This is a great little place to grab a quick meal any time of day. This is exactly what Gilroy needed as it is only one of a few decent dining options in Gilroy. It is owned by the same family who owns Betsy's in Morgan Hill Bowl; so, the food and concept are very similar: casual diner style food. Some items are better executed than others but everything we have ordered has been decent. They will make you pretty much anything you want and are very accommodating! Chile Verde burrito is unbeatable! We go back a few times a week just for their Chile Verde. Other items like the taco salad and huevos rancheros lack flavor and can be a little watery. Gilroy should consider itself blessed that there is a restaurant like Dany's within the city limits. Dany has a family owned business and he takes pride is having people leave full and happy. The menu is mix of Americana and Latin options. There's some Italian options and breakfast is always available. Dany and his wife are always welcoming and they do a great job offering specials that are...what's the word I'm looking for....special! I love their chicken fried steak and chicken Jerusalem. The seafood is delicious and the soups and salads are a pleasure to eat. If you haven't given Dany's a try, do yourself a favor, and see what service and quality look like. Too many Gilroy residents have forgotten the basic facets of a worthwhile eatery. My only complaint is that kept me from a five star review is one of the waitresses. I don't know if she's handicapped or struggles with English, but she is the epitome of a stick in the spokes. She writes down orders incorrectly and has this general Zootopia sloth D.M.V. scene vibe to ...her...that....can...make...a....good....meal....not....as.......enjoy.....able.............as.....it......could.....be. She's gotta go. Whenever she's my waitress I just sigh because I know part of my order or experience is going to suffer. I ate here over a year ago and haven't been back and will never return. I ordered the corned beef hash. The corned beef was dry and chewy. The hash browns were greasy and the serving was small. The eggs, sunny side up were small like a quail egg. In Gilroy I will always go back to ODs and in Morgan Hill my choice is Yolked. My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant a little over a year and can't complain. We almost feel like family in the sense that the owner and his staff always welcome us and provide the best service. No matter the time of day this place serves delicious, reasonable and big portioned plates. I've brought in family and friends to dine here and have yet to hear a complaint. This restaurant is pretty good. We had s party of eleven and I needed a place to bring the moms and family for breakfast on Mother's Day. They are very nice, however, the service was a bit Slow. I'm not eating beef or pork anymore and I would have tried their Mexican style breakfasts. They looked and sounded really good. I had medium poached eggs with avocado slices and sourdough toast. The eggs were cooked just right and the avocado was fresh and good. I was trying to be mostly good lol. I tried my daughters country potatoes and they were really good. The linguisa was really good according to someone in our group. The food could have been hotter, but then again, there were eleven of us. One thing I would really love to tell the owners of Dany's is to please rethink their coffee. It is just poor quality. At first I thought; (well our whole table thought) that the coffee was just under-brewed or the water wasn't hot enough. They were kind enough to re-do the coffee with a brand new pot and it was a bit better, still not good. The coffee has to be decent at breakfast. It's a shame because the rest of the food is good.
