This original Dairi-O has been around forever it seems, but it's only been since 1947, when it opened as a take out only burger and hot dog joint, with milk shakes as well. The tiny spot remained the same until 2010 when a new, contemporary structure was built close by. Over the years, the menu has grown to include additional sandwich choices (BBQ, chicken, fish, chicken souvlaki, grilled cheese, and wraps), as well as soups and salads. And the number of locations has risen to 11, stretching from Jacksonville to Hendersonville. I have tried much of the current menu here - hot dogs several different ways including with kraut, burgers from a simple cheeseburger to the monster burger, the fish sandwich, the chicken sandwich, the FFs, ice cream, and even the banana split. These are all very good items, ideal for a quick lunch or a snack

My daughter has tried Dairi-o on her commute from home to college and, as a vegetarian, loves that they have vegetarian options. I, knowing they have soft serve ice cream, have always wanted to try it and had my chance today. Husband and I were hungry on a road trip and decided we needed a little cone to tide us over. However, it seemed a better value to just go with the large cone. Wow, was it large. I am now stuffed but happy. Cone was perfect flavor, temp and consistency. We just went through the drive through but the place had a Chick-fil-a vibe with the red and white decor, clear but colorful menu and excellent and correct service. I'd definitely like to visit again and try some of their non dessert items.

I was drawn to come here because I like Dari-O and I thought the outside looked like a fun place to eat. King is a nearby town, but the location is not close to a highway so you will need to tour King to get there. It looked clean outside and in and I decided to go a different path and got a BBQ sandwich combo and got a chocolate shake for a drink. The sandwich was a chopped pork was okay but for the price it was a good value. The chocolate shake was not that great and although made with soft serve ice cream it was not that creamy and difficult to drink. A nice spot to have a quick and inexpensive meal.

Paid $6.39 for around a 12oz milk shake (they only have one size). I waited 15 minutes in the drive thru listening to the workers explain how they'd messed up other orders. I've lived in the area my whole life and have always gone here, but after the last few times, I'm done.

My wife has been mentioning Dairi-O since we've arrived in North Carolina. Today, we were on our way back to Winston from Hanging Rock State Park and saw there was one in King. We were both hungry so we stopped to grab something to eat. We had no idea that the original Dairi-O was in King. We immediately thought the exterior of the building was cool and there was ample parking and even an outdoor area to eat your meal. There is also a drive-through. We stepped inside and were immediately greeted by a young lady who helped us get familiar with the menu. My wife inquired about the ice cream since she didn't see any information on the menu board and was told that if we wanted to order ice cream it was best to go to the ice cream counter so we could look at the options. My wife chose the Apple Crisp Chicken Salad with a bottled water and I chose the Monster burger since I saw it was a 6.4 oz. burger vs. their standard hamburger which was 3.2 oz. I also ordered fries. I was surprised to see that in addition to the routine condiments they also had individual packets of Texas Pete hot sauce, Malt Vinegar and Lemon Juice. Our order number was called in a timely manner and we took a seat inside. My wife enjoyed her salad and her only complaint is they use an iceberg mix. I thought my burger and fries were tasty as well. My wife couldn't resist the temptation to order an ice cream cone. There were a lot of great options but she ultimately chose a berry cheesecake flavor although we can't remember exactly which flavor it was. She rated the ice cream and the freshness of the waffle cone a 5! Overall, this was a good experience and we enjoyed our meals, we will be back!

I've been coming here since I was a kid! We used to walk up, order the most delicious hot dogs, and play in the arcade in their second building next door. I almost don't recognize the new building with the massive soda cup out front! Crazy to see how many locations they have now. Their hot dogs are and have always been one of my favorites. I'm from New England where we grill the tops of our buns with butter and Dairio is one of the only places that do this! Their hot dogs are great quality (I know, sounds weird to say about a hot dog but trust me). They grill them slightly and roll the buns in butter and grill them quickly. It creates this amazing crust and the rest is history. Fries are seasoned and delicious as well but if you only get one thing, get a hot dog.

This has been my go-to Dairi-O location since I moved to the area a few years back. There's quite a bit of room on the inside, but I love that they have covered outdoor seating. My usual order is a hotdog combo with fries. Their hot dogs are juicy, topped with fresh, quality toppings, and placed in a buttery grilled bun. The fries are always crispy and pair perfectly with their homemade ranch. I also try to save some room for a scoop of ice cream when I'm there. They have over 25 flavors, but I'm a sucker for the strawberry cheesecake. This last visit I switched it up a little and got a salad, the Dairi-O All Star Salad to be exact. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of it. All the veggies tasted fresh, and the chicken souvlaki was seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be ordering it again.

As it turns out, P B Clark's is a restaurant the likes of which you'll see in or near most small towns. Meat and 2 sides, lots of fish, somewhat worn interior, not super clean, wait staff who are regular people. I've seen it plenty of times and I generally like these places because they are predictable and serve good basic food. P B Clark's is no different. The girl who waited on us is young and has a sunny personality. Super nice and always available. We were also topped off by another nice girl, possibly another waitress or a food runner. I ordered the Friday special catfish with fries and hush puppies. I'm giving this review a 4-star because of the staff and the fish. Otherwise, it would be a three star. The catfish had a ton of flavor and needed nothing for a frozen, breaded, deep fried catfish filet. The hushpuppies were bland, the fries were slightly undercooked and needed salt. My friend had a burger which appeared to be good. Would I go back? Yes, I would.

I had called ahead and asked when a good time on Saturday to arrive for a group our size. They shared that breakfast was the busiest time but if we arrived after 11:30 we shouldn't have any problem. These folks know their business, they were spot on! We pulled a few tables together. Our server was extraordinarily patient as our group trickled in arriving in King from Winston-Salem. I think she was very much surprised when 10 out of the 12 us ordered hot dog plates. We started with an order of buffalo chips and they were very much enjoyed along with the ranch they were served with. I think we all enjoyed our hot dogs (mine with chili, mustard, and onions, was great). We had a variety of sides and people spoke highly of the fried okra, banana pudding, sweet potato casserole, and fries. I'd definitely return to P.B. Clarks!

We were seated promptly for our Friday night, 6:30pm reservation. Tables were well spaced and never felt cramped. We only ordered the bread basket, You Knead This, as an appetizer; opting for salads to start the meal. The Merc, The Chopped and The Grilled Caesar were liked by all. I personally had the Chopped and it had a great mix of texture and flavors with candied pecans, pickled onions, mandarin oranges and a sweet poppyseed dressing. All six of us ordered steaks, two ribeyes, three filets and one sirloin. All were cooked perfectly ranging from rare to well done. They were well seasoned and most of us chose the Gorgonzola Bacon Butter which was a nice addition. The Brussel Sprout appetizer is a huge crowd favorite, but the side dish is only charred. However, you can request that they prepare them the same way as the appetizer. They were delicious and so were the Au Gratin Potatoes, which were baked in their own little metal crock. Dessert finished up with a Key Lime Crème Brûlée that was delicately flavored with a light touch of lime. We also had a Brownie Sundae that was delicious as expected. Customer service was on point from the greet to the farewell and everything in between. Overall a truly flawless experience.

Luckily for me, my mom's 83rd birthday was coming up so we had a reason to celebrate and she was more than happy to celebrate her birthday dinner with family here. I came hungry because I was prepared to indulge and I am so glad I did. I ordered a small salad instead of an appetizer to start. The Merc salad sounded delicious and it's served with a pomegranate vinaigrette that was perfect. For my entrée, I ordered the petite filet mignon, au gratin potatoes, and the green beans. I probably could have left off the green beans, but I'm so happy I got them because they were amazing as well. Perfectly tender and seasoned. Speaking of seasoning, everything on my plate was perfectly seasoned. There were salt and pepper grinders on the table, but I did not need them at all. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium as I had asked, the au gratin potatoes were tender, creamy and cheesy and I already mentioned how perfectly cooked my green beans were. Normally, we all share a bite of food from our plates that is different from what we ordered however my food was so good I didn't want to share. My husband offered me a bite of his Brussels sprouts and they were SO SO good I might need to get those the next time, but I didn't share my green beans with anyone! After dinner, we ordered a Key Lime crème brûlée which was delightfully bright and the perfect ending to our wonderful dinner. Our server was on point the whole night and kept everyone's glasses filled as well as checking on us. I almost want to gate-keep this place because I want it to stay local so if you go, you didn't hear it from me.
