Good food, but few caveats: 1) they really push the all-you-can-eat here but they also have single portion entrees and if one person at your table doesn't order all you can eat, no one can; 2) the location on Broadway is kinda small and the parking lot is small. We ended up parking on the street. Not a big deal for me, but if you don't want to leave your car on the street, get here early to get a parking spot. Our table of five ordered the unlimited BBQ. The servers brought around the first helping of everything and were very good about explaining what was what so we could specify what we wanted when we reordered. We were there on a Saturday, which meant that the wait staff were very busy. They did their best to keep all drinks filled, ingredients coming, etc. but it was busy so a little patience was required. Also, they don't provide lettuce leaves automatically with your BBQ order, but if you want to wrap your meat up like a taco or burrito in a leaf, you can ask and they'll provide lettuce. The side dishes are unlimited along with the BBQ, so we left very, very full. The side sauces are tasty, but I preferred the soybean paste. I will admit that Dae Gee does not compare to the best Korean BBQ restaurants in the LA or the DMV areas, so if you have out-of-town guests from CA or VA, I wouldn't bring them here. She got an array of different meats. I, however, ordered the shrimp option, and received 8 shrimp, total. Apparently, they forgot to tell me that all I get for $30. is 8 shrimp! When I saw that dad gee was on diners, drive inn and dives from guy's food network show, I was pretty hype to try this place. Having had korean bbq in LA, NY and around the DMV, I never heard of the korean food scene in the Midwest so I may have had too high of an expectation as DAE GEE KOREAN BBQ was just ok. The service here is real friendly and accommodating. Visiting from out of town, and needing a table for one, their menu consists of an all you can meat korean bbq option but it is only for a party of 2 or more but they allowed me to get my own table which I truly appreciated. They were open to explaining how it worked because one of the cuts of meat you are only allowed one serving and is not apart of the buffet unless you pay a $10 upcharge to the already $24 price point. The quality of meat is what lacks here, it is also not seasoned that well. I tried using their 3 sauces that they have in bottles on each table but they were all real salty or too sweet. The best cut of meat by far was the pork belly. Normally korean bbq brisket is real lean, cooks quick and melts like butter in yo mouth but their cuts were real dry and chewy....they do give you a ton of side dishes which was awesome and were a lot better in checking in on you and refilling your side dishes, rice, or drinks than other places but the food wasn't impressive. With multiple locations all around the Denver area. I heard the place gets really packed but when I went it was pretty dead. A lot of the natives recommended this place as well so maybe the prepped meat was just a bad batch but for my experience, the food was not it. read more

Oh my goodness! I visited this restaurant after a tiring round of Top Golf with some friends and we ate like starving sailors! Dae Gee has a solid price for unlimited meat so we had round after round. The variety is excellent and being able to cook the food to your liking is a plus. If I am ever in the area and want to impress friends with a casual Korean BBQ restaurant, I will be sure to take them to Dae Gee in Denver. read more

I've been a long time customer of the Dae Gee Korean barbecue chain. My last visit was three days ago, and it will be my last. I was surprised to see that the once $14 lunch all you can eat has now risen to $18. The menu has shrunken considerably, and the staff seem overworked. Compared to other kbbq restaurants, this one seems the most Americanized. The pork belly is thin. The other meat cuts are mediocre in quality. I'm sad to see such great restaurant concept turn into an unsatisfying experience for a long time customer. On a positive note, the bibimbop bowl hasn't changed price and is still delicious. We came here for our 7th anniversary and let me tell you, this place is the bomb! We did the unlimited BBQ and had a couple bottles of the flavored Soju. Soju definitely helped with that Spicy Pork! Came here with a couple of friends for dinner. We were warmly greeted at the door and asked if we would like a grill table. The other two in my party ordered the $24 all you can eat dinner. This came with pork belly, pork, ribeye beef, chicken and brisket. The food arrived on a plate with some in bowls and with a plethora of sides... Napa cabbage kimchee Cucumber kimchee Porto salad Fermented onion and jalapeños Kimchee pancake Pickled yellow Korean radish Fish cakes with vegetables I ordered the chicken dumplings, Korean chicken with red chili sauce and a watermelon soju. The guys had a great time grilling their own meat and the waitress was attentive to when the grill needed to be changed. The dumplings were crispy and flavorful and came with a dipping sauce. The Korean chicken was good, however the sauce was far to sweet for my liking and the chicken was drenched in it. I ended up using another plate and taking off excess sauce with a utensil. Much better with lighter sauce! The soju was marked up quite a bit. Overall this was a good experience and we will be back if in the area. read more

I love going to any and all Dae Gee locations, this one was my most recent visit. It was a busy Monday night in the restaurant, lots of big tables with tall orders. My group and I were very thankful for the two guys taking care of our drink/food orders. Sides were good, meat for grilling was given quickly. The hot stone bowls took a sec for our vegan friends, but that was understandable due to how they're prepared. I wanted to love this place because I love BBQ, Asian food, and meat... but I didn't. Maybe that's because we ordered off of the entrees instead of doing the "all you can eat/cook it yourself option," but it was just meh. We had the ribeye which was relatively flavorless and the short rib which was fatty/greasy and had a bone in it. The bone would have been fine if we had silverware, but there was no way around this with just chopsticks and a spoon! The sides were fine I suppose- most everything was pickled and tasted more alike then different. The vibe in the restaurant was sort of austere- not especially inviting, nothing cultural- just sort of a gray, industrial space. I have been to Dae Gee 15-20 times now b/c I LOVE Korean BBQ. Dae Gee is probably 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up likely because of a bias towards Korean food, and the people there are super nice. With any entree or all-you-can eat BBQ, you get unlimited rice and sides. The sides are delicious. My favorites are the broccoli, marinated beef, fish cakes, and pancakes. But friends of mine love the kimchee and others. Plus, the sides and rice adds up to basically an extra meal. I usually order an entree and then take the entree home because it's so much food. We have ordered several different entrees at Dae Gee: - Unlimited BBQ or individual BBQ dishes: The unlimited BBQ where you cook at the table is a lot of fun. I especially love the bulgogi (beef, pork, or chicken), but most of them are tasty. I'm actually not a big fan of the Galbee (beef short ribs) because I find them tough, which works out because it's much more expensive than the rest of the options. - Gook: Beef broth soup with veggies, herbs, brisket, and dumplings/rice cakes. I found this soup to be pretty tasteless. The dumplings and veggies are tasty though. If you want something light, this is a fine option, but don't expect a burst of flavor. - Bee Him Bhop: By itself, this dish isn't super exciting, but has a nice variety of veggies and sauce. You really have to add meat to make the dish. I also usually add some of their homemade BBQ sauce for more flavor. - Soon Dobu Cheegae: Bold flavors and delicious. Also pretty spicy, but perfect amount in my opinion. If you don't like spice, don't get this though. The lunch prices are also more reasonable, so go for lunch if you can. But given the unlimited rice and sides, dinner prices aren't bad. Also, unless you eat A LOT, you don't need to get the unlimited BBQ. If you order the same number of entrees as people, or even one less, you'll be fine, and you'll save a bunch of money. read more

I really loved this place and the food has always been great. I continued going to them after the fire department made them get rid of most of the cooking tables. I continued going to them when covid made it "To Go" only. When they were able to be open, I continued going and supporting them. A friend and I went and ate and got the all you can eat. We wanted to also try some shrimp and scallops. We asked if we could get a side of those to try them. They were delicious. When the bill came I noticed they had charged us full meals for both the shrimp and scallops. They were charging us four meals for two people. I asked when they came back if that was right. After all I could understand an extra charge but not two full meal charges. We had spent money on drinks, and were the only people there and they told us "that's the rules". They are generous when it comes to refills on the banchan (sides dishes) wait staff was nice and attentive when we were running low on anything. The staff is extremely friendly and great at explaining how it all works to newbies. Compared to other Korean BBQ places the options are more limited and "tame" here so if you are a first timer or bringing a picky eater this will be the best place to start them! They have some delicious short ribs but unfortunately they only give you two of them. Came here to celebrate my son's birthday, he loves Korean BBQ and we brought him because of it. I wasn't very hungry but could eat something just not the unlimited BBQ. Unfortunately either everyone eats the unlimited or nobody does. I couldn't order a $38 dish to eat two bites so I was left without dinner because of their ridiculous "policy ". We spent over $120 and I was left out of the celebration. It is ridiculous and have never experienced something like this. This place is getting an avg of 4-stars because there aren't any other KOREAN BBQ option really. I travel a lot for work and the worst chain KOREAN BBQ places in Cali are better than Dae Gee. Pros: AYCE which is pretty much mandatory for a KOREAN BBQ joint. The spare ribs are good but you're only allowed 1 order. The spicy pork is also good. The staff is friendly. Their Bulgogi has very little fat. Cons: The grill isn't gas, but electric and if you're at a table with 2 grills, one doesn't have temperature control. The meat selection is EXTREMELY limited and there is no seafood to order from the AYCE menu. The pork belly was almost all fat. The sides are minimalist compared to most Korean BBQ restaurants. There are no dipping sauces outside of their own BBQ sauces which I did not try. There was no salt. If you were going with just plain Chadol you weren't getting much flavor. I really like KOREAN bbq so was excited for this place but will probably not return nor recommend. read more

Server was definitely on the attentive side and the sides and meat kept flowing. Meat quality was also definitely above average. My one complaint was that the bottled BBQ sauce was rather average and watery. I would definitely stick with asking for some gojuchang and fermented bean paste to mix and use as dipping sauce. This is my second time having Dae Gee. The first time I had the bbq. The bbq is great and it's unlimited! It was the first bbq I had since coming back from Korea and it did not disappoint! I went yesterday for lunch and ordered some prepared foods: seafood pancake, bip bimp bop, and galbi. So so good and cooked perfectly. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Denver metro area. The Broadway location and the Arvada location in particular are incredible. I used to go to the Arvada location once every other week and then the Broadway location similarly when I lived near there. The Colorado Blvd location doesn't have the same quality unfortunately. The service at Colorado Blvd is significantly slower, you can be the only person in the restaurant with an empty water and no one comes by. The service at Broadway and Arvada location is miles better. Food is incredible everywhere. Great value in the multiple sides. The BBQ is great, the Bibimbap however is the best in the city my opinion. The Galbee ribs are incredible but since they've raised the price for the lunch portion it gets in the awkward too small of a portion for an entree, too expensive for an appetizer. Only other critiques are that in house you have sauces on the tables with free access, if you order Togo, they have no small portion options. 50 cents or a $1 for a 1 ounce Togo ramekin would be reasonable but the only option is around $6 per sauce for the ones that are free on the table. I one made the mistake of asking for small sides of the sauces and they adjusted my tab by an additional $18 without asking me. It makes me less likely to order take out versus coming in and taking a table but it isn't a deal breaker. Unfortunately the Colorado Boulevard location still hasn't updated their Uber eats to even give you the option to order the bibimbap so even when I do deliver it, I use the Broadway location even though it's further away. Anyway, the food is incredible and with the additional sides it is a great value. It is not without kinks and the management of the Colorado Boulevard location is significantly lacking compared to the Broadway and Arvada locations but I still think it's worth 5 stars. Best Korean restaurant in Denver in my opinion and well worth checking out! read more

Dae Gee is polished. It's a great place for those who are new to Korean food. It's friendly, approachable, and tasty. I love me some banchan, and there's a nice variety here at Dae Gee. As a novice at eating Korean food, I love their kimchee. It's flavorful, but not as strong and spicy as it can be at other places. I like the kimchee pancake and radish and pretty much every other small dish they put in front of me. The galbi is my favorite. I like the pork and the beef. The Dae Gee sauce is good! I also like the bibimbop. And the zucchini pancake was really delicious. On every visit to any location, staff are always attentive and friendly. Our 3rd diner arrived very late, but we never felt rushed. I tried the Pig Out Pils that they made with Odyssey, and it was a good beer to accompany barbecue. read more

After hearing all the hype about Korean bbq from all my friends, I was excited to try it but I wish I went to a different restaurant for my first time. The atmosphere of this place was good, though. It was bright and trendy looking. The service, however, was lacking. We had a waiter that sat us down in t he beginning and we saw him maybe 1 other time. The rest of the time we ended up asking for more meat from whichever server would pay attention to us. Not sure if that's just how they run things but I think my service experience would have benefited from more consistency. Our original waiter didn't even tell us his name. As for the food, can't really complain. From what I hear, $20ish for Korean bbq is a good deal, and you definitely pay for what you get. The deal comes with all of the sides, which is nice but I wish you could choose which sides you want since my group ended up only eating about 4 of them. The meat itself was good and tasted fresh. My favorite was the short ribs, but unfortunately that isn't a part of the all you can eat deal, and if you want more it's an extra $10 a person. I found the sauces to be kind of weird. They're really watery and also carbonated??? All in all, I'm not going to say I don't like Korean bbq, but I don't necessarily like this place. Grilled short ribs is my favorite,and chicken breast is my husband favorite. There are plenty of Korean restaurants all throughout, and the biggest thing Korean restaurants are known for are the COMPLIMENTARY side dishes. They may not always have the best flavors, but there's a certain expectation when visiting a Korean restaurant. Korean meals are ALWAYS served with a variety of side dishes. I'm visiting Denver for work and was craving some good ol Korean food so came by this place since I saw it on Guy Fieri's triple D. My wife and I ordered some garlic wings and kimchi pancake since we've been hitting up the bars in the area and wanted to munch on some good ol Korean food. The kimchi pancake was disappointing. The texture/crispyness and the dipping sauce was well made, but the kimchi pancake had NO actual kimchi in it. It was just made with the kimchi "juice" that the kimchi sits in to ferment/marinade. It's like ordering blueberry pancakes for breakfast and not having any actual blueberries in it. The wings were cooked well but the garlic flavoring wasn't the best. The sauce was very watery and salty, and actually not on the wings at all (you have to roll the wings in the sauce every bite). I'm used to garlic wings being cooked/tossed in the sauce. And, the kicker, we came to a Korean restaurant for the side dishes but we weren't given any side dishes. We were told they aren't given with "appetizers" and only the entree. We had thought we were ordering the half order of the kimchi pancake for $8 (same cost as the appetizer), but were told after the fact that that option is only available for Togo. We spent a combined total on appetizers greater than the cost of an entree. The waitresses were polite and I know they're just upholding the policy of the restaurant. But for Korean restaurants being known for their homey comfort food style, this place is not upholding the true tradition of a Korean restaurant at all. An overall disappointing experience for such a "popular" name in the area. If you're in the area and craving Korean food, the pickings are slim. If you're not craving it or don't really know what to expect, I'd recommend a hard pass. read more
