    Build Your Own Bagel/Sandwich

Built myself a bfast bagel with eggs, turkey bacon and hash browns. Pretty good! Not the best in the city but still a solid choice for a quick morning fix. Liked the addition of the hashbrowns. Price is comparable to other vendors, service was speedy and friendly. They have a variety of sammies, breads and drinks.

Absolutely delicious! I found this place on a whim as I was in the Delancey area and was looking for a place to have breakfast. I took my chances and ordered the Radio City breakfast sandwich on toasted sesame bagel. My mind was blown upon first bite. Eggs, corn beef, hash brown, cheese , what a combination! It was worth every penny.

Prep kitchen in Essex Market, street level. Sesame seed bagel w smoked salmon spread ($5.25) was 5/5 stars. Fam enjoyed premade breakfast sandwiches, 3.75/5 stars given price. Cinnamon babka was 2.5/5 stars and apple stick was 2/5 stars don't bother on either -- better to buy at Trader Joe's 1 block away. Counter service was friendly. Small seating area next to counter, restrooms and additional seating upstairs and downstairs.

Wow. NYC bagels and all the shmear that goes with it. The Essex Market, which it is inside, is a tour all on its own. A great place to visit for all the baked goods you're looking for plus delicious sandwiches.

Remember to check in for a free drip coffee (which was surprisingly very tasty). My bf ordered an iced oat milk latte and a cinnamon bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The total was $10. The latte was pretty good and the bagel was good as well, but nothing special. The cashier was super nice! Overall the quality is just okay, but the free coffee and friendly service are what bumped this experience from 3 to 4 stars.

Pretty good breakfast options, including breakfast burritos. Iced coffee was good. Try the rainbow bagel, because why not!

Toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese was really good.

Ok. Minus 1 star for adding me to your email marketing list without my permission. Seriously? The only thing I did was pay using my credit card on your Square POS. That doesn't give you permission to start spamming me. ------ Cute place in Essex Market that serves bagels, muffins, cookies, etc. Only like 6 stools to sit and eat so it's mostly take with you. We just had the bagels and they were really good NY bagels. Essex Market seems like a cool place to check out and grab breakfast/lunch.

The bagels in the window that caught my attention

I crave good bagels and will travel miles to get one. Having lived in New York for many years I know a good bagel when I find one, similar to truly good pizza. While visiting the Tenement Museum across the street I saw this place out of the corner of my eye. The window with bagels made me clamor for one and run through traffic to get it. We bought a couple of everything bagels. Since we were getting them to have later we did want a schmear, and they were so accommodating to give us a small container just for the two bagels. We were thankful not to have to buy a large container. Well we toasted the bagels later, applied the schmear and it was EXCEPTIONAL! A real New York bagel. The texture and taste was perfect. It is obvious that the way they are specially prepared makes all the difference. If in New York go out of your way to get a truly great bagel.

Bagels are very good. Very chewy. I had the cinnamon raisin and everything bagel (bit salty for me). Very generous on the cream cheese.

And when I opened the bagel open I could see the cheese from both ends of the bagel melting apart, I was in heaven. It tasted so good. I ordered a toasted gluten free bagel with cream cheese and what I got was cold and pale. I took a bite and it was disgusting. Many gluten free bread products need to be toasted to be edible which is why I always get them toasted. My receipt said toasted. The bagel was pale and cold. And falling apart. A different bagel store refused to sell their gluten free bagels untoasted. At least they didn't give me food that I couldn't eat. I will not be going back to NYCB&CH anytime soon because that experience left a bad taste in my mouth...literally. But if I do I will make sure to check my bagel before I go.

You have the try the pumpernickel everything bagel with za'atar and olive cream cheese. Something I never would've thought I'd like but the ultimate savory slam to your tastebuds! The service was very friendly, the food was even more so. I was absolutely blown away with the amount of fresh, hand-made cream cheese / butter / spread selections - some of the ones that were available when I came were: Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter, Garlic Parsley Butter, Walnut Raisin Cream Cheese, Strawberry Cream Cheese, Cinnamon Roll Cream Cheese, Olive Cream Cheese, Nutella Chip Cream Cheese, Lemon Poppy Cream Cheese, Jalapeno Cheddar Cream Cheese, Garlic Herb Cream Cheese, Bacon Cheddar, Chili Crisp, Basil Pesto... I mean seriously the options are ENDLESS. Sweet, salty, savory, you name it. I will admit, it's a bit overwhelming because you want to try it all especially because they're all beautifully displayed. Even after you pick the spread, you still have to choose from one of the many different bagel options too so.. that's the hard part - making choices! There is seating available both in and outside. It's within a great walking distance and easily visible / accessible. Love, love, love!! I'm not from NYC, I was visiting so I will be missing this place whole heartedly - until next time!

When we got there, although there was a line, it looked like it was moving fairly quick! Still, our order was ready for us at the pick-up station so we walked in and found a corner spot. It's pretty snug inside, and although there are a few tables and some standing areas, most people got their food and left. There are also some tables outside if you're lucky to snag one! - FOOD - Salmon on Everything Bagel: Nicely toasted bagel, yet still has a nice chew on the inside. Huge portion of Salmon! I wish I could've tried a flavored cream cheese, but didn't want too many flavors mixing at once. Vanilla Iced Latte: Just OK coffee - nothing to write home about but it was a solid cup of caffeine. - OVERALL - Definitely a great way to start your day in NYC!
