I took a group of seven there last night. Let me start with the positive. The steak blue cheese salad was good. The salmon was pretty nice as well. The rest of the meal was horrible. The macaroni didn't have any taste. The steak and Frites were so overpriced For what you got and the presentation on the plating was laughable. The skillet cookie was runny and not even properly cooked. Everything was extremely overpriced. While our waitress was nice, I think we saw her three times total. There were three servers for the entire restaurant on a busy Friday night so this wasn't her fault. It took us forever to get our bill and then forever Again for us to get our credit cards back. This was my first and last time to ever go to this restaurant. read more

Delicious spot in City Center. Lovely patio to sit out and enjoy the breeze when Houston weather allows. Reservations highly recommended for their weekend dining. I have had their lunch and brunch menus. Delicious all around. Even my kids absolutely enjoy the food. Love the healthier alternative options that I don't see very often at other places. Like the smashed avacado. My youngest loves! Calamari appetizer during the weekday lunch is my favorite. Thr dipping sauce is perfection. Salmon board for brunch is my go-to. The decor is beautiful. Ambience and vibes are so chill. Staff are wonderful. Our waitresses we've had were nice, attentive, and efficient. Daily Gather was wonderful brunch boards to share. Highly recommend to share! Mediocre food and terrible service. Our waiter didn't take up the fourth place setting for our table of three until we asked. We also kept having to ask him to refill our water jug - no proactive action that we would expect from a slightly nicer than average restaurant. We barely saw our server while we saw the server of surrounding tables multiple times. The worst part was that we finished our meal and only 1 of 3 drinks arrived despite us asking repeatedly for our server to check. Surprisingly, the only drink that arrived was the latte (not the BEER or green juice). The food is pretty standard but not something I would gather daily for. read more

I stop by Daily Gather each time I'm in town for work and it never fails to disappoint. Whether you sit inside our outside the servers and staff are friendly, quick, and can give great suggestions. The menu has lots of food and drink options: many diverse entrees, selection of appetizers to share for the table, and both alcoholic + nonalcoholic drinks. - campanelle mac and cheese: creamy but a little stickier/chewier than I expected? The bacon added great flavor though - calamari fritto misto: not too oily and greasy, not too salty, the batter stayed on well - cacio e pepe frites: perfect golden color with just the right cut, crispy, topped w lots of parmesan and pepper that accented the taste - shrimp: very large pieces of shrimp, there wasn't much seasoning / only enough to enhance the original taste of the shrimp, which I preferred - oysters on the half shell: probably the biggest let down for me, the oysters were very small and thin - anacino: my favorite appetizer, the crispy rice balls and sauce paired very well together - short rib and mushroom risotto: soo good. huge piece of short rib that was so soft it easily tore into small pieces when I cut into it. the meat was tender, filled with flavor. risotto was creamy and thick but not chunky. great pairing and very filling. - apple and peach cobbler: also very good! there was a slight spice that added a great kick and I loved the contrast between the cold vanilla ice cream and the warm cobbler crust Overall, a great spot for work dinners or occasions. read more

Had a birthday dinner here recently on a Sunday nightand enjoyed my first visit. Overall the restaurant is decorated very well for the Christmas season. It wasn't too busy and the staff was very kind. The service was alright but a bit on the slower side. We tried the arancini and oysters for apps and both were excellent. The only downside of the arancini is it is a very small dish (only four balls). The oysters were fresh and very delicious! I also had the spaghetti Lola with shrimp which was very good but the portion size was fairly small for the price. That seemed to be the theme for a lot of the food here, tastes great but portion is very small. This even applied to the kids meals. The manager came by toward the end of our meal and offered the kids extra juice boxes which was nice. The actual wait staff was a bit slower but the food came out fairly quickly after ordering. read more

I recently visited Daily Gather for a few starters and cocktails and really loved the cocktails but not so much some of the food. The bartenders are skilled and I look forward to a happy hour there soon. However, my calamari was slightly overcooked but was well seasoned. My meatballs in tomato sauce didn't have the robust flavor I wanted. Our third dish was the roasted cauliflower and it was a real treat, must do. The restaurant has a spacious modern decor with a beautiful bar designed to accommodate several patrons. There is plenty of outdoor seating ideal for dining and people watching. read more

The deviled eggs... delicious. The rest of our meal - not even remotely good. We were seated promptly, but barely waited on. They blamed a "staff shift change," yet we watched another patron walk in after us and be waited on promptly - and by our server no less. My salad was the size of a small side salad, but cost the same as an entree. My kids' food was overly seasoned and room temperature at best. The meal was more than $100 and not at all worth it. I haven't tried the brunch yet but I give 5 stars for excellent service even if I was only getting drinks and a snack. The decor is very cute and inviting. It was warm so we sat on the patio. Our waiter, Priest, was excellent. He did a great job explaining the menu and was very attentive. I will ask for him the next time I visit. Both drinks were light and refreshing. The lavender 75 was nice. You can taste the lavender but it wasn't as sweet as I expected. I made a cocktail with their Ginger Strawberry Lemonade and added a shot of gin. my family and I had a lovely experience here! We sat outside (in August in Texas?!?!) and we're quite comfortable overlooking the green area where our kids were able to run around. our was very kind and helpful in navigating the massive menu. She was prompt when ordering in checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was a good value for money and we enjoyed the chefs board sampler as well as cocktails and wine. For the Manager came and checked in on us as well and we could see everyone working together and good teamwork from the manager all the way down to the support staff. Had an amazing lunch for my birthday. Our server Brittany was EVERYTHING! She was so sweet and immediately made us feel so taken care of and comfortable! We did the lunch 2 course for $25 and the food was amazing. Brittany surprised me with a free dessert and nobody (not even my husband) even told her it was my birthday! Daily Gather is located in the ever so busy City Center of the Memorial District. Parking is always tough, but I was lucky on this day to find a spot near to my destination. The place is nice. It's very chic with an open concept, retro style seating and big beautiful windows. I had the Brisket "French Dip" with fries. It was so good! The brisket was tender with excellent flavor, the mushrooms were a perfect add and the pretzel bun made it even better! The horseradish was very tasty too. The service was good, but atmosphere was pretty loud, so it made it hard to talk. I was a little upset our 1:00 o'clock reservation didn't get us seated until 1:20. I was on my lunch break, so time was very important. Daily Gather is a cute place and I hope they stay. I love ginger and the strawberry ginger lemonade did not disappoint but if you are not a big fan of ginger this is not for you. I ordered the shrimp and grits which were good. I am not a fan of having the tail left on my shrimp but I know a lot of restaurants do this. The corn was a surprise a good one but a bit more seasoning in the grits would have been nice. The pancakes were way too big for a two year old but she loved the one half she ate. It was nice to see grapes and blackberries in the fruit instead of cantaloupe since my niece does not like it. Just to give a heads up on my rating: I'm typically torn between a 3 and 4 but 4 means you'll see me coming back. Daily Gather - I'm a bit torn whether I would be back! The interior was quite lovely! I had reservations for Sunday dinner and it was not busy at all. We were seated at a table with a bench but after a while, regretted it because of the lack of back support. No worries - we just needed to work on our posture more. Service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. We started with the poblano guacamole, truffle mushroom focaccia, roasted cauliflower and salmon ceviche tostados. The guacamole was... well guacamole. Nothing really stood out. The focaccia was good but drenched in parmesan and pesto. I liked the flavors but would've preferred my focaccia crispy rather soggy. The roasted cauliflower was not well received. It wasn't horrible, but it's nothing something we were excited about. The salmon ceviche tostados was described as marinated in nuoc cham which is the prepared fish sauce that you dip Vietnamese egg rolls in or that you pour over a bowl of vermicelli. I was curious to see how it would turn out. As a Vietnamese person, I was confused with this dish. If the salmon was marinated then cooked then it might've been better but I didn't care for the raw salmon in fish sauce. My entrée was the steak and frites. The steak was cooked beautifully at medium rare. It was a little salty, but I didn't mind it too much. The presentation, however, was awful. It looked like a child's plate with the main course and fries thrown onto the plate. The only positive note to the presentation was that I did like that the frites had some of the steak juice on them. It gave the frites more flavor. As stated the beginning, I'm torn about whether I would come back. Nothing on the menu stands out and none of the plates we had had a wow factor. read more
