First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken. I got the Lite Mild slider although I think I'll go spicier next time. The sandwich was perfectly made - the chicken was well cooked, it was seasoned well, and the pickles with the kale salad was a nice balance. I appreciate that they added extra pickles on the side with extra sauce too. I also got the vanilla shake with Oreo toppings. It's just an average shake however it was a bit difficult to drink being that the Oreo chunks were a bit too large to fit the straw. Customer service was great. This was great! Came in after work so we were running right tight. I walked in about 45 minutes before closed and everyone was so welcoming and nice despite us probably getting in their way of pre closing. They even asked me if it was my first time! Which it was. :) The food was fresh and hot. Fries were well seasoned and crispy. The pickles were a nice touch which helped level out all the fried food in between bites. I got the Hot spicy level chicken and that was like perfect. I'm curious to go hotter but don't want to regret it but since they offer honey maybe it'll be worth the risk. They got both indoor and outdoor (patio) dining. The outdoor area is build up nicely. Instead of putting just a few tables and umbrella out. It's actually enclosed with big windows. Very nice place to eat outdoor. Now the food. Menu is simple, basically chicken strip and chicken slider. 4 meals offered only. But very generous in size. We tried the #1 and #3 today. The medium hot is really medium hot (unlike some restaurants, medium means barely any spice), but it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. The size of the strip varies a lot. A lot two medium piece, but my son got a HUHE piece. It's funny that they always put a slice of bread under the chicken strip. The fries is ok. I wish that it's a bit more crispy though. The only problem that I have is the time it took to get the food. It supposed to be fast food. But it took more than 15 minutes for us to get our food. And the restaurant is not even super busy. But I know that it's a new establishment, so it's probably take time to get the routine better. So overall, price is good and we enjoy the food and the environment. The hubby and I tried the sliders which were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Just fyi my husband tried the medium and said it wasn't spicy at all. I'm not a fan of spice so I tried the mild lite and it was nice. The fries, I would not recommend. They tasted like greasy frozen fries literally nothing special. My hubby tried the cheese fries and the cheese melted on top was like super low quality American cheese. Skip the fries and stick to the sliders! We were looking forward to the opening of Dave's HC and eager to try something different. Parking was TIGHT since the spaces are shared with Mimi's Cafe. No drive thru and only dine in. The inside was clean and we LOVE the decor and employee T shirts, very cool. It was not crowded and we were surprised since it's Sunday lunch time and the parking lot was full. Cashier was friendly and quickly took our order since no one was in line and few tables inside and outside were occupied. It took much longer than we expected to get the food given that it was not particularly busy, also, we were used to Raising Cane drive thru speed. But we patiently waited, expecting freshly cooked food. The chicken was delicious, tasted like kettle cooked BBQ chips with crispy/hard coating and the inside was moist. It also reminded me of the Popeyes chicken sandwich. We were disappointed that the fries were room temperature - it was apparent that it had been sitting for a while. I took off one star because of the payment system - it's one of those electronic pad asking you to choose whether you'd like to give 18%, 20% tips or no tips at the bottom (if I remember the numbers correctly) when the cashier was staring. Come on, this restaurant operates the same way as any other fast food restaurants - we order at the cashier, go find our own table, collect food ourselves at the counter and clean up the baskets and put them back, what's the 20% tips for even before I eat? I'd be ok too if anyone came by getting our feedback and offered to take our baskets, Nada! (Despite many employees/corporate people, family hanging out). I'm also ok with a cash tip jar, similar to Chipotle, next to the cashier. Please, what you are doing is alienating your customers. I came in tonight and it did not disappoint!! So happy that they are finally opened in my neighborhood of Monrovia!! When I walked in the line was long and they were bustling with business! Went to Dave's chicken for the first time on opening day. There were lots of tables inside and outside with music playing. Everything was clean and the workers were attentive to every table. I got a lite mild chicken slider and fries. The chicken slider was great! I do think the lite mild wasn't spicy enough for me. And even without the spice I still think this is an amazing burger. If you're unsure of how spicy to go, I'd recommend starting with mild, and working your way up. Ooh and the fries were amaze. You can eat this without ketchup and not get dry mouth. Great. The milkshake is $3.99 for a small and tastes just like the one at In N Out. I ordered my meal to go. Everyone working there was friendly. When I got home and opened the meal it was huge. The slider was more like a sandwich. I paid almost $21 for the meal. You can share it for sure. The fries were like a standard medium size fry. They're crinkle cut with a bit of seasoning. Nothing too special in that department. The slider bun was amazing. It was super soft. The chicken was okay. It wasn't dry, but it lacked flavor. The heat comes from a sauce they add on.
