Orange Julius.. It's a refreshing creamsicle in a cup you can drink through a straw. The group wanted some ice cream cones.. DQ to the rescue! The vanilla cone dipped in chocolate is the fan classic. The Orange Julius is a drink I remember drinking as a kid anytime my parents would buy it for us which wasn't often. It was a sweet treat to enjoy every once in awhile. With that being said, I'm very nostalgic about Orange Julius. I remember as kid every mall had Orange Julius went away and was never to be heard from, but that was true according to online. Dairy Queen has owned Orange Julius since 1987. By 2018, all stand alone independent Orange Julius shops were closed. Orange Julius is now available at all 5,400 Dairy Queen locations. I only knew that Dairy Queen offered Orange Julius was because of the sign saying Dairy Queen and Orange Julius. The Orange Julius was very similar to how I remember it and it was quite tasty, but there was a bit of a strange after taste that kind of turned me off. It was still a nice feeling to be able to try Orange Julius after all these years. I'm not in a rush to get an Orange Julius again anytime soon, but anytime I want to relive my childhood I will have to get another Orange Julius. read more

I had to ask if he was the only location in the Santa Anita Mall ( they used to have an additional location in the food court). He reluctantly answered yes, but never asked if I would like to order something or could he help me with something from Dairy Queen. He had a horrible attitude & must hate his job. Orange Julius brings back some of my fondest childhood memories at mall. My friends and I ordered a handful of their original options, but unfortunately they didn't quite measure up to what I remembered, with the exception of their pina colada. It was exactly what I remembered, if not better. The flavor and the texture was absolutely perfect, while the others were very watery and lackluster. Bummed that I couldn't sell my friends on Orange Julius, but I'm totally satisfied with that hint of nostalgia from the pina colada. Would definitely stop by again if I'm at the mall. read more

This was my first time patronizing this Dairy Queen since it moved to the top floor of Santa Anita mall! It used to be located in the food court area, but now it's across from Peet's Coffee. Due to Covid, Westfield Santa Anita currently has a no eating/drinking inside the mall policy. As a result, Dairy Queen prepares all the orders to go. There was a deal on the DQ app for a $1 regular chocolate dipped ice cream cone that was too goo to resist! After doing a couple of pickups in the mall, I dropped by to redeem the deal. There wasn't too long of a line, and the employee quickly prepared the cone. I loved that they inverted a plastic cup on top to allow for ease in carrying until I stepped outside the mall. Overall, I appreciate the precautions that they're taking during Covid and would definitely return to this location, since chocolate dipped cones are hard to find these days! read more

I ordered the S'mores blizzard and it was super good. Dairy queen is famous for its unique flavors and expensive pricing. I was attended by a young asian man, I am not a fan of describing people by race but he deserves recognition. He attended my family with just positive attitude and was so patient despite the chaotic line and numerous orders. The other girl working was so rude. McD's down on the 1st floor always fails to have their ice cream machine operational, so I went on a mission to find another ice cream place. For quite awhile there was always some sort of construction going on near the stairs to the second floor. By the way those stairs are both a good way of building up a appetite or working off your appetite. Once there the DQ was open and quite a few people ahead of me. But a very cheerful tiny friendly Asian lady was quickly handling everyone with a cheerful smile.   When it was my turn, she had a great sales pitch. I just wanted a plain ice cream cone,  but she was able to persuade us into upscaling our orders despite me being on a  diet. WHAT DIET you ask especially if I'm at an ice cream joint devouring everything in sight.  Sigh....  Is it just me that melts like ice cream when I stare at pictures of their ice cream displays just like when I was a little kid crying for an ice cream cone tugging on mom's purse? Service was good but the two Julius drinks we ordered were lacking in ice. Wasn't like the old days

Having traveled cross-country many years in a row, Dairy Queen has been a mainstay of small towns, highway intersections, and unadulterated flyover state communities for as long as I can remember. Telling someone that you got a blizzard in North Dakota, for example, can have strikingly different meanings depending on the calendar month. For our summer road trips, those Oreo mint blizzards are something to look forward to, after a long day on a very straight highway through the middle of nowhere. All that to say, this suggestion of a Dairy Queen nestled in the midst of the cosmopolitan food court in the Santa Anita mall leaves a bit to be desired. It is currently smaller than it previously was before, which is saying something... It was never more than a glorified island counter in the middle of the food court proper. The high school kid working the joint still does a reasonably good job of mixing the proper ingredients, but without being able to see a cornfield from the parking lot, or watch a feller wearing a John Deere hat go through the drive-through on a riding mower somehow detract from the experience. If you've ever enjoyed the Dairy Queen in Wall, South Dakota or Greenfield, Indiana... Well, you know what I'm talking about. Visiting a Dairy Queen is, believe it or not, less about the ice cream, and more about the Americana cultural experience. That just doesn't happen in Arcadia. Never really understood the fanatic adoration people have for DQ. It's just ice cream? I went with friends and shared a bogo couple I received for my birthday. My friend regaled me of tales where on road trip there was rule if you see a DQ you HAVE TO pull over and get some DQ, unless you got some in the last 15 minutes. I enjoyed the mint chip flavor and found the texture to be more silky smooth than regular ice cream. Melts fast and don't underestimate the portions I got a medium and could finish. Jurassic Chomp Blizzard, small - $5.09 - Peanut Butter! Fully loaded with peanut butter flavor. Loaded with chocolate peanut butter bites. They mix the blizzards well so each bite has toppings. Dairy Queen made my entire family feel nauseous and sick, vomiting, chills and everything. This happen in a span of 2 days, went from the youngest to the oldest. We've been trying to track down what foods we ate in the past days and we went out to eat at DTF and then grabbed Dairy Queen for dessert. That was the last time we ate out. Immediately when we got home, my youngest 1 year old started puking profusely, then everyone else started to vomit and diarrhea, chills. Seriously my guilty pleasure. Their moolattes, that is. I haven't had any of their fruit smoothies, chilled drinks, malts/shakes, orange julius or blizzards. But I have YET to try 'em! They all look so yummy in their pictures but I always seem to get my usual mocha or cappuccino moolatte. It's basically a soft serve frozen blended coffee drink. It's as good as it gets man. It tastes super fatty, heavy, thick and sweet but I freakin' love it especially if I'm cravin' it.
