To be honest i was disappointed with the matcha... Why is this so hyped? I definitely prefer rok, airoma, vivot
I went to Damo around 2pm on a weekend, and the line was already starting to form out the door. Unfortunately, the line takes up a majority of the cafe space, along with the few sitting tables, so it was pretty difficult to find a spot to wait for my drink after ordering. The pickup area can also get blocked by the line or waiting area, which can make it a little awkward when you're trying to reach over someone to grab your drink. I ordered the Coconut Hojicha and the Matcha Einspanner. The Coconut Hojicha was refreshing, nutty, and definitely the standout of the two. It's such a fun twist on the typical matcha coconut drink, and I have to give Damo their flowers for creating something that feels unique. The Matcha Einspanner wasn't particularly stand-out compared to some of the other cafes in K-Town, but it was still a well-balanced drink with a nice mix of bitterness, sweetness, and creaminess. I can definitely see why so many people consider Damo one of their favorite cafes. Despite the crowded setup, the drinks are creative and thoughtfully done!
Absolutely obsessed with the Hojicha Coconut! This drink is DIVINE, so refreshing, creamy, and delicious. I could literally drink 10 of these! It's definitely a must-try, and I already can't wait to come back for another one. The cakes were just okay for me. I'd probably pass on them next time if I'm just getting something for myself, but they would make a cute gift or present for someone!
Matcha strawberry einspanner really good and creamy You can taste the matcha but it blends beautifully w the strawberry puree and cream top.very crowded when we stopped by. Not enough tables and no one was wiping them down either so it was sticky. Accepted apple pay n cc with no additional surcharge. Drinks came out quick and parking was free.
We ordered the Damo latte - an espresso shot with agave sweetener and the Matcha cream top. The espresso flavor wasn't terribly strong and the matcha tasted alright to me There was a long line of customers and it's a pretty popular Korean drink shop in Koreatown!
Solid matcha place in ktown!! There's so many places around and it's a saturated market so I get the competition... but this place holds its own! Matcha is rich and bold, there's a good amount so it's not weak. Milk ratio is good so it's not diluted at all. The cream top is nice and thick and doesn't melt into the drink! Matcha Cream Top ($7.75)-- I looooove me a nice and thick cream top and this place does it amazingly. It's thick and perfectly sweetened and doesn't melt with the drink/ice. It stays perfectly thick and still and above the matcha unless you mix it in. The matcha is also really nice and rich. None of the bland or grassy taste. Just genuine good matcha! Chocolate Forest ($7.75)-- Basically same as above but the cream on top tastes like Milo/Ovaltine mixed in. It's a nice and sweet nostalgic taste. Not a hint of bitterness so if you want mocha/dark chocolate this is not the one for you. It's more happy kid hot chocolate vibes. Overall I really like this place for their matcha and would get it again. Pricing is steep but all good matcha goes for around $8 nowadays. Theres a shared parking lot (free if you go in the afternoon) but otherwise street parking.
got the strawberry matcha!! the cream top was delicious and so glad it didn't make the entire matcha drink heavy bc i just wanted something sweet and refreshing! the service was nice and quick! got my drink within 5-7 mins after ordering!! the inside was on the smaller side and it got busy/crowded fast so recommend getting your drinks to go!
I stopped by DAMO and ordered a matcha latte. The matcha had a vibrant, earthy flavor that was stronger than most matcha places I've been to. I appreciated the quality of the tea, and the matcha powder and cream on top was not too overly sweet. My friend and I were able to enjoy our drinks inside the shop, as there were plenty of tables available for people to chat with friends or study or work inside.
Visited this spot on a Wednesday at noon and they constantly had a flow of customers coming in and out. There's only a handful of tables and chairs with some stool seating against the front window. Ordered a matcha latte and I kind of regret not adding the cream foam after, but it was already a $7 cup of matcha. Upon mixing and tasting it left a bitter aftertaste so I didn't really enjoy it. I added two packs of raw sugar to try and alter it but I probably should have asked for sweetener or cream top because it still left a bitter aftertaste. Service was lackluster, not warm and friendly, but pretty straightforward. I was able to snag a parking spot in the lot but it wasn't plentiful as the plaza is busy shared with the salt bread shop.

My new favorite spot for decadent matcha and hojicha drinks! The cream top on the hojicha einspanner was so creamy and thick, and it was also the perfect level of sweetness. The strawberry matcha einspanner was also yummy and had a great presentation The space is pretty small but there are a few seats available. The line was around 20 minutes long on a Saturday afternoon. Like most spots in ktown, the parking lot is limited and you'll likely need to find street parking, but it is definitely worth the hype!
This was our last stop of our mini cafe tour when leaving LA and headed back home. We came shortly after opening, so there was plenty of parking and it wasn't crazy crowded yet. Upon entering the place is clean, sleek, and modern. We were greeted right away. I already knew I was leaving with 2 drinks for the drive back home. I ordered: 1. Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.

Matcha focused cafe but they have a very good Hojicha einspanner. Not as sweet as other cafes (it seems like it's Hojicha with water instead of a milk based off the consistency , but I could be wrong) , even with the hojicha cream top. That said, once the cream top is mixed in, it's creamy, sweet, and notes of hojicha become even stronger. Definitely one of the better hojicha lattes I've tried even though it's not as sweet, I recommend if you're looking to get into hojicha. This is a smaller cafe with limited seating that is always busy. The big line is for good reason, their drinks are great and the staff moves quickly to make sure the line is moving. read more

If you are a Matcha lover, this is a must-try place. The Matcha is very fresh and green and not too sweet. This place also gets packed, so I always come in the morning when they open to avoid the crowd and get an easy parking spot. read more
There were so many drinks I wanted to try on this menu and it was difficult to narrow down to only two! This will not be my last visit here because we were thoroughly impressed by the drinks we tried so far! I ordered ahead online since I wasn't sure what the parking situation would be. I arrived a few minutes late after my scheduled pickup time but it was perfect because they had the drinks prepped and didn't add on the cream until I arrived, so I only had to wait a minute until they finished them up for me. The hojicha einspanner was amazing! Hojicha is naturally less sweet and strong on the tea flavor, so the addition of the cream on top is a nice relief from the strong tea. Since the cream is hojicha flavored as well, it adds to the essence of the drink. My husband had the latte einspanner, and he is a coffee critic but really enjoyed this drink! It was smooth and had the right amount of ice. They even have shaved ice here so I will have to return on an afternoon so we can try more drinks plus the shaved ice and yakgwa treats! read more

Pretty solid matcha place, their matcha einspanner was pretty good. The cream top was definitely on the sweeter side, overall the matcha was solid. There is limited seating but has decent amount of space to do work and talk. read more

Damo is my first LA cafe! Firstly, the parking situation can be quite difficult as there is limited spots. But once you get past that everything else is great! As pictured my friends and I ordered many different drinks including strawberry matcha, matcha, and an hojicha latte! We all rated our drink is extremely high and each drink was very well made to our taste. For me, I got my matcha latte with oatmilk, but if I ever to visit again I would just get the default milk that they use for a better matcha taste. Additionally, the cafe was pretty busy but the baristas were still quickly making drinks! The baristas are pretty kind as well ^__^ The cafe was also pretty lively with a mix of people studying and others sitting to chat with their friends! read more

The strawberry matcha is a must try! The strawberry jam is house made and it's a perfect combination of sweetness and tartness. It balances out with the cream top. The flavors all mix together so well. There's also chunks of strawberries in the drink which add a nice touch. The double matcha was okay! I reccomend the strawberry matcha more. read more

This matcha spot is out of this world. I've tried countless spots in various states and this one definitely takes the cake for me. The chocolate Forest Einspener is delectable - my partner described it almost like a milkshake foam on top - it's sweet but not sickeningly so. I love that the staff direct you on how to drink it so that you can get the best experience. That's great service. The plain iced matcha latte was just as great if not slightly better in my opinion. The matcha is high quality and they take great care when making each drink. The interior is beautiful with plenty of seating options if you're not going at peak hours. It's clean and modern. Damo's strawberry milk is so good! Surprisingly, it was not too sweet, which I liked. The strawberry purée chunks complemented the strawberry milk so well. The drink was also super creamy! I'd highly recommend this drink. I came here on a separate occasion and tried their popular matcha latte with a cream top, and I thought that one was delicious too. read more

The drinks are delicious. They are known for their matcha but if u go anytime from 9:30 am and beyond it gets way to crowded the line starts wrapping outside. It is really annoying especially if you are trying to work in there it can get really loud and not a good place for meetings. I usually get there at 8 am when it opens and leave around 9:30/10am I feel like sometimes I am racially profiled from some of the baristas but I haven't seen them since. This coffee shop is really close to me and the shopping center parking is very small. Don't even bother on the weekends because again the line gets SO long of wannabe influencers and people who have driven 3 + hours to just get a picture with their matcha. read more
This coffee shop is bussin'. The line was literally out the door when I visited on Memorial Day (Monday). Thank God they were open though. I took an out-of-town friend to try Damo since it's so highly rated and popular on social media. The einspaner drink is really good. I think they make it differently than Memory Look does, but it's still good. I didn't get the da gwa because I can get that at the Korean grocery store, but the persimmon snack looked interesting. The Damo waffle (mugwort) was interesting - it was not sweet but savory and came with some dipping cream. In terms of doing work or studying here, I would not recommend it based on my experience. There is not much space, so I felt crowded even though I did get to sit down at the table inside. Parking is easy because they have a parking lot! This is rare in K-town. read more

Nice coffee and tea shop but parking is difficult. It's in a strip center with lots of other businesses. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. The cold brew topped with vanilla sweet cream was tasty. Cold brew was smooth and the vanilla sweet cream was thick and silky adding to the overall taste of this otherwise simple drink. The iced matcha with mango was picturesque but needed more milk in it for my taste. And the iced matcha with ginger wasn't as sweet as I would have liked. The mugwort waffle was interesting. It was more savory than I expected. It tasted like seaweed and the texture was like chewy mochi. Happy I tried it but wouldn't order it again. The staff was friendly and helpful, and drinks came out quickly for as busy as they were. The cafe was clean. There were tables and chairs but all were occupied. We took our order to go. read more
I ended up loving the drink that wasn't mine. I'm a huge matcha fan so I got the matcha latte for myself which definitely uses a good quality matcha, I would think ceremonial from the color and taste but I'm not 100% sure. However, I really think this needed the cream so the matcha einspänner would've been the better option. It felt like it was missing a component without it and it was also served with some room to spare at the top so if anything, try it with a cream top next time. The drink I ended up loving was the chestnut einspänner made of chestnut oat milk, chestnut cream, and espresso. If I blindly drank it, I would've though it was hazelnut from the nutty flavor but it was still good. The espresso was balanced out by the sweetness of the cream and the drink itself tasted slightly sweet too. There were quite a few people studying at the tables since there's outlets nearby but it's also a popular place for people to just relax. read more
Such a cute, clean, and minimalistic coffee spot that I have to stop by with my friends. Once I got there, I wasn't sure what to order so they helped me through on the ones I wanted. We ordered a black coffee and 2 hojicha einspener. I didn't realize the Hojicha is not sweet but it is a einspener. I do wanna come back for their dessert sampler and the Strawberry einspener. I LOVE DAMO. i cannot explain it enough, it's the best matcha i've ever had, and i've had a LOT of matcha. the ambiance is really nice and minimal. the service is pretty good for how busy it can get. it's so worth it though. i live an hour away and ALWAYS buy it when i'm in LA read more

I've been wanting to try Damo for a while and finally got a chance to go. The only complaint I have is that it's not by my house and I can't go everyday The matcha was so good, Damo definitely knows what they are doing. If you are a matcha lover, the matcha here won't disappoint - it's heavy on the matcha, unlike some places that are too milky. I tried the waffles too and it's a rice cake-y ssook waffle. I would recommend and get this again. Can't wait to go back! read more

I'm always trying new matcha places and this was on my list! The interior is cute, kind of small but it was still easy to walk around/through. We went on a Friday mid morning around 11 am We ordered the matcha einspener with oat milk and the einspener chocolate forest. The matcha was really good and one of the best that I've had. The chocolate forest was also good but the chocolate foam kind of overpowers the matcha. They make the drinks pretty quickly too. It was a tiny bit pricy but that's everywhere now with matcha. Overall it was very good and I would go here again! read more
There was no wait on a Friday at 12 and I got my drink immediately. The matcha einspanner was a solid choice! I also asked for light ice and I appreciated that they still filled the cup to the top. I have been here twice now and I am convinced I have found the best matcha in all of LA! This place stays packed for a good reason, the line goes by fast. It's a cute place to work on a laptop or catch up with a friend. I haven't tried their food options but I am in completely in love with their strawberry matcha. It's actually made with fresh strawberries! However, I wasn't a fan of their mango matcha, I love mango and I wouldn't recommend. The strawberry matcha alone merits this 4 star review . Definitely yummy and would return, but maybe not my absolute favorite that I've had! Finally got to try DAMO when I visited LA the past weekend - we ordered the matcha einspener and mango cream matcha. I do love matcha, but find I prefer drinks on the sweeter side while the einspener was more on the mild sweetness side. I wished I had tried the hojicha version instead, but still enjoyed the sips with the sweet cream mixed in. The mango cream matcha I was a bit conflicted about, since I love both mango and matcha, but found that no matter how much the drink was mixed together there would be certain sips that were sweet from the mango, and certain sips where there was no sweetness at all. There was at times too much of the mango sweetness to where it overpowered the main matcha flavors as well. I think it just didn't incorporate as well as I had hoped! But overall, enjoyed the cafe environment, service was quick, and I'd return to try different drinks next time read more
Came here around 3PM on a weekday and it was packed. A plus is that this cafe is location in a shopping center, so there's a big parking lot (which is rather rare to find in Ktown). The downside is that there is limited seating, which can be quite full during peak times. After waiting around 30 mins, people slowly started to trickle out and we were able to get a table. I ordered the matcha einspanner and my friend ordered the hojicha einspanner. As someone who loves matcha, I found the drink to be okay. I enjoy sweeter drinks so I preferred the sips where I had a bit more of the sweet cream. It could be just me, but other than the aesthetic, I'm not sure if understand the einspanner hype. I'm glad I have it a try but would likely opt for a regular matcha latte next time. Also side note: At one point they started burning incense, so if you're pretty sensitive to scents like me, this might not be the best spot for you. read more
Been dying to try this place and finally got a chance. It was quite busy when my sister and I came (with the line out the door), however the service was very quick. One thing to note is there is limited seating inside the shoppe and not much in the nearby area either because it's located in a mini mall. We got: strawberry matcha latte & matcha einspenner. Both were 10/10 delicious, high quality matcha, with a milder sweetness. The total came out to ~$15 for both drinks, so pretty typical for matcha in LA. Overall, very happy with the drinks and would come back to try the coffee or a different matcha. read more

Arguably the current most popular cafe in Ktown! DAMO has sat on the tippy top of my list of must-gos for the longest time due to all the hype. Everyone has either heard of it, already stopped by, or named it as their favorite matcha spot in LA. The interior was gorgeously minimal and it's clearly a local favorite with a constant flow of people. With limited seating and a higher noise level, DAMO is more of a lounging cafe rather than a place to be productive. On to the drinks! I got their famed Matcha Einspener (cream top). Although I wasn't particularly wow-ed, it was super solid! Decent matcha flavor, rich cream, and nice oat milk choice. read more

Delicious matcha!! This has been our list for awhile and we finally came here today and it didn't disappoint. I got the matcha with chocolate cream top and we also got a classic matcha latte and an espresso shot. Really smooth and high quality matcha and while it was super busy inside (all tables were booked and a line to order), the service was really fast and we got our drinks quickly. There's a parking lot in front and we were lucky to get a spot right as someone was leaving on a Sunday, people were also double parking just to run in really quickly. Before I discovered the einspänner matcha latte at Damo I used to get the regular iced matcha latte. The einspänner matcha latte is 1000000x SAUR much better! I'm a matcha girly & this place holds such a special place in my heart :') The cream top makes the drink 1000x better -- I love damo because it isn't too sweet but it's also not bitter. This is a small coffee shop in ktown. Parking can be difficult to find but I feel like I always get pretty lucky whenever I come :D I wish damo wasn't so far from me, I would always be here if I lived closer. This matcha is comparable to the community goods matcha einspänner latte. read more
INSANELY GOOD. I came here on a Saturday morning and was delighted to find plenty of parking out front. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but a HUGE line formed almost right after I ordered (trendsetter, I know). I ordered the matcha with mango and it was delightful. The fresh mango is so sweet and perfectly chopped to slurp up a straw. The cream on top was thick and yummy, I didn't even want to mix it in. This place is clearly a hit given the line out the door so I recommend getting there early. It's a must-try in LA! read more
This place has really high quality matcha. It has this nice earthy rich flavor. The cream is really nice, fluffy, and slightly sweet. They are pretty busy over the weekends, but our group surprisingly didn't have a problem getting a table. I will say the cafe itself is pretty small, and it was a bit warm and lacking airflow the day we went. read more

SOLID 9/10 Americano! and their chestnut latte was really good too. I want to try getting it with whole milk next time. Service was good. Very quick and efficient.
