Could be not my lucky day but I didn't have a good experience with this place. Baozi was cold, dry and tasteless I'm not sure if it's fresh or not but it's very cold and the flavor is off even though I ate right away after bought it. Definitely need more seasoning. The dough need a but sugar and salt to enhance the flavor. It could be good price but not quality. Also the service is not so nice. Some of us turned around to give her the evil eye but she kept going. She then managed to get her order BEFORE another customer and myself who ordered the same baozi...because she was on the cashier's nuts the entire time. Rude and no chill. The reviews for this place were very good so I decided to try it out. Sorry for the late review because I did not try the dumplings until today. Firstly the pork and green onion buns are very good. The meat to dough ratio is good though I would have liked a little more meat. The pork mix was quite delicious and not over salted. Each box comes with 12 bite size buns (well 4 bites). The dough was not too thick only at the top as expected. The shrimp/pork/chives dumplings come frozen in a bag of 30. They were pretty good though I did not get to taste the shrimp. The skin was a little thicker than the Cantonese shrimp dumplings but it wasn't too bad. It also was not overly salted. I wonder if I can heat them up like gyozas??? Hmmm??? While visiting the newish store, there were two nice mommy-like ladies making the dumplings by hand. That is what you want to see. I will definitely go back for the buns and will continue to try cooking the dumplings in various ways. read more

Seen this place all the time so I decided to stop by since it was one of the only places that open this early for food. It's roughly $14 for each of these tray. I walked in and seen about 6 ladies making these all by hand right in front so you know it's legit. Waited about 20 minutes but it was well worth the wait and price. The mini baos were my favorite, they were so soft and packed full of pork and mushrooms. You get about 12 for $14. It can be overwhelming when walking in as a lot of the menu is in another language but if you pay attention there's a small English description on the bottom. Love the baos here! Tried the pork and green onion, pork and mushroom, and egg and chive baozi. The pork and green onion was my favorite, the filling is really well done. Pork and mushroom was also good, egg and chive felt a little heavy on the chives. The portions are good for the price, one box of 12 bao is a pretty filling. The chili oil that accompanied the baozi was also really good. For dessert, I ordered a date cake which was delicious. It reminds me of banana bread with a lighter and airier flavor and subtle date taste, it wasn't too sweet! The restaurant is pretty small and seemed to be mostly pickup. Best pork buns in the bay area! So I am from Tianjin, home of the famous gobuli pork buns. I am a total dumpling snob, and this is the one bay area restaurant that I approve of for authentic, freshly made pork buns. Come early in the day to get these warm and fresh (though they freshen up well with a quick minute in the microwave). Danacious Dumpling is fairly well known for making a different version of bao than what you're probably used to. They're like a mix between a regular bao and a soup dumpling. The outside is soft and fluffy while the inside is porky and juicy. This is actually my favorite style because it combines the best of both worlds. There's really nothing else like it in the Bay Area. We know this because we've been actively searching for something like this forever before discovering Danacious. The service is meh and the ambience is negligible. I don't think the staff speaks English. Exactly what I expect from a top tier Chinese quick serve restaurant. This place used to be run out of a back parking lot elsewhere in Cupertino. They finally have opened their own store now at the former Raman Halu (RIP) space. Their specialty is a traditional northern Chinese dumplings called Baozi, the smaller version: aka 山東小籠包. The name is Shandong style (or Norther Chinese style) Xiao Long Bao - no, not the Shanghai style soup dumpling but the original Shandong style small baozi. Think of it as a smaller version of the more common 肉包子 meat buns found elsewhere. The skin is fluffier, dry and thicker as opposed to thin and wet like the Shanghainese XLB. The Shanghainese version is often called XLTB - Xiao Long Tang Bao or 小籠湯包 to distinguish it from the northern non-soupy filling version. Back to the restaurant, they make one of the better 小籠肉包子 that I've had in the USA. May they have a long and prosperous business. read more

First time here, I arrived at around 1030am Friday, I asked the cashier if they have any onion pork and mushroom pork baozi which is still hot/warm that I can eat right away, she gave me two boxes of warm baozi, I also bought a box of sticky rice siu mai but it's not that warm anymore so she heat it up with microwave for me. The baozi was as warm as body temperature, I could comfortably eat them. Fresh! I like the onion and pork baozi more because it has more flavor and the filling is way better than the mushroom pork baozi. The sticky rice is good, doesn't taste like artificial flavors, they definitely make them by themselves. The mushroom pork is lack of flavor and the filling easily fell apart. These baozi reminds me the ones that I used to eat when I was in middle school in China.
