Storefront of DT Restaurant Food Stall
    Lonnie K.

Food stall is located inside New York Food Court (3-4 mins away) from Sky View Mall. D.T. Restaurant has a white storefront on the right side when entering the food hall. Plenty of seating in the communal area. Just grab yourself a table to sit down, although you might've to wipe your table & seats down with a napkin. Restrooms are in the back. Usually no line when you go place an order at the front counter. Staff speaks and understands Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Staff is patient, helpful, & friendly if you want to ask about the menu. They accept cash and card for forms of payment. You'll get a receipt and a buzzer to let you know that the food is ready. Food takes about 15-20 mins to make as everything starts getting prepared and cooked when it's freshly made to order. If you're eating in, the staff puts the food in a stainless steel dish to keep it hot throughout your meal. Otherwise, takeout orders are stored in sturdy rectangular beige-colored containers to prevent leakage. I like that they've been changing their dish ware for both dine-in & to-go orders. I remembered that back then no matter if you have to go/to stay orders, they used to put everything in flimsy aluminum containers 10 months ago. Glad to see that they've finally decided to change the tableware for good. I see that they've now added a cute logo of 2 cartoon characters holding utensils in their little hands. Anyway, enough about everything else and back to the delicious food. Could hardly finish it imo because I thought I could finish it since it didn't look that much to me at first. Probably about 1-2 person kind of generous portion. Ordered the Creamy Chicken Steak Over Rice Platter. Paid an extra $3 for adding cheese to the dish. This part must've been new, don't remember it 10 months ago. The cheese is really long and stringy when digging my fork into the cheesy part of the surface. Good for a cheese pull pic or video on social media. Since the food is kept in the stainless steel dish, it has remained hot throughout the entire time...even for slower eaters like me. Cheese is crispy around the edges and melty soft in the middle. Fried rice is found underneath plus there're many big strips of tender chicken too. There're 4 types of sauces that customers can choose for their baked cheese rice platter dishes: 1) Black Pepper Sauce 2) Curry Sauce 3) Tomato Sauce 4) White Sauce (Béchamel Sauce) A drink also comes with ordering the Baked Cheese Dishes, so I've chosen the Milk Tea over Lemon Tea as the drink choice. Thought the iced milk tea is pretty refreshing on a humid day. It's basically just sweetened milk tea but sometimes the simplest thing is the best. Food choices can get pricey with the additional add-ons but the portion size make up for it

Curry with Potatoes and Chicken Cheese Baked Rice

Decently tasty with a fantastic price. Ordered the Curry with Potato and Chicken Cheese Baked rice. It was a decent amount of chicken and the curry was quite good. The potatoes were unfortunately really bad though, kind of tasted like it was undercooked. Thankfully, it was really cheesy so there was a lot of cheese flavor. For $8 though, can't really complain! Service was pretty quick despite lots of online orders. Note that you eat in a food court though so it has a lively ambiance!

I finally made it out to Tauro tonight for a pie. I wasn't disappointed. I eat a lot of pizza and…read morethis is seriously good stuff. Particularly considering their cooking on a gozney oven stuffed into a food cart. It's actually a gas fired oven so it's more wood oven style. But that matters little for the taste. I went with a pepperoni and asked to add hongos to which the pizzaolo obliged my request. About 5 minutes later I was handed a piping hot pie and charged $14. But it was only after my first bite when I knew what a steal this is. The crust was nicely charred but also a delicate chew. The sauce is fresh, tangy with a great tomato flavor. The cheese must have had done parm sprinkled on because it was way for flavorful than mozz alone. And toppings tasted fresh and were plentiful. Impressive for sure. The block where the cart sits is super quiet with only a laundromat and another street vendor selling some leche de arroz. I'll have to wash my next pue down with sone of that next time. Nowhere to sit so it's more of a Togo or delivery setup. I'll def be ordering from here again in the future. I can't help think how much hype this cart would have in a more active and affluent area. But something about this cart serving pizza amongst a sea of tacos is so perfect. Keep Queens Real!

I am a sucker for discoveries. So I cheated a little and saw a TikTok of a guy going into the…read moremiddle of Corona to buy pizza, what????? The Tiktok was pretty cool, they highlighted this guy who has a wood fired pizza oven on the corner of 111th st and 37th Ave. I thought the pizza looked great so I decided to drive over, the pizza takes a few minutes to make but it was well worth it. The price was super reasonable at $12-$15 a pie depending on the toppings and comes with 6 slices. Overall, I had a great experience but it didn't occur to me that today was raining, so the crust today felt a little under but because it was raining it would totally affect the outcome of the pie. I will be back to make a second visit. He has a google page and his ig is https://instagram.com/tauro_wfpizza?igshid=MjkzY2Y1YTY=. I would drive and I would also call ahead if you are in a rush. His hours are Tues-Sun 5pm to 11pm. The food: Quattro Stagion Pizza- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, mushroom, ham, basil, black olives. I thought this was great, it was also my fav. I really enjoyed the fresh toppings and the addition of the fresh basil made a huge difference. With all their pies their tomato sauce is amazing. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=YzPjNisPpVk8ThPDNFhYnw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Mexicana- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage, jalapeno, onion and basil. This was really interesting and of course it had some heat. The sausage which I think was chorizo had a good texture and taste. I think they ran out of jalapeno so they used I think serrano chilies instead and even though they sliced it thin, it did have a punch of heat which I enjoyed. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FTw2BoY3afJLG9KrgS_K3g&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Margeurita- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. This was the most simple but two out of the four of us said it was their fav. I did like it but to me it was a bit bare. Overall, it's good for purist. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=VIHHlQqiYbYxovpPW70VRg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA
