The actual store is small with a lot of different items available. Both the person working at the checkout area and the person working in the meat department greeted us and asked us if they could help us find anything. We let them know we were just looking but would let them know if there was anything we needed. For a very small store, there was a decent variety of packaged goods, fresh food, baked goods, and prepared food available. Prices were on the more moderate to high side. What I was most surprised to find was one of my very favorite chocolate bars from Switzerland. I have a childhood friend that brings them to me when she is visiting the States, and I had no idea that a local kosher market would have them available. The market is located in a shopping center with ample parking available. I will consider stopping by again in the future.

This was the store you went to with your mom as a kid and got rewarded with a hamburger combo. The same combo my friends and I would walk from middle school to get every single week. The original owners were warm kind and genuinely cared. That care is completely gone. The current owners could not care less. Nothing has been fixed updated or renovated. The burger is the main reason I still come here and even that has gone downhill. Old salad mix with brown leaves as lettuce. No salt or pepper on the burger. That is basic. The ONLY reason I come back is because of that infamous 1000 island sauce and the half sour pickle.. HOW CRAZY IS THAT? What makes this worse is that this is the last place in LA serving kosher deli sandwiches and it is being treated like it does not matter. There is no promotion no effort and no willingness to listen even when customers give direct feedback on how to improve. It all gets ignored. Let this be a lesson to any business owner. If you do not listen to your customers if you stay cheap outdated and unwilling to improve it will eventually be the end of your business. This place is not just losing customers it is losing what made it meaningful. It is slowly killing the nostalgia and the inner kid in me that loved coming here. Even Noel behind the deli counter asked me where I had been and said he had not seen me in years. That is the point. It is the responsibility of an establishment to remind customers why they should keep coming back. Big brands still do it. This place stopped trying. I hope someone reads this and takes it seriously. I decided to hop on the grill, grab some drinks and make it a fun little day for everyone. I checked to see if my normal butcher spot was open but to my surprise it was permanently shut down. So I decided to look for a place nearby and came across Danny's Fresh Meat produce right around the corner from me. So I hop in the car and head over! It's in the same parking lot as Salsa and Beer so finding a park is always tough especially on a weekend. That parking lot is a nightmare but once you get a park it's all good. I walked in and it's a very small shop with a cashier in the front, two small isles of produce and meat in the back. It seems like it's all locals because everyone was talking to, who I assume was Danny, in the back working with the guys cutting up the meat. When it came to my turn, I told him I'd never been here so he explained what they do, how they cut the meat, the type of meats they have and that he's been there for 30 years! He is an extremely nice and helpful Armenian guy who has completely won me over. There are a few local places I love supporting in my community and he'll definitely be one of them. The place was very clean and organized. There wasn't a lot of produce but just enough to get your essentials. As for the meat, I picked up a pound and a half of beef loin tenderloin steak at $25.99 a pound and two pounds of marinated chicken breast cut in half's. He told me the steak would melt in my mouth and he told no lies!! The steak was so tender and everyone was asking where I got it from. He made sure to let me know he can slice it up any which way I needed it to be. Overall, Danny's is the perfect spot to grab some local produce and meat if you want to support your local businesses. That same evening, my 14-year-old son and I both got sick -- diarrhea and stomach cramps within hours of eating it. When I examined the packaging I understood why: the store had placed their own label showing a February 2026 packing date directly over the manufacturer's original sticker, which clearly showed a December 2025 production date. That is a 3-month-old deli meat product sold as fresh. When I returned to the store and raised this with the manager, he was immediately defensive, dismissive of the date discrepancy, and showed zero concern that two people had become ill after eating his product. I have filed formal complaints with the USDA Meat & Poultry division and LA County Environmental Health. I have photographic evidence of both date labels. Shop here at your own risk -- and check carefully what is underneath those price stickers.
