CVS. It's clean and organized. although usually under-staffed, the staff I've interacted with are great. Their Pharmacy team is incredibly friendly and fast as well. They don't have any chilled wine but they have a lot of beer. They also have a great selection in their liquor aisle. They added self-checkout stations, though they are hidden in the corner behind the liquor by the "main entrance" - I always enter by the counter on la brea, not 3rd. There is parking, which is incredible. Park upstairs on the roof if the lot is too full! read more

Absolutely the worst pharmacy staff I've ever encountered. There is not a single competent person working in the pharmacy. I've been using this CVS to fill prescriptions for a year and a half, and after many horrible experiences today has taken the cake. I will never set foot in this pharmacy again, and I feel obligated to let others know this location should be avoided. Today's incident: I call, speak to a pharmacist, ask about my prescription. He says no problem $35, pick it up in an hour. I ask how many refills I have. He says this is the last one. I say okay, see you in an hour. One hour later I show up, wait in line and I'm informed that my prescription expired and I have no refills. I was lied to over the phone or a mistake was made. If this was a mistake, then call me back as soon as you realized you could not refill my prescription, AND either way you need to apologize. You've failed at your job and greatly inconvenienced me. Not only was he unapologetic, but he was completely rude and dismissive. Now if this was the first incident, it would be annoying and frustrating, but maybe not grounds to never return. However; this is the 5th or 6th time I've received horrible service here. One time I called to make sure a refill was ready (after experiences with prescriptions not being ready despite waiting an extra hour), they said yes. I walk in 15 minutes later and they cannot find my refill. I had to come back the next day. Another time I waited in line, then when I get to the counter the man informs me it's his lunch break, so he can't help me and I should come back in an hour. Another time I was given the WRONG prescription! Thankfully I read the labels, or something serious could have happened. Bottom line: This is not a pharmacy run by professionals. I would not trust them with something as important as my health. They must survive only on the store's name brand, because their rude, incompetent staff is not what's bringing in the customers. read more

How is a CVS a local gem? This new branch is still not on Google Maps, so this review is more of a community service. As Lauren Q mentioned, the parking is surprisingly well-designed. Also, my own local CVS is always picked through, so this location has what I need on hand. Hopefully this location will encourage CVS and other brands to think about opening more locations that are smaller and friendlier across LA. read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood, and this is the closest CVS to me. Naturally, I transferred my two prescriptions here. It has been nothing but a nightmare the entire time. I have no idea what happened, (they claim my insurance changed, but I have had the same insurance for 2 years), but the medication that usually costs me $2 ended up costing me over $100. It's a medication, I need it, I had to pay. Instead of offering to call my insurance company and begin the claim process on my behalf (because this was clearly CVS's mistake), they did nothing. Turns out, they had filled THE WRONG MEDICATION. I ended up having to go back the next day for the correct one. And, of course, my usual generic medication that I've been on for 5 years wasn't in stock, so they gave me a generic different brand. Fast forward to today. I'm low on my monthly meds. At my previous CVS, they would auto-fill my perscription a week before I was out. I (stupidly) thought that my entire medical history, including my week-before-refill, would transfer to this CVS. I called on Tuesday and found my perscription was "Being filled, but not yet ready," according to the Robot Man. I call back today (Friday) since I have to start taking the meds Sunday, and once again, Mr. Robot Man tells me my perscription is "Being filled, but not yet ready." I get ahold of someone I'm the pharmacy to tell her what's going on and to ask when it'll be ready for pickup. She was short, she cut me off multiple times, wouldn't listen to my questions, etc. She said it'll be filled soon. I asked if we could set up filling a week prior, she (again) cuts me off and says yeah, sure. She hung up before I could get an ETA as to when my medication will be ready. TL;DR This CVS Pharmacy isn't a good one. Rude, incompetent staff, late perscriptions, stupid mistakes that shouldn't be made. Find a different CVS for your medical needs. read more

This review is from 2017, but it was just in my Yelp drafts waiting to be sent. I have never written a negative Yelp review, but this experience warrants this review. The pharmacy employees here are really slow and difficult to deal with today. My prescription was called into a different CVS location by mistake and this current location told me I needed to call the other store directly myself to make the transfer... So, I listened and made the call, which had me wait over 15 minutes on the phone to get an actual employee on the phone to transfer the prescription. Although, when I got someone on the phone from the other CVS, that employee said the current CVS needed to call them for the transfer to be completed. So, I never actually needed to wait and call myself, it turns out that the employee here was just lazy and didn't want to help me in the moment. When the pharmacist here picked up the phone to call the other store, she dialed a direct line number that got through immediately and didn't have to wait the same 15 minutes to get an employee on the phone for the transfer info. She almost seemed annoyed to be helping me. She told me we now have to wait for the other store to send over the transfer. So now I have been waiting over an hour here, and the pharmacy worker is still "waiting" for the other CVS store to "fax" over the prescription orders for the transfer. It feels like she was hoping I would just leave! I told her I am not leaving until I get the prescription filled. The funny part is that there are no other customers in person here right now! Now they are saying that I can't have the medicine because my insurance was billed somewhere else for the same drug! This process is getting to be a bit silly. So the same "now too busy" pharmacist just told me I have to wait while she calls my insurance to find out why my insurance was billed for this same med yesterday! All she needs to do, is let them know I didn't pick it up at the other CVS, and I am picking it up at this current CVS. I will never be coming back to this CVS pharmacy! Actually the best pharmacist interaction I've had at any cvs. He really took the time to understand my pain and why I'm needing the prescription I was picking up. He gave me really helpful advice as how best to take it. Even threw in "if you don't want to take it one day, don't take take it!" (It's an as-needed basis drug, so the advice is sound), which is rarely said by western medicine, I feel. He seemed to speak from experience, as well, which is admirable. Easy in, easy out, and he actually knew what he was talking about, and seemed to care. 5 stars! read more

Do not attempt to call this place. I tried to give them a call about a prescription I had just picked up 10 minutes earlier as there was an issue. The pharmacy was completely dead when I went in and it was after rush hour ... I called and was immediately placed on hold and was left on hold for over 20 minutes and then I was hung up on. Not once, but twice. All I had was one simple question that would have taken less than 60 seconds to answer... side note, I work in the medical industry and never had any other pharmacy be so crappy when it came to phone etiquette. Not complaining about any particular CVS, but with CVS app and website. I have had major problems. For example, I ordered my most important medication, then would go on the app or site, and it was not shown that it was ever ordered, even though I would receive an email that the medication had been ordered. This went back and forth for a week. Then when it finally was processed it went to a pharmacy that i did not request. Today my doctor was to order a different medication for me. Normally am notified by text when it will be filled. Not only did I not receive any text, (and thinking my doctor did not order this medicine at all) but also nothing showed on the CVS app or or site, that this was even ordered today. It took three phone calls to find out it indeed was ordered by my doctor. At one point, I waited for a CVS rep for an hour, then hung up with no answers. It could be filled tomorrow, but no CVS rep was able to answer that, and that I actually did understand. But overall, the CVS experience has been a big mess and a headache. read more

If you are going there to refill a prescription that has been prescribed under crucial circumstances, do NOT come to this pharmacy. I called to validate that I would be able to get an order in for my medication, and the manager just told me to come in. Upon arrival not only was I denied BUT i was ridiculed and literally laughed to my face by one of the "ICDC" graduates. I not only felt horrible, but the environment that they foster is absolutely discouraging especially for those who actually need help. Controlled substances ARE abused by many, but what about those people that really do need them? Everyone working in that pharmacy tells you one story over the phone (mind you, they will keep you on the line for 40 minutes) and when you get there confident you will get your prescription, they have you leaving with your prescription at hand. Yikes. I went to the pharmacy at Labrea and 3rd in Los Angeles to pick up a prescription that I dropped off yesterday. Anthony, the pharmacist, picked up my prescription from his desk and said "you mean this? Wow, this must have been here all day. I haven't noticed it. We get lots of prescriptions so we don't really know whats here." Really? Anthony has some basic pharmacy practice skills to work on. Then he said that it "should have been filled by Elaine, she was here yesterday and she will be back tomorrow." It was closing time and I am to call at 8 tomorrow when Elaine opens the pharmacy. Anthony and Elaine have some co-worker issues to resolve. Lets hope I get my prescription. Otherwise, love the store, but non-pharmacy only. read more

If I could have given the store a zero I would. Last month I moved over on this side of town, in my regular Pharmacy was on Market Street CVS. I have never witnessed so much dysfunction and disharmony and a CVS store as I have witness on South La Brea and Rodeo Drive. I went to get my meds on Wednesday most of them already they told me my dulera wouldn't be ready until Sunday. Then I went back on Friday to pick up some prednisone because I had went to Urgent Care on Friday. I took the prescription and they filled it in less than 10 minutes I reconfirmed that my dulera will be ready Sunday. Saturday I called and spoke with the gentleman pharmacist that and he told me yeah your prescription will still be ready on Sunday and at that time I ordered some albuterol inhalation if I have bronchitis and I need to get all of that along with my prednisone to close my bronchioles. Sunday I went in there at 10:10 a.m. no medication ready!!! I will serious! And the guy in front of me his medication was supposed to be ready a week ago and his was already there. So I had to wait 30 minutes for the pharmacy to get his ready and then another 10 minutes, 40 minutes altogether to get my medication ready that should have been ready when I called in a week prior. I have never had these problems before. And the pharmacist had nerve to get an attitude with me when I asked him when will it be ready after 35 minutes! The pharmacist was trying to answer the phone for prescriptions, was calling the doctors for prescriptions for people whose prescription wasn't there, and then went down to the drop off line to take care of them! !! This is the worst run CVS if you don't mind waiting 30 to 45 minutes or medications that they are sending you text saying they are there, then go ahead. I just went in here and as soon as I bent down to look at hair dye colors, I hear "code 99" on the loud speaker and a young, brunette male associate comes rushing down the aisle to ask me if I need any help. Suspected of shoplifting when I could write a check to pay this store's mortgage on the spot. So I get to the checkout and I ask the same associate what "code 99" means (when I already know -- Google it) And he gets all tongue tied and weakly responds "oh it's just when we ask the customers if they need help". Completely incompetent and unprofessional. Went to pick up 2 prescriptions and only 1 was ready. No warning, no call to let me know. Then, after asking where was my other prescription, I was told by the pharmacist that I was "lucky" because they have it. Boy I guess I really lucked out today. Then when asking a question regarding the manner in how to take the medicine, I was met with a sarcastic comment from the pharmacist. I won't be back. Just came out of the store with major disappointment. The worst CVS I have ever been to! Most CVS I have great experience when come to redeem coupons, however this store is helpless with a coupon in hand they could not grant the $4 coupon! Because they can not figure out how to? Or afraid lose profit? Not sure, instead if help with my shopping experience, the two cashier just stood there helplessly, and the manager came around said "can't help" call the 800 number, and of cause the customer service is closed on Sunday! Due the math, they just lost a sale for 50 dollars just to not give a $4 coupon, not too smart of business model.
