Chicken tenders are great. Comes on a piece of white bread or you. I enjoyed the sandwich version that you can get with a nice, spicy sauce on top. Pickles are a bonus. Decent amount of seating. Tried this today for the first time. They pretty much only do big ol' king-sized hot chicken strips, either in or out of slider buns, and that's just fine because they do them so well. I got medium strips and they had a bit of sweet to the spice and the perfect amount of heat for me. They were juicy and crispy, and came with fries, which were also perfectly cooked, hot and crispy outside and soft inside. Don't forget to ask for packets of the Dave's sauce! It's a must for dipping everything in. This blew away my local competition--KFC & Popeye's. We were on a road trip when we went, and it's in a different state, 6.5 hours from my house. I was turned on to Nashville hot chicken when I visited Prince's (arguably the first hot chicken place) in Nashville in 2019. It was dang good. When Lardo did a pop up with Hattie's, it was excellent, but after the weekend ended, my hopes of finding delicious hot chicken were gone...until Daves Hot Chicken decided to come to the Portland/Tualatin area. Chicken was crunchy and well seasoned (I chose medium but there are several levels to choose from). Flavor was great- the pickles, slaw and sauce complimented well! Be aware that the "slider" size is very big! I ordered the 2 Slider combo with fries and wished I would have just got one slider! I gave 4 stars because the mac and cheese wasn't anything special... Loved it. Chicken was just the right amount of meat and right amount of breading, the spice level was just bordering on too much (I believe I got the Hot) and the fries were decent. I just had the chicken tenders, which came with two slices of white bread. If I could tell them to change that part of their menu I would. Don't include the bread, unless you're going to butter it and garlic it, it's just wasted. The vibe was young and loud, that part I didn't enjoy (not that I'm particularly old) but the music level was a bit hard to have a conversation over, even in the semi-outside area. But that area with the heat lamps was really nice to sit in even if the only chair options were metal, no-back stools. Anyway, simple menu and well done. So I honestly dont understand what all the hype is about. I've tried their chicken twice and found it to be so oily with way too much seasonings on top. My friends however loved it. The menu is simple with just chicken tenders or sliders at different spice levels but I dont find it to be crispy or anything mindblowing. I rather go to Chick Fila and have a better experience. Overall, the place is clean and the staff is nice and suggest different spice levels and are willing to remake your order if you've gotten carried away and ordered a spice level too high which my friend did haha. After seeing ads for Dave's all over Instagram, we recently ordered it for delivery and were super impressed with the quality even after it having been driven to us. It came hot, fresh, and spicy. I got combo 3 and my fiancé got combo 2. The chicken was juicy and not overly breaded or seasoned. I like spicy food so I enjoyed the Reaper but it was too hot for my fiancé so he stuck with the hot heat level. I'm personally super happy to find a place with cheese fries too since that doesn't really seem to be a thing out here. Would probably skip the side of kale slaw next time since it didn't do much for me in terms of seasoning. Not a huge issue but we drive 30 minutes to get here and you have your heart set on extra hot! Reaper will come back to haunt you the next day if you know what I mean... We also ordered the mac and cheese which was just plain old Kraft Mac n cheese. It was horrible. We also ordered the cheese fries which were meh. We will be sticking to the sliders and fries going forward. The chicken strips come with fries and plain white bread... This should be Texas toast or something, especially for the cost. I've had Dave's 4 times now & I've been satisfied every visit!! Unfortunately I just never get the chance to take a photo before eating my meal. Their chicken sliders are just enough. The chicken is always so tender, never dry but still crispy.
