Cool aviary themed spot with a rooftop. Nice place to get a drink downtown. The main floor has a dimlit loungey vibe, while upstairs is a rooftop patio. I like the rooftop best since there are very few places in Sacramento that have them. It's a different feel but good for both lunch and nightlife. The last time I went was for lunch. It was a nice time enjoying the beautiful sunny weather, good food and drink. I really love their curly fries! The sliders were tasty too, and if you prefer drinks on the sweeter side, you'll like Canary Treasure. I've had good experiences at Darling Aviary the times I've been. The main con is that sometimes it could be a bit of a wait to get up to the rooftop as it's not very big to accommodate a ton of people. read more

Nice, little rooftop bar where you can enjoy views of downtown Sacramento. We came on a weekday evening and there was a good amount of guests that were there. They had a DJ that day so we were treated to good music and entertainment. Tried several items including their lemon pepper wet wings, nest fries, Toriya! Sando and Blue Jay burger. They were not skimping at all on the curly fries. A very generous amount. There wasn't a single item that we didn't enjoy but it did take some time to get our orders. Their brunch menu looks very intriguing so I'll definitely give them a visit to try out that. read more

Such a cute vibe for their first floor bar area. Then you take a little elevator to their 2nd floor rooftop area for another bar area and dining. They had a DJ playing which was nice. Also, what I appreciated was when it started getting hot the misters came on so that helps on a warm day. Food was okay. I order from their brunch menu the karaage chicken and pandan pancakes. Chicken was yummy and the pancakes was good but it kept getting stuck to the roof of my mouth. It seemed too moist. Not you typical pancake batter. Service was good, our waitress was friendly and kept checking on us and refilling our water. read more

Great little rooftop bar not far from DOCO and Kings Arena. While most of the attention on rooftop bars will focus on the Revival, I really love the much more chill and relaxed vibe of this location. It's much smaller and it's located just off the DOCO complex but still has a great view and an awesome spot to be when they light the beam! What I really enjoyed about this place is the service offered. This past Saturday night within a minute of finding a table, a server was there and got us a few cups of water. She returned quickly and took our drink orders super fast. While I didn't get any food this time, I recall their happy hour also being a great selection of items. I don't think I have ever seen the downstairs bar used here. It's always just a walkthrough to get to the rooftop. Regardless bathrooms on the upper and lower level and a quick elevator ride to the roof. Great little bar to take a date or a couple of friends! read more

Tonight this place gave me SUCH a bad taste in my mouth... It was my friends first time ever going to the darling aviary so we were all excited for them. We walked in at 11:30 and we were told to see the guys when we walked in by the elevator to get checked in to get us upstairs. We were told it would take us 40 minutes so we waited. Mind you... We had a 10$ cover charge for each of us to get in. After 30 minutes I went up to the guys at the elevator and asked them how much longer we would have to wait and they told me their their roof top bar closes at midnight... I immediately went to the guy up front who charged us and asked him where was it that stated that their roof top bar closed at midnight he rudely stated "it's right there how do you not see it" All it says is that "roof top is not guaranteed" NO WHERE does it state that their roof top closes at midnight I have been here on a Friday at midnight!! So don't lie to me. I can't believe I waisted time & $ at this place. I will never recommend it to friends and I'll never take family here that is visiting in town again. What a SCAM. read more

First timer at the drag brunch show and it was fabulous! Everyone was super friendly and great service. I asked our server about vegan options and Cesar went and asked the chef. Visited Darling Aviary on a Saturday afternoon with my BFF looking for good music and drink and we were not disappointed. From beginning to end we had an excellent experience. Upon arriving we were carded at the door and told that the rooftop was the only bar open at the time but that seating was limited. Seating was definitely limited but we were able to grab two chairs by the DJ booth. We were immediately impressed with the mix of music and decided to start with a cocktail. We went to the bar where they had QR codes with the menu. I do wish that there had been a code on the table so that we could ponder options before getting to the bar. The bartender was so nice and friendly. The bar was extremely clean and I appreciated the mist coming from the upper areas because it was a hot day. Our drinks were amazing. We ended up going for seconds + ordering food. The food menu is limited however, what they do have is pretty good quality. Upon leaving one of the owners introduced himself to us which was a nice touch. Love that they have security for extra safety and appreciate the overall ambiance of the place. I was intrigued by their rooftop bar but when I decided to stop by on Friday night, the rooftop was closed! Huge bummer...but we figured we'd grab a drink anyways. The space is really small. It's about the size of dive bar on K street. The space is narrow and they have pretty limited seating. So not much space for patrons, especially with the rooftop closed. Lucky for my friends and I, we were early enough to snag a table and a few drinks. Their cocktails were tasty but the warm tequila shot was not. Lol It's really hard to tell the vibe of the bar. The DJ downstairs was playing jungle themed music and it just wasn't fun to listen to. Lol, when we left...we heard the rooftop bar playing hip-hop and we knew we would've enjoyed it all on the rooftop. I'll try the rooftop again, but if it's closed...I would pass honestly. read more
