The food is always fresh and amazing here. I typically don't love fusion food but this place hits. I've been here a a few times now and it really feels like fancy food for a good price. They price the tip into the food and yet the price is still reasonable. More restaurants should be less of a coward and start doing this more. Tipping culture in US is wild. I digress. I like coming here with friends because then I get to try a few dishes. Pumpkin was delicious. Kale salad was creamy and had fresh tomatoes with avacado. The seared black cod was fresh. Salmon was tasy. Gnocci was my wife favorite. The only dish that was a little disappointing for me was the beef bourguignon. Maybe because we had some great flavors in Paris recently and I clearly remember that wine flavor. All of this is moot since the food may change once you get here. Would I come here again? Yes. This has quickly moved to my Top 40 ATL list. I love the small and seasonal menu. read more

Here it is February .. and time to taste a new offering from Danbi. I was really craving that Weekly Special Duroc heritage pork chop ! People, people, people... if I can impress upon you one thing today please let it be this. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOUR PORK COMES FROM ! and who processes it ! You want the best pork purveyor your money can afford. Here's what is said about Duroc heritage pork: "Heritage Duroc pork chops are a premium, highly marbled meat known for exceptional juiciness, tenderness, and a rich, dark red color, often described as having a deeper, more savory flavor than conventional pork. Sourced from a 175-year-old American heritage breed, these chops are typically raised on family farms with strict, humane, and antibiotic-free standards." THIS is the kind of pork you want to eat. (avoid Smithfield at ALL COSTS - they were bought out by CHINA years ago !) Now back to our regularly scheduled review: The chop was AMAZING ! It was HUGE ! and BONE-IN ! Unfortunately, I can't have the cauliflower mash that it comes with. Nor the sage butter. BUT - Our Favorite Chef, Jack, is THE MAN ! There is a REASON they ask you your allergies (and sensitivities) when placing an order. He's really good about pleasing my palate AND keeping my sensitive intestines happy. I pretty much scarfed down the bed of black lentils the chop was perched on. This is the same black lentils that comes with the black cod (see my previous review). Addictingly delicious ! I ordered this salad online and they texted me as soon as it was ready. It made the whole process quick and seamless. The restaurant was clean. I am not a kale girlie, but this kale salad just entered my top three salads. The kale is perfectly massaged and tender, not bitter or dry. The cherry tomatoes tasted like they were marinated, so good. It also had onions,avocado, hemp seeds, and quinoa. This is one of those salads that makes you forget you're eating "healthy." The food was seriously fresh, tasty, and unique. I really love the fusion concept. I am not a vegetable fan, but the veggies were really fresh and pretty flavorful. Our group of four shared 5 dishes, and it was enough to fill each of us. The scallop barley risotto was really delicious! I think this was the fan favorite. The scallops were juicy and sizable. You'll get 6 of 'em. The risotto itself was flavorful and creamy. It was such glorified rice, but it was crazily delicious! The tuna takati poke was pretty wowing to me with the tuna and avocado pairing. The pickled cucumbers and side of salad was yummy imo. The whole group thought so too. It was just a simple dish that we gushed about with each bite. The wagyu bulgogi was so so. Maybe the group saw wagyu and thought it would be amazing. I'm not partial to bulgogi so this wasn't my major pick. The egg made things creamy and more interesting. The greens (apparently the kale kimchi) was really unique. The chicken schnitzel also was so so. The chicken itself was nicely schnitzel-ed. The pickled carrots and radish (called slaw) was an unexpected pairing but worked nicely with the breaded chicken. This pick was good, but the two picks above out shined this one. The swarma chicken was good, but it's sort of on the more basic spectrum and less crazy food profile. The tzatziki sauce and quinoa were good accompanying chicken thigh pieces. This would be a safe pick for particular eaters. Their menu is seasonal so don't expect the exact same thing. And apparently they also have a breakfast all day to try out. Until next time! read more

A great hole in the wall spot in Chamblee! We came for a quick dinner and the people there are so nice and the food is super delicious and healthy. Seating is a bit limited so most of the other people we saw going in got orders to go. You can either order on a standing tablet at the front of the restaurant or at the counter. Since it was just one person (the owner) cooking, the groups food came out one at a time. We had complimentary kale salad to start with which was amazing and I'd definitely get it when I'm feeling a salad. I had the cauliflower mash with steak and it was soooo good. The flavors are amazing and I couldn't even tell it was a cauliflower mash. Some pieces of steak were a little chewy, but overall the perfect medium. I can't wait to come back and I think Danbi is the perfect spot to stop by when you're in the area :) read more

Today's Hokkaido scallops with zucchini purée and fennel salad (a weekly special that ends today) are the essence of spring, bright and refreshing and the scallops are cooked perfectly. I also got a side of beautifully cooked black cod for additional protein, moist but with a crisp skin. The quality and creativity of Danbi Seasonal Kitchen's dishes are comparable to the better fine dining restaurants in town and the prices are more than fair for the quality and quantity. Great food, good service. Tried this place with friends on a weekday. Glad they're maintaining. The space is small and operated by the chef and another staff. Only a couple tables and some counter tops. The menu rotates at least weekly with dishes featuring fresh vegetables in a variety of creative ways. We were able to split five entrees so had a good selection. They moved a couple of tables together so our 4-top could sit as a group. Dishes were handed to us straight as they finished cooking. I especially liked the risotto, a kale kimchi, and a daikon slaw. Can't guarantee that you'll be able to try the same items we had but I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever is on the menu. read more

This place is seriously underrated. There should be a line literally wrapped out of the door. I've been here quite a few times for lunch and it never disappoints. First, the kale salad is absolutely to die for, it's a must have every time I come. Currently on the seasonal menu, the scallops are divine. The salmon is amazing me and my partner absolutely love to come here for lunchtime! The chef is amazing and has worked in Michelin star restaurants. Highly recommend perfect for a nice lunch or even for dinner as they are open until 8 PM. Really can't say enough about this place. read more

I've loved all the dishes I've tried at Danbi. My most recent obsession is the BLT. Such a simple sandwich, but the chef takes it to the next level - delicious and fresh. Pair it with the tomato soup and it's the perfect lunch for a cool day. Definitely recommend! read more

Okay, the chef is a legit CIA grad and worked in Michelin starred restaurants, so he knows what he is doing. The food is so incredibly good. Danbi is a Korean word meaning: "Sweet rain, awaited rain after a long drought" (from their website), and it's so true about this place. The combination of carbs, protein, and veggies was so satisfying, incredibly high quality, and actually nutritious! In all the reviews I've written, I don't think I've ever been confident to say that. LOL. It's an awesome mix of hearty, delicious, and healthy. And the prices are super reasonable. The space is really pretty and there is a parking lot. Try it out! read more

Comes with slow cooked black lentils, Garlic-roasted Brussels sprouts, Mint, Dill, Chili flakes, Fresh lemon wedge. It's everything your body likes for you to feed it. You'll love the taste and feel great about it! The service is friendly, top-notch. These are the kinds of people you want to get to know when you visit over and over. They'll explain the ingredients, answer your questions, and make recommendations according to your tastes. This is a small venue. We stopped in for the first time today and we loved the healthy food being served up here on real plates (not plastic and unsustainable serving ware). I ordered the kale salad which was made with a perfect avocado and pickled cherry tomatoes among other additions. Delish. My partner had the chicken shawarma and also gave it a two thumbs up. And....no tipping allowed. Not in a location with foot traffic so wanted to give a review to encourage more business. It has strip mall ambience but otherwise spotlessly clean with a perfect health score and lovely counter service. GO There! Lemonade was too sweet for our taste so mentioned it and we were told it is made with maple syrup (!) and we can adjust next time to preference. Real lemonade with real lemons!!! read more
