Greek Bowl
Alexis B.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, I placed an Online DD Order that included 2 Greek Bowls with Chicken, a side of Fries, and a side of Fire Feta Dip. When I received my DD, I noticed the driver forgot one of the Greek Bowls so I asked if he can go back and he said no. I then called in to see if I can come pick it up myself, to which the Cashier, Eric, said no I need to take it up with DD and abruptly hung up. I decided to "take the L" and forget about it. I then opened my plate to the worst plate I have ever received by Daphne's. The plate did not include Veggies, as the Greek Bowls states, the bowl also came with a glob of regular Fire Feta Dip, not rhe sauce. The chicken was charred, as if it was overcooked and old, the rice was so hard and tasted of char, and again, they forgot a whole other plate. When I opened and saw how the plate looked, I called back and asked if I could my money back because the bowl given was not what I ordered, Eric and/or Anthony, then proceeded to say they could not refund me because I already received the plate. I let Eric know there were no Veggies and the Fire Feta was a Dip and not the Sauce, he then said they were out of Veggies and FF Sauce. I let him know I've worked at plety of restaurants/fast food places with DD to know, there is the customer's # on the order and they should have called. I also want to make note that I specifically called to place the order for the Side of FF Sauce, which would've also given him the opportunity to let me know about the No Veggies or FF Sauce and I would've cancelled the order then and there, but he unfortunately, did not take that opportunity. All in all, this was the worst plate I have received and the worst service I have received in all the years I've been a customer to Daphne's. I have watched this building get taken over by different owner and different owner time and time again, but this time makes me never want to attend this location again. Just want to note, Anthony and Eric need a lot of customer service training. Again, this is coming from someone that has been a server for years and I have managed many other restaurants/fast food places, so I know how customers can be. This means I also know how rude the employees can also be to guests and just blatantly show they do not care about the guests at all.

Do not take without asking.

First time here. The front cashier was welcoming and helpful, answered all my questions. That's the extent of my positive experience in the lobby. I waited for my food and heard one of the employees casually cursing every other word he spoke, calling everyone bro, all while the few guests in the lobby were watching them. I got my food, but no napkins, silverware, etc. No problem. I got up to get my own from a customer facing tray full of napkins, disposables forks, knives, etc. I smile at the guy behind the grill and grab a fork. He says I need to ask for any of those things, "bro." I couldn't tell if he was joking at first, but he affirmed any forward facing napkins and utensils, I need to ask to be given to me because there's other customers. No sign saying we couldn't self serve. I didn't expect that given it's customer facing. Between the lunch full of F words and being unkindly told I couldn't have a napkin and fork without asking, I probably won't come back. Professionalism is pretty low here. The food was good though.

Funny story on how I came to visit Daphne's... well, I was at R&B Tea getting my Vietnamese sandwiches & boba drinks and I wanted to check-in via Yelp. Somehow I clicked on Daphne's instead of R&B Tea. So I took a second glance and said what kind of foods does Daphne's sells. Surprise surprise... they sell Mediterranean foods. I love Mediterranean foods! So I headed over here to check them out since I already checked in LOL... Daphne's have very good space for dining. Quite a colorful joint. Lots of food options to choose from. I ended up getting the mix & match plate with 1 chicken kebab and 1 steak kebab... it also comes with roasted veggies, Spanish rice, some kind of yogurt called tzatzit, and pita bread. I was hoping to really like my plate. Unfortunately, the chicken was a tad dry IMHO... I don't eat steak so I can't comment on it. Rice was on the harder side... needs more water. Veggies were good. Yogurt was light. Chunks of the meats and all the sides were on the smaller side... wished they were bigger in portions especially with the price paid at $23+. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Ambience was bright especially with the red and blue chairs. Will I be back? I really don't know. They are better than Zaky's Mediterranean so maybe I'll give them another try. At least now I know they exist and I can drop by when I'm in the area. Happy Daphne'ing!

Delicious food great atmosphere highly recommended! I got the spicy chicken pita, rice, and baclava. So tasty!

Where's the rest of the food?

SKIP THIS PLACE!!! This ain't it chief! Food was half empty. Overseasoned and over priced steak. They didn't even fill the plate with rice they banked on stuffing it with vegetables to make the plate look full. The pita bread was as dry as the desert. We paying 25$ for what air? Pathetic bland food and the place can't even cook rice it was undercooked and dry. How do you not know how to cook rice?

Looks like it was thrown together in a hurry. Smh

They will never get another dime from me. Came in around 5PM today and witnessed the young kid working behind the counter (wearing a black tee shirt and gold chains around his neck) laugh and make fun of a lady for telling him to have a good night. Yes, the sun was still out when she said it, but why disrespect a paying customer? She was just being polite. I ordered the classic pita with gyros. They gave me a classic pita with falafel. When I asked for the correct sandwich, the cook was visibly annoyed and had an attitude. How dare I ask for the thing I ordered. Maybe if he wasn't so busy trying to have a conversation with me, he would have actually listened and got it right the first time? Also, the first sandwich they gave me looked disgusting. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Never again!!

I was in the area and decided to try this place. I almost didn't walk in because the restaurant appeared to be closed. I'm glad that I did approach the place. The cashier was very nice and helped me pick a dish. The place appeared to be clean but empty. The dish that picked didn't have a variety of items on it but the portion was a good size...and I'm not a big eater. It was delicious with some spicy yummy sauce. I've attached a pic and I'll be back if I'm ever in the area.

I have ordered from here through UberEats twice. The food is always amazing, but I have one serious bone to pick. They require you to make the order a combo when you order a pita through uber eats. The cost is $7, which is outrageous for fries and drink. Both times I have failed to receive my drink. When you charge customers that much for extras, they had best recieve those extras. On top of I didn't even want the soda and fries, you have to pick it to finish your order.

Poor quality, under seasoned, cold vegetables. Everything was very dry and and pretty disappointing for a $20 plate of food.

Pro tip: if you can get there early enough, you'll get the best pieces fresh off the spit, and that's when the shawarma really shines. Also, definitely add the batata harra to your rotation. Not a lot of Arab/Lebanese spots do it well or even offer it, so I'm glad this place does. It's easily one of the underrated items on the menu. Tony and his son are always there taking care of people, and at this point they honestly feel like family. That kind of hospitality is a big reason we keep coming back. If you're looking for the definitive Lebanese experience in the IE, this is the order to beat. The Breakdown: * The Trio Grill: You get a sampling of everything--chicken, beef, and kefta kebabs. The chicken kebab was the standout for me; it was incredibly tender and had that perfect open-flame char that you just can't replicate at home. * Baba Ghanoush: This was a smoky revelation. You can taste the fire-roasted eggplant in every bite, and the texture was perfectly whipped and creamy without losing its soul. It's easily some of the best in the area. * Tabouleh: So many places use too much bulgur, but Mezzaterranean does it right. It was a bright, herbaceous explosion of fresh parsley and lemon that cut through the richness of the grilled meats perfectly. * The Extras: It all comes together with their fluffy rice and warm pita. Pro tip: use the pita to make little "mini-tacos" with a piece of chicken, a dollop of baba ghannouj, and a pinch of tabouleh. The Verdict: The portions on the Trio Plate are massive (definitely enough to share, though you might not want to). Everything tasted fresh, vibrant, and authentic. It's clear this family-run spot puts a lot of heart into their recipes. 10/10, will be back for more of that garlic sauce!

Since then I tried their express locations including the one in orange and now in Chino hills. I usually get their plates with shrimp or salmon and a choice of 2 sides. The salmon plate was $25 with tax. It also came with pita bread, rice, and garlic sauce. For my sides I got grape leaves and mediterranean salad. Fountain soda was only $2 and I decided to try their baklava. Meal came out to about $32. I think their rice and garlic sauce tasted consistent to their other locations. Salmon was okay, Mediterranean salad was decent, but their grape leaves weren't great. I ate 1 out of 3 pieces. Should have gotten their hummus. I also didn't get any olives and pickled veggies with my order and I usually enjoy those. I also got a small piece of baklava which was a very small portion compared to what they had on their display. It was quite oily so I didn't finish it. Given that there were only 2 customers in person at the time including myself, my order still took 25 minutes. I would also advise them to clean their soda fountain. Liquid that collects at the bottom of the tray seems to be very dirty. Anywho, I would give the food 3 stars. It's so-so.

I placed an order online for pickup and was given a pickup time. The place is very open, spacious and just has a neat vibe to it. I walked right up to the counter to give them my name for pick up and they said they were finishing it up. There were other people waiting for their orders as well. A couple minutes later, the gentleman behind the counter called out "Daniel" and the guy waiting next to me jumped right in and grabbed the bag and took off. I had wondered "I hope they didn't pronounce my name wrong and that was MY order." But didn't think much of it. Then the gentleman behind the counter asked me the name for my order. When I said "Danielle" he said "oh that was yours, the guy just left." He kind of looked at me like it was my problem to fix, so I took off after the guy and the employee followed me. Thankfully, the guy didn't get very far because he was verifying the order, so we made the exchange. Whew! I ordered the charbroiled chicken shish kabob with extra grilled veggies and a side Mediterranean salad as well as the hummus trio with sliced cucumbers instead of pita bread. The chicken kabob meal was delicious! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the option to add on more veggies was much appreciated! I was really excited about the hummus trio, but sadly I found it to be lacking flavor. With the 3 options of regular hummus, spicy red bell pepper and edamame, I was definitely expecting a flavor explosion, but it fell flat for me. I'd definitely come back to try more of their main dishes. Seems like a great little spot to dine in.

It started going downhill when they got rid of the PKG Rewards. We stopped going soon after that. For some reason, we decided to give a chance one more time a couple of days ago. Big mistake. We ordered to-go, and got the "Family Kabob Combo", 2 skewers. Since we're not big fans of their chicken, we subbed one of the chicken skewers for two Koobideh (with an upcharge of $6) and one Salmon skewer (with another upcharge of $5). The total was $45.97 + Tax ($3.56), grand total of $49.53. This would have been OK, if they gave you a reasonable amount of food for what you pay. Instead, we got a large container of rice, and two small containers of meat and vegetables. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, what you get meat-wise is basically extremely skimpy. The two Koobideh skewers weighed a total of 10 OZ. That's TWO of them together (see photo), not one, they weighed only 5 OZ each - barely more than a quarter pound hamburger. The Salmon "skewer" had a total of 5 pieces of salmon, each weighing only 0.8 OZ each, a total of 4 OZ! So what we got for the princely sum of $50 was 14 OZ of meat total - less than a pound, and a whole lot of rice, which costs them next to nothing. If you look at a lot of the older photos of the Koobideh skewers here on Yelp, you can see how much they have shrunk in just a few short years. My guesstimate is they're 50% smaller than they used to be, I know for sure since I bought them in the past that they used to be much larger. The price has increased 35% since we last ate here a couple of years ago, and you get 50% less food for that money, losing on both ends of the transaction. We feel cheated, to say the least. It's too bad, since we do like the taste of the food itself, it hasn't changed - what has changed is the value for what you pay. It isn't worth what they're charging for such a little bit of food (many other restaurants have gone the same way, sad to say). We won't be eating there ever again after this experience, it's impossible to enjoy a meal when you know you're being ripped off.
