Choi sum with brisket sauce (I asked for no oyster sauce and the lady immediately offered to add brisket sauce)

Heard of this place from a Canto friend and decided to check it out even though it's a trek! There's street parking outside, but it really depends on your luck. I heard that this place is operated by the people behind "E Noodle" in Flushing. The menu's very similar, but with some additions. I think their noodles are legit Cantonese. The server we had, a lady, was very attentive and friendly.

Third time being at okay noodle. This time I wanted to try something different, so I ordered their traditional hot pot rice. You pick the protein, but everything else comes the same. The dish takes about 20 minutes since they cook it with cripsy rice in the bottom. The service was good and the staff was attentive, but the food itself ended up being pretty underwhelming. The crispy rice added some texture, but overall the dish lacked flavor. Glad I got to try something new. However, it isn't something I would order again.

Great local place with some delicious Hong Kong / Chinese food. The clay pot rice is good. The soup dumplings are freshly made and never frozen. The ambience is cozy and the service is great. We've been here a few times now and the quality of the food is constantly good. The best part is the welcoming staff. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. Good for rainy or sunny days.

I saw a review suggesting that the success of a Hong Kong restaurant is largely based on its milk tea, and I completely disagree. That's a pretty narrow and unfair take. Okay Noodle is a Cantonese-style restaurant, not just a "Hong Kong milk tea spot." They have dishes that reflect traditional Cantonese cooking beyond any single drink. Judging a restaurant like this solely on milk tea misses the bigger picture of what makes Cantonese cuisine great. That said, I really enjoyed my meal at Okay Noodle. In Elmhurst, it is hard to find especially for claypot rice. The Cantonese food is legit, comforting, flavorful, and done right. The noodles were bouncy. The food here speaks for itself. If you're looking for solid, authentic Cantonese food, Okay Noodle delivers. And if you are looking for Cantonese comfort food, this one hits the spot. One down side is that they don't serve Congee. I like my fried dough with congee. Beyond the food, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained, and even the bathroom is spotless. The food comes out fast!

My three-star rating reflects the pricing rather than the quality. At nearly $50 for two modestly sized dishes, the cost felt excessive, especially considering the food was comparable to other solid Chinese restaurants in the area. You can argue that is due to the third party delivery fees, but I've never come across such a pricing for such portions sizes on delivery apps.

It's just right. Then the filling. The pork was delicious. It was soft and flavorful. Now the broth inside these dumplings. These were the soupiest soup dumplings I've had. This place tops Nan Xiang on Prince St IMO. The soup is just.... Perfection. This is a rich multidimensional flavored broth. I could tell a lot of time went into this. The owners told me they make everything fresh, made-to-order. THEIR CHILI OIL IS AMAZING. The owners are so so nice. Clean beautiful space with lots of seating. Great prices. We also got the beef stir fry udon which was DELICIOUS, the takoyaki which was DELICIOUS, and bubble tea/fruit teas which were all DELICIOUS. The Chacha Noodles with Fried Pork Belly.came out steaming hot from the kitchen. Bouncy noodles paired with crisp veggies balanced well together. The pork was crisp as well, though some pieces were a bit overdone. I do wish the pieces were sliced a bit bigger... maybe would help it not be overdone. They give a good amount though. I love the hot sauce. The Butterfly Pea Lemonade was a little on the sweet side for me, but had a good amount of sourness to balance most of it out. A decent Thai spot in the area.

The window seat was cute, but it was hotter indoors than it was outside, which was a little crazy, we were literally rolling beads of sweat while eating and not from the spice. We got a few appetizers and some main courses. I have the pad see ew and vegetable dumplings which both were lovely. You're not coming here for the service honestly, as there was close to none, I must've called the server at least a dozen times and he was in his phone chilling. I don't know if I'll be back, maybe in the winter. It was just a strange experience on the whole, even with the food being good... yah who knows if I'll be back!
