Third time being at okay noodle. This time I wanted to try something different, so I ordered their traditional hot pot rice. You pick the protein, but everything else comes the same. The dish takes about 20 minutes since they cook it with cripsy rice in the bottom. The service was good and the staff was attentive, but the food itself ended up being pretty underwhelming. The crispy rice added some texture, but overall the dish lacked flavor. Glad I got to try something new. However, it isn't something I would order again.

Heard of this place from a Canto friend and decided to check it out even though it's a trek! There's street parking outside, but it really depends on your luck. I heard that this place is operated by the people behind "E Noodle" in Flushing. The menu's very similar, but with some additions. I think their noodles are legit Cantonese. The server we had, a lady, was very attentive and friendly.

Great local place with some delicious Hong Kong / Chinese food. The clay pot rice is good. The soup dumplings are freshly made and never frozen. The ambience is cozy and the service is great. We've been here a few times now and the quality of the food is constantly good. The best part is the welcoming staff. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. Good for rainy or sunny days.

I saw a review suggesting that the success of a Hong Kong restaurant is largely based on its milk tea, and I completely disagree. That's a pretty narrow and unfair take. Okay Noodle is a Cantonese-style restaurant, not just a "Hong Kong milk tea spot." They have dishes that reflect traditional Cantonese cooking beyond any single drink. Judging a restaurant like this solely on milk tea misses the bigger picture of what makes Cantonese cuisine great. That said, I really enjoyed my meal at Okay Noodle. In Elmhurst, it is hard to find especially for claypot rice. The Cantonese food is legit, comforting, flavorful, and done right. The noodles were bouncy. The food here speaks for itself. If you're looking for solid, authentic Cantonese food, Okay Noodle delivers. And if you are looking for Cantonese comfort food, this one hits the spot. One down side is that they don't serve Congee. I like my fried dough with congee. Beyond the food, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained, and even the bathroom is spotless. The food comes out fast!

Every staff member was super young--barely legal or not even. Every interaction felt like staff were practicing their lines, playing a role in a play, and us, customers, were just cast. Waiters and buss boys were speaking to us like we were dumb/deaf/on the spectrum/high/drunk. It was so disconcerting. Never had such weird experience. Made me so uncomfortable. We were the first ones in the door with 11am reservation on a Saturday. The place filled up quickly. High noise level. Not the best for large groups. The burgers sell out quickly, as only 68 are prepared daily, so we snagged those right away. So delicious. Double smashed cheeseburger--simple and satisfying. Very rich. Would return for this again. French toast was disappointing. Looked pretty but tasted of nothing. It wasn't French toast in a traditional preparation: it was bread pudding cut into a slice and drizzled with syrup and served French toast style. The texture was of a moist but bland bread pudding. Utterly disappointing. Skip. War potatoes (crispy potatoes that are served as a side, with a dollop of super spicy sauce) were very tasty. Double or triple fried to a crispy perfection. Love me some perfectly crisp potatoes. These are super caloric, so prepare for some heartburn after. Ask for war sauce on the side because it is SPICY. House made pistachio gelato was superb. So many pistachios--I'd eat this daily and would return for this!

Some sort of sweet glaze blended within the lemon pepper seasoning delicious. Also enjoyed the ranch dipping sauce which tasted homemade. The blue cheese was also great with a sharp taste. Burger was delicious! Every aspect complimented eachother. Normally I don't like American cheese on my burger but it worked on this one. Sauce and onions were perfection. The pickles were also great too. The pickles reminded me of a Japanese style appetizer I can't remeber the name of Delicious sweet potato fries and dipping sauce. The sauce Reminded me of a bang bang shrimp type dipping sauce. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. Felt like they worked as a team. Bummed I didn't take more pictures, because all of the food was delicious!

Very low key and unassuming, especially at night... I ordered the Seneca burger (a smash burger), and added bacon. It was good, but $12 for a smash burger feels a bit steep. Good... but not $12 good. I also got the sweet potato fries, which were delicious and crispy. It came with a horseradish(?) dipping sauce that worked surprisingly well. They also had some interesting cocktail options. I'd come back for brunch or an early dinner to try more from the menu.

My friend and I decided to share everything. We ordered: GARLIC NAAN 5/5 These garlic naans were probably the best we've both tried. As soon as we took a bite, we are both impressed. And to think that we would have missed out if our server didn't suggest it... These particular naans are made different from the traditional Iones. They are coated with buttery goodness and are super thin. The hummus on the side was also a very good pairing. I would recommend this app. PORK JHOL MOMO 5/5 These pork momos were also super delicious! Comparing it to the ones I've had at another restaurant, there is no overpowering cilantro in this one! The momo itself was very juicy. The flavor of the inside and the soup was delicious. Another must-get! CHICKEN KHAJA PLATTER 4/5 My friend and I were probably the least impressed with this one. A lot of the dish includes a lot of dry ingredients like popped rice & soybean seeds. They also used cold meats and veggies. It was great to try each portion of the platter, but wasn't our personal favorites of our visit here. Overall, we had a delicious lunch. We throughly enjoyed our experience here and would definitely recommend this local spot. I did think it was worth the trip over.
