The food was good I will say that it was an amazing start to the meal. This tends to happen often. But I thought it was middle of the road overall, nothing WOWed me. The main entree and desserts fell flat. The best thing was the smoked yogurt lemon dip with the bread. The black cod fish was burnt with bones and had bad farro that had spaghetti O flavor, texture and resemblance underneath it. Dessert was too sweet, not the best tres leches but they made an effort & did have some great concepts. Reserve ahead of time for Dalida! I arrived at 5pm for my 5:15pm reservation and there was already a line of people waiting for Dalida to open. The octopus appetizer, breaking bread, and skewers were SO worth it! I would definitely come back and order all 3 of those. The skewers were the best! It was so tender and flavorful. The hummus and sauces that accompanied the breaking bread were 11/10. I would skip on the Turkish mushroom pasta. It was really bitter and had lots of random vegetables mixed inside it. Iconic, I heard, but why? Oh, the Tahdig, the crudo special, the manti.... Wow. This is where even jaded foodies can be pleasantly surprised by just how good every dish is. Even the 'breaking bread'--a tradition here--had the three of us each choosing a different favorite dip. Seasonal, cross-Mediterranean, enlightened seasonings, healthy, just delightful. I had an herbal tea and a bite of two desserts. Rarely have I had so many undisputedly 5 star dishes from start to finish, if ever. Service was equally thoughtful, helpful and added to our enjoyment. Dalida exceeded my expectations. Thankful that my friend, who had been to Dalida before, made a reservation for us for a Saturday brunch. Apparently, it is almost impossible to get a table without a reservation. We had very welcoming and friendly service! Though our waitress offered to give us some recommendations from the brunch menu, I think we did a good job ordering ourselves! The two of us shared the breakfast platter (comes with chubby pita and a a bunch of different spreads), roasted chicken, and Turkish eggs. I'm glad Dalida was very accommodating to my dairy sensitivity. I was able to order my Turkish eggs without the yogurt, and the waiter who brought us our breakfast platter pointed out which of the dips had dairy. All the food we had here was so delicious! There were plenty for the two of us to take home as well! Planning to take my boyfriend here one day for brunch/dinner. Dalida is a special restaurant. The food is spectacular, the service is excellent and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I highly recommend getting the Chef's Menu (requires the participation of everyone at the table) because you get to taste so many different items from menu. Last night, the Chef surprised us with some additional courses (octopus and wagyu steak) that were simply perfection. You do need to plan ahead and make a reservation. Front desk ladies were super rude and unapproachable. I politely asked if I could order take out since we did not have reservations and online yelp said we could call to order. The lady at the front desk said no. We looked like out of town-ers, but really a family just looking to order food to go outside and eat back at our hotel (Inn at the Presidio). Would recommend the Mexican bistro across the way, better service. For the Presidio area trying to be more family friendly and open to tourist, skip this eating place. Was unable to get a reservation due to a booked SF Restaurant week yet was still accepted as a walk-in and sat at the bar. The bar is cozy and welcoming. Other patrons talked about how they would want their homes to be modeled after the area . This is definitely a restaurant you would visit for a celebration or big event. The bar is more casual though. We were seated for lunch with no wait and tried the seafood platter to start. The oysters were fresh and the hamachi was super tasty-- definitely my favorites. This was paired with their Lady of the Sunshine 'Goldie' white blend, very light and refreshing. After we shared their Green Tahini Taboulen salad. Not exactly tradition but still very good. For the main, we ordered the Cypriot Lamb Chops and they were absolutely amazing. The hummus acts almost like a pureed potato with the lamb jus and was so good we almost licked the plate. We paired this with a glass of Thymiopoulos, so good. For dessert, we got the Warm Gata Tart. The tart itself was good but the ice cream was the star of the dish. This was paired with persimmons which I felt were not as sweet as I hoped but worked with the dish. This definitely satisfied my craving for Mediterranean food after my recent trip to Greece. Came here for Valentine's Day dinner after our amazing meal the year before and for some reason we felt that it wasn't as good. We ordered several items and the ones that we knew were delicious stayed the same. The California tahdig and breaking bread were our favorites and a must order when coming here. The crispy lamb ribs were also amazing, we wished there were more of them! The pasta dish and skewers that we got completely missed the mark for us. The skewers were dry and overcooked with little to no flavor at all. I don't remember the name of the pasta dish we ordered but it also had little to no flavor. It just tasted like noodles and cheese and the green sauce didn't do anything for it. I think this restaurant does certain dishes very well and some are just not that worth it. I do recommend checking this out at least one in SF but would stick to items that I know are good. read more

We made reservations for Sunday lunch with my parents, and wow--the ambiance is perfection! We were seated indoors, and the space was quite large. The food was delicious! We ordered: Breaking Bread: A MUST! The fresh, chubby pita is so fluffy and pairs perfectly with all the dips. I have a nut allergy, so they replaced one of my dips with baba ganoush. All the spreads were delicious, but the baba ganoush was our favorite! Octopus and Sujuk: Another MUST! Such a beautiful dish! The octopus was very thinly sliced and came with a delicious fermented sauce. California Tahdig: Our waiter recommended this dish! Crispy saffron rice with uni, smoked trout roe, kampachi, and yuzu. It was yummy but small--a seafood lover's dish! Turkish Eggs: Poached eggs with garlic yogurt and chubby pita. It was good and savory! Arayes Burger: Another must! Came here for our anniversary dinner on Sunday; we originally had a later reservation, but arrived about 45 minutes early and they were able to seat us anyway. (I do think it's funny fancy restaurants always ask you if you're celebrating something, and you tell them, and they're just like "cool!" and nothing comes of it and it's never mentioned again. Why ask? Seems silly; it's not like they put in an effort to actually make the experience more special). The restaurant is beautifully designed and I would highly recommend getting the counter seats next to the kitchen! They do amazing work in there and it was mesmerizing watching the chefs cook our dishes. Really organized and efficient kitchen. We ordered the breaking bread sampler, the tabbouleh, the su borek, lamb chops, tahdig, cauliflower, and fries. Our server Naiyali (hope I'm spelling that right!) was lovely. While waiting, we sipped on a couple of the non-alcoholic cocktails: the sesame horchata and the seasonal gazotz. I thought the drinks were just okay for how expensive they were as zero ABV cocktails. The seasonal gazotz didn't have any of the flavors listed and tasted more like fruit water. The horchata definitely had way too much ice and had none of the creaminess or spiced kick that you'd typically expect. Not sure I'd recommend the non-alcoholic cocktails; I'd save your money for something else. Food came out pretty quickly and we had the breaking bread sampler first. This might've been my favorite dish out of everything else we ordered. The pita was soooooo fluffy, but still had a nice, lightly-bubbly crust. The picked veggies and sauces (smoked yogurt, hummus, muhummara) were individually delicious. Couldn't get enough of them and the pita went way too fast! If there's one thing to get off the menu, it'd be this dish. The tabbouleh was really refreshing and had a decently generous portion of cordyceps, which was awesome. It was only a tad too salty -- which was actually a consistent theme with the rest of the dishes -- but the fresh lettuce pieces provided a nice balance. It was my first time having Su Borek, and I thought it was really good. The layers of dough were so tender and QQ, kind of like lasagna sheets. The cheese cut through the carbiness pretty well. I'd say the star of this dish was definitely the spinach sauce; I really wish they gave more of it because greens helped balance the heaviness of the dish otherwise. My husband said the lamb chops were probably some of the most perfectly-cooked lamb he's had anywhere. They fell right off the bone and he didn't even need the knife provided. His only complaint was that the hummus jus was way too salty. The tahdig was perfectly crispy and I loved the sweet barberries on top; this one was also just a tad too salty. The broiled caulifower in harissa was just too saucy and too salty. Veggies had a nice char, but it was difficult to enjoy because of how salty the sauce was. Shoestring fries had a great crisp as well, and the aioli was wonderfully umami -- but also just a bit too salty. We couldn't leave without dessert, so we ordered the baklava and the chocolate muhallebi. The phyllo dough in the baklava was perfectly flaky; the pistachio cremeux and raspberry sauce were amazing and perfectly complemented each other. It was both a textural and flavorful experience. The muhallebi was also delicious: silky pudding and a phenomenal turkish coffee cream on top that brought out more of the dark chocolate flavors! My waitor said "we have more pita, asked for more". billed me $5 for each additional bread, when I was under the impression it was comped.. One provided bread makes ZERO sense and isn't enough. Not surprised I was ripped off cuz this place participates in billing the costumer scam of 5% because they are too cheap to pay their staffs healthcare. Bread was actually the best part of this meal. That is bad If the bread was the best thing. I don't get why this place is popular beside the cool location and old school late 1800's military building. $36 Aleppo chicken was tasteless. Zero spice or marinated taste. Was a generous portion but tasted like it was thrown together with zero care and lacked other ingredients to complement the meal. a $6 Popeyes chicken sandwich is better than this. I recently visited Dalida in SF. This place was upscale in food, but gives off a very family and casual feel. The Chef Laura was amazing and she even greeted us at our table. Service was top notch and I never had an empty glass. I had the lamb shoulder, trout, breaking bread, octopus amongst many others. You can tell there was a lot of thought when these dishes were created. I experienced a set of flavors that were new to me, and I eat out a lot. Came to this restaurant as a fan of Laura from Top Chef season 21 and the food did not disappoint!! The food is meant to be eaten family style, which I highly recommend to try many dishes. The octopus appetizer was SO GOOD and my favorite dish of the night. The octopus is sliced so thin it basically melts in your mouth. We also got the bread basket which came with the fluffiest, freshest, and softest pita bread ever. We then split the mushroom pasta, lamb shoulder, trout, and the mini lamb dumplings (a dish she made on top chef). Everything was just cooked perfectly, with great flavor. The restaurant itself was very cute and modern. The best part was Laura came out to the table to meet us and she was just the sweetest!! With some of the best hospitality and unique dishes ever experienced, this is one of my top picks now in SF when it comes to the great open atmosphere, unique drinks and great service. We started our evening with Breaking Bread which was some of the creamiest hummus ever as well as puffy pita bread that was so good we had to order a second! We then had the Fattoush Salad which had the juiciest deep red tomatoes you have ever experience. Perfectly peeled and dressed, this was a refreshing dish. As most items are designed to be family style we then loaded the table with the lamb chops, octopus, Anatolian Arishte. And Saffron Tahdig (rice) This was plenty for 4 and the flavors were amazing witg every bite. The lamb chops are wrapped with ground lamb (brilliant) and one chop is plenty but you'll need 2 orders for 4 people (2 chops per order) Prices for a Michelin Star caliber restaurant in San Francisco is very affordable and the value you get is worth every penny. The tamarind based cod entree was super smooth and silky in texture and taste and I found myself unable to stop. It was that good however the baklava with raspberry sauce felt like a culinary joke. Started off with breaking bread, which was a tasty platter with a fluffy pita (wish it came with two, but you can buy more), and I was glad we got it. The Arayes burger was a bit dry, but came with very flavorful fries -- I'd pass on this. The Tepsi kebabi was flavorful and moist within the sauce. The eggs were perfectly done and I liked the crispy potato strings on top. The grilled oysters (6 total) were moist and a good breadcrumb topping, though the porky sauce overpowered it and was a bit on the greasy side. As avid Top Chef fans, we were super excited to try Laura's restaurant, which was also intriguing given the interesting dishes throughout their Eastern Mediterranean menu. It was super interesting to be sat right in front of the kitchen, and almost immediately we were starstruck when we saw Laura cooking and delegating throughout the open kitchen just feet away from us. Given the variety of items on the menu, we decided to do the Chef's Menu, which was a super reasonable $75 per person (especially given the large amount of items they bring you). Starting with drinks, I got the Saturnalia while my partner got the Dalida Coffee Martini. The Saturnalia was a delightful blend of flavors, which a slight sweetness that was balanced by the pistachio and lime. The Dalida Coffee Martini was also very tasty, and served up in a fun presentation to look like a hot cup of coffee, while still being a cold drink. Soon, the food began coming out rapidly and we were pleasantly surprised and shocked at how much food they gave us for just $75. Some of the starters included fried squash blossoms with a light, yogurty sauce, bites of sweet potato with spices, salted melon with cheese and olive oil, and a walnut paste wrapped in pork. These were all delightful and set our expectations high for what else was to come. We next were given a cod dish with an herbed butter sauce, which was very tasty but our least favorite of the meal because of all of the bones. Next, we were given a roasted cauliflower dish, giant platter of skirt steak with sauces, vegetable medley/salad, a freshly cooked pita with hummus, babaganoush, and other sauces/condiments, and a tahdig. The roasted cauliflower dish was cooked beautifully, although the flavor could have had a little more of a kick to it (although it was great when dipped in the numerous sauces spread throughout). The vegetable medley salad was bright and flavorful, a refreshing side to the meal, while the steak was rich and super tender, and the sauces gave it a nice boost and interesting flavor. The pita bread was also super soft and the hummus was phenomenonal. The tahdig was huge and cooked nicely with a crispy crust, although it was a bit milder than we expected but tasted great when paired with the other dishes and sauces. To finish, we were served a slide of cake with a rhubarb (can't remember) sorbet. Although we were already pretty full by this point, we both loved the cake, which my partner scarfed up and the rhubarb sorbet was a nice, light finish to the meal. Overall, even with our high expectations this was an amazing experience that we will always remember. From the beautiful atmosphere to the presentation of the drinks and bounty of the chef's menu, it was a night to remember and would be a great place to go to celebrate an occasion or to just get a great meal. Came here for my girlfriend's birthday, and it was truly memorable. We kicked off with Breaking Bread (4/5), followed by the standout Duroc Pork Cheek Souvlaki (5/5), Black Cod (4/5), and the star of the night: Cypriot Lamb Chops that fell off the bone because it was so tender (5/5), perfectly paired with the Saffron Tahdig (5/5). For dessert, the Rose Tres Leches Cake (5/5) hit the spot, plus a surprise chocolate treat with marshmallow that was a sweet bonus. Incredible. Delicious. Authentic. Thoughtful. SO GOOD!!! The food was fantastic. They did an amazing job of keeping it traditional, and yet elevating specific elements to make the dish pop even more. We loved everything. You HAVE to get the breaking bread! The service was so sweet! Everyone was kind, attentive, and our waters were always kindly refilled. The chefs table is really cool because the bar surrounds the kitchen, and you could see how they work. The whole restaurant is lovely and their bathrooms were kept tidy and clean! I highly recommend this place for a special occasion-- just make sure to make a reservation! read more

What is there not to like about Dalida? The vibe was great, the decor fab, the food incredible. Parking was easy too, which felt like a cherry on top. We asked the server what to get because everything looked so good. The bread service was fun to get and try, but with two people was on the more filling side. I forget the name of the appetizer we got. I think the pork skewers? They were good and gorgeously presented but personally, I think I'd prefer to try something else on the menu. But I'm glad I had it. The lamb though - and I'm not even a huge lamb fan - was phenomenal. It was lamb wrapped in ground lamb, so everything was juicy and delicious, and went so well with the hummus. I was worried that it wasnt enough food, my friend worried it was too much lol. It was the perfect amount haha. We also got a side of the rice and it was probably my favorite thing. It had such a crispy top and fantastic seasonings to the rest of the rice. Plus barberries which were fun. The only thing is I wish they had given us a reminder about the time before we actually had to leave. I was having such a great time with my friend that we lost track of time and before we knew it we had someone coming over and very politely telling us that the next table was already there. I mean I do appreciate how long they let us go for! But I would have liked a heads up before this, personally, because then we felt very rushed to leave since they were already there. They told us we could continue at the bar, but I had no idea where that was so we sorta just gathered up all our things and made our way to the bathroom haha. Def on the pricey side though, and requires a reservation. It was more difficult to get than I expected - we had checked over a week out and there was nothing, even for a weeknight! I think it was like a wednesday or something random, not like a friday night. We happened to check back a day or two before and managed to find one. read more
