Wow! Love this gem of a fruiteria! I've been addicted to their fruit salad & whip Cream. So far, I've had it every night this week! I'm also a fan of the Bionico. The fruit is fresh and delicious. The service is fast and friendly. Every time I come here I feel like a goddess enjoying a beautiful fruit platter....super thankful to have this healthy and fast treat! Ok, since I have family in Coronado this place isn't too far when I'm having a Chamango craving. They have a drink like it called the Mangazo. I didn't try it yet, but I had a mango diablito here and I have to say the flavor definitely rivals Teresita's. It's pretty much the same just missing the chunks of mango. I'm not a fan of the candied straws at Teresita's but for some reason chewed the heck out of the one I got here with my diablito. The major plus for me was I was the only one there and got my drink super fast in comparison to the sometimes crazy wait at Teresita's. So, if you're in the area I'd definitely say give this place a shot. read more

First time customer with high hopes...well those were quickly crushed when I decided to order a veggie torta. As soon as I got the sandwich I could tell it was low quality (and overpriced). The bread was too thick and had absolutely no crispness to it whatsoever. The veggies consisted of a couple sliced tomatoes, some yellow-green unappealing iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, scant avocado, and queso fresco even though the sign clearly states the torta contains Swiss cheese. Oh and mayo. No special yummy sauces or even salsa. After (stupidly) eating this sandwich (it sure wasn't a torta by any standards) I have now developed a delightful case of food poisoning. Went to this place on a whim and im glad I did. It is hard to find a good smoothie place, but it's even more rare to find a great tortas in the same place. The fruit salads are also excellent. I've gone here for two straight days and I will find myself coming back many more times. The staff here is friendly and the prices are good. read more

Roaming about Imperial Beach waiting for my car dealer to finish, I was looking for lunch. I had a choice of Rally's, Subway, Mariscos Costa Azul, or Dkchefruteria. It was not a hard choice. The bagel was so good! I felt guilty for eating it without my husband & I was forced to save him some. The power nutrient drink was not only delicious, but I felt the energy of it as soon as I put it down the hatch. When I got home I was in the best of moods. If I ever make it to IB again, I will definitely revisit. read more

I'm totally sad with this place. :( I have been coming here for a while and today I bought three large fruit salads and honestly I feel ripped off on one of the three. I bought a large fruity loco for eight bucks and a large pico de gallo salad and a large fruit salad with no melon or cantaloupe and no water melon well since I deleted that stuff u would think they would maybe give you a lil more something but no, so I spent an extra buck to get mango (which it doesn't come with at this fruit place) (most all do) anyway, I pay twenty three bucks for three large fruit salads and I ask for an extra honey (cause they only gave me one total) so, she reaches and asks someone something, takes like a minute to turn around then as she puts it on the counter says sixty five cents. I'm a lil shocked but I reach in my pocket and only have thirty three cents. (Not about to use my debit card again for sixty five cents plus fifty cents for the card) lmao I mean really I gave it two stars not one because the fruit is semi good and I will never ever come back and my family in IB who has been there before will also NOT go and I will go to Chula Vista which is only five minutes away. This place is one of my top favorite fruterias in San Diego! The store is clean and organized, everytime I have been here the place seems to be filled, and the fruit is fresh! They also make one of the best chamangos I've ever had. Mango and strawberry are my personal favorites! Also, their breakfast bowls are delicious! Everything is delicious, I have tried fresh fruit and tortas. Yesterday I ordered a torta de lomo (pork). It was excellent! The only issue I had was that I asked the young girl at the counter for extra jalapeños, she informed me that my sandwich had them inside, again I asked for extra and she just stared at me. First time here and my last. Ordered Tostilocos and by far the worst. The pork skin also know as cueritos were worm and would dissolve in your mouth (disgusting). Everyone knows cueritos have to be fresh and most definitely shouldn't dissolve in your mouth. Lastly, how does some mess up Tostilocos!? Been coming to this spot since I started working in Imperial Beach, and every order I make never disappoints! Only one time I had Fresas con crema and the strawberries tasted very old, I let them know and right away they made me a new one at no charge. This place is amazing! I come here 3/4 times a week and every time every torta/sandwich is delicious. They are VERY generous with their meat and avocado, so much that the meat and avocado spills out (in a good way). They do charge extra for additional items, but nothing extreme 50 cents seems pretty reasonable to me for a small business. The staff is very friendly at all times. Ordered a lomo torta. It's always hard to go to any Mexican shop and order lomo because I personally prefer a red shredded meet type of lomo. The torta was great! But it was a white meet lomo. Still great good price for the torta $5.50. I would recommend the cubana torta it is $8.50 but very delicious! My friend ordered that one. Clean place, clean bathrooms. It took just a little long to get the food but you can call ahead and place an order and see the menu on line. read more
