Quick, affordable bites not too far from our bnb. I loved the New Orleans sampler. The gumbo and red beans & rice were my faves. I didn't love the etouffe but I'm glad I got to try them all. The fried chicken was good also. I was too full to eat the fried green tomatoes and hush puppies. The service was friendly. Thank you !!

While in New Orleans we planned on going for beignet, but the rain stopped us from getting there so we looked up a place close to the hotel for a nice brunch. We came across this place as an alternative and were presently suprised on the great brunch, and terrific home style cooking. I went with the Cajun omelet and my wife had the crab cake Benedict. My omelet was filled with cheese, sausage, onions and tomatoes. So flavorful! The Sunday biscuits were fresh and great with a little strawberry jam. I went with the cheese grits as recommended by our server for my side. Yummy! My wife could not finish her Benedict as it was so rich and a lot of food. 2 heaping mounds on biscuits with hashbrown on the side. Old down to earth style with a New Orleans flair! Our server was very helpful in making our choices.

This is a great place! We wanted to go someplace for breakfast and this was just a short walk from the Hyatt Regency, where we were staying. We were not disappointed. I had the Greek omelette and hubby had a fish po-boy and gumbo. They were both delish and it was very affordable. Our server couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. I'm guessing this might be a local hang. The atmosphere was totally New Orleans and we sincerely enjoyed it.

The breading in the country fried steak and the chicken were some of the best I've ever had. The country fried steak was crunchy, well seasoned, and delicious. The chicken breast was soooooo juicy! The waffle was preferred over the pancakes for us. It had a very diner feel so it was a cozy experience with the aroma of black coffee, eggs, and bacon wafting through the air. Our server was very attentive and kind.

Great option for late night food. The inside was freezing but our waiter was attentive . It's in a good location to walk to/from other places as well. *We got the chocolate cake in addition to what is pictured but when it came out it looked really unappetizing so I sent it back.

We were looking for a breakfast spot from our hotel and was recommended this place boy I'm glad we showed up early because it got really crowded. Of course we had to ordered fried chicken and waffles enough to share between two of us. They have a full bar great service.

I was craving Country Fried Steak and Yelp guided us here. Walked in and were sat right away. The staff is very friendly and everyone greeted us. It's casual and the decor is very artsy. Really, you can buy some of the local artists artwork on the walls. We were given drinks and ordered: country fried steak and eggs and my husband ordered the Cajun omelette. Both were very good! They gave me a steak knife, but the meat was so tender I just used my fork. Eggs cooked perfectly over easy. I wanted to try the pancakes but I was so full that I'll save it for next time. I'd definitely come back.

The waitress was great; sooo friendly. We're visiting from California; ordered 4 orders of Full fried chicken dinners. The food was well-seasoned. The place is a home in the wall but it's a quaint ambiance.

A great stop lunch after we went to the Titanic immersive experience. The food was good with lots of flavor the chicken was hot and juicy. I had chicken sandwich which is bun and lettuce with 2 chicken tender just the right size. Good flavor and just enough food for me. My wife got 2 piece chicken meal with fries (she always ask for crispy it is her preference) as the side. She also ordered the Crawfish Bloody Mary spicy. This basically is a mini snack with pickled Okra, olives and a complete crawfish. The Bloody Mary is reason enough to stop in. Great service food came out in about 10 minutes but they say on the menu that fresh food take a little bit and fried chicken could take up to 20 minutes. It is made to order is my guess. The ambiance and decor was cool. The music was a bit loud and more ROCK than New Orleans type music. I recommend Daisy Mae's We had a good meal. For a fair price.

The food was delicious. We ordered the Chicken and waffles, the New Orleans sampler , grits and the shrimp po' boy. The server Helene was friendly, gracious and polite.

Chicken and Waffles were fresh and delicious: very generous portions of chicken too. Pancakes were a hit as well. The iced tea had a funky flavor.

Look no further, friend. Right off the bat, after arriving on a Friday around 4:45 PM we were seated promptly, given water and the tastiest little sweet yeast rolls ever (the tops actually crackled when you squish them you guys), and made our bevvie choices. Tonic with lime for me (I'm behaving rn) and an Old Fashioned for wifey. Killer. We skipped the appetizer course and ended up ordering off the specials menu for both meals. She got braised brisket with deviled egg potato salad (fantastic!) and I got grilled Amberjack with roasted Brussels, topped with pickled peppers, onion, capers, and a drizzle of olive oil and Crema. Did I mention this place has a rustic atmosphere, and cozy feel, AND a Michelin recco without a dress code required?!? We had Lemon Buttermilk Icebox pie for dessert... MY GODS. This pile of words I just typed doesn't do this place justice. Chef Link has got something special going here, and his butcher shop next door is totally groovy too. I can't rave enough about this place, and I wish it wasn't so dang far from Texas, but hey, it's just another in a list of damn fine reasons to come visit the fine folks of NoLa again.

I ordered the shrimp po' boy, which was around $22, and was surprised it didn't come with fries. Usually places either include them or at least mention that they're separate when ordering. We also started with the charbroiled oysters, and whatever topping or seasoning was on them had this weird crunchy, crackling texture that literally felt like it was cracking against my teeth when I bit into it. I don't know if it was burnt cheese or what, but I personally could not eat more than one. The service also wasn't great during our visit. After our food was dropped off, our waiter never checked back in. I had ordered fries separately once I realized they didn't come with the sandwich, but after waiting about 10 minutes with no update, I finally got up and walked to the bar to cancel them because I was almost done eating at that point. Maybe we came at an off time, but overall it just wasn't the experience we were hoping for and probably not somewhere we'd return.

The food overall was outstanding, and it was a great spot to take out-of-town guests. To kick things off, we started with a dozen of their legendary Charbroiled Oysters. To be completely honest, we were a little disappointed with them this time. Normally, Drago's oysters are swimming in that famous, rich garlic-butter sauce, but this batch was not as juicy and lacked that extra sauce we are used to getting. They weren't completely dry, but definitely missing that signature butteriness. On the bright side, the rest of the meal was flawless! My sister-in-law ordered a bottle of Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay for her, her friend, and me to share, which was beautifully chilled and paired perfectly with everything. For entrees, my husband and I both ordered the Boneless Beef Short Rib. It was incredibly tender--true melt-in-your-mouth perfection--served over creamy mashed potatoes with rich gravy and topped with fresh sautéed spinach. My sister-in-law got the Seafood Pasta, which was completely decadent with a rich cream sauce over angel hair and a very generous mound of sweet lump crabmeat right on top. Her friend ordered Mama Ruth's Seafood Gumbo and loved that authentic, deep New Orleans dark roux flavor. Our daughter went with the Filet Mignon, which was cooked perfectly and came with a massive plate of hot, crispy French fries that the whole table ended up happily snacking on. Despite the oysters being a bit of a letdown, the entrees, wine, and atmosphere made for a memorable night with family. We will definitely give them another try!

The ambiance has a classic New Orleans feel--older, spacious, and almost reminiscent of a casino with its large dining room. It may not be the trendiest restaurant in the city, but it delivers exactly what people come for. If you're visiting New Orleans, do yourself a favor and order the charbroiled oysters. They alone are worth the stop... or two.
