First time at DC Steak House and I have to say I was not disappointed. I love what downtown chandler is doing to revamp and make the area more attractive and DC Steak House really adds to that. The place looks upscale and modern and delivers a memorable experience. We were seated outside per preference and the patio was really nice and since the nights are cooling off it's getting nicer and nicer to sit outside. While we were seated quickly, the rest of the service did not follow. We sat there for a while before water came out and than again before our order was taken. Perhaps they were short staffed but it was a Tuesday night... We ordered the pan fried chicken over pasta and the New York strip. Along with a signature cocktail. No complaints about the food. It was cooked well and it tasted great. There were no complaints about the food. Overall, great night spot. Whether you want fancy date night or casual dining DC Steak House delivers on both fronts. We went here last Saturday night on Valentine's Day as a party 4 with a reservation. Check-in process was fairly straightforward and simple. They walked us outside and sat us at a black plastic folding table with a tablecloth on it and cheap plastic chairs. The rest of the restaurant has nice table tables and chair chairs and we got sat at the black plastic table with folding chairs. Their menu was a paper menu like literally a Xerox paper menu. The service was not bad, but it was mid at best. From what I could gather the server had a section inside and was assigned us as her only outside table. We asked for the patio heater to be turned on and this never happened, so I got up and turned it on. It had a piece of ducked tape to hold the valve open/on. All this meant was everything came to us a lot later and a lot slower. Drink refills were painfully slow. The food was mid at Best. The service was mid. The four of us were extremely disappointed at the overall experience. I have had worse service and food at other places that I would return to. At a place like DC steakhouse, I would expect more. Had a terrible experience here, was waiting for dinner to come out and a waitress dropped a huge thing of BBQ sauce on the ground and it flew all over me, ruined my brand new white shoes, jeans, shirt, and hat, even got on my face lol. It was obviously a mistake so I didn't want to make her feel bad in that awkward moment. But having sauce all over me just ruined the night, then the manager came over and said they would take care of any dessert I wanted lol. Never one to try and get a free meal out of it but ruining an outfit and being covered in BBQ sauce I guess I figured it was getting comped for sure. It was just a awful experience overall, had to ask for silverware when we got appetizer, had to ask for a fork when we got our steaks, had to ask for napkins during dinner, then the manager didn't even take the $8 dessert off on my bill when I got it, so was just beyond annoyed and had a terrible experience, the manager didn't remember anything when it came to helping our table but he sure did remember to pick a girl up who straddled him while grabbing and holding her up by her butt, what a strange environment and terrible overall night. I visited DC Steakhouse while in Chandler for business. Their outdoor seating area was a perfect place to enjoy the AZ weather! My server was excellent and very friendly. I started with a beer from a local brewery and some fresh bread with butter. For an appetizer, I ordered the cheese curds, which were different than any I'd previously had, but so delicious. I then got my salad that came with my meal before the main attraction: a NY strip that was perfectly cooked, with a baked potato, which came with butter, sour cream, and chives on the side. Unfortunately this restaurant has really gone downhill in quality. We had noticed it heading that way for awhile so we waited almost a year before trying it again. Last night it was just bad. The service was really bad. They were super nice when they did come and check on the table but that was far and few between. The walleye was extremely dry and no one came around to ask if we needed anything when I really needed lemon. Needless to say it wasn't eaten, and no one asked if everything was okay. We had a larger party and most were not pleased with the quality of their food, especially for the price. Things are obviously pricey these days, but what's being charged for Applebees type steak isn't acceptable. We do love the atmosphere and the place is always clean and welcoming. We took our mom there for her 87th birthday dinner and it has changed so much that the food wasn't even good. I had the filet mignon and it had a funny flavor to it. Nice steak house in the heart of downtown Chandler. I came with a large party and they did a good job of hosting us. The menu consists of American classics and seafood. I hadn't had a steak in quite some time and ordered a top sirloin with a bake potato and an Old Fashioned. We also ordered a variety of appetizers to pass around. Our overall experience was great. The person organizing our party picked up the tab so I don't really have an opinion on their prices for this review. DC Steak House is located in a plaza area with a few other restaurants and conveniently has a parking garage right next to it. They have happy hour Sun-Th and occasionally have live music. Finding the store was quick and easy. Parked at the parking garage behind the Hilton Garden Inn and walked up to the storefront. The ambiance is elegant and somewhat romantic. We were quickly seated and given menus. The options don't disappoint as they offer a wide variety. I ordered their 5 oz filet and 5 oz lobster. The quality of the meat and lobster was amazing. The flavors were there! While my food was great, I must admit for it being a slow Tuesday evening, the service wasn't what I would have expected. I saw a few comments from other users about this place so thought I would try it out. I had no idea if or when I would be able to go so I was lucky to get a table without reservations. It took a few minutes waiting for the hostess to stop talking to a coworker and turn around and notice me waiting for a table. I ordered the ribeye and sweet potato fries. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it which is great. The sweet potato fries were fried just right. As more people came I noticed that I was the only table my server did not give me a complementary bread basket. I got there the sun was setting and was already somewhat dark inside. By the time I left the sun was gone and just got even darker inside. I had to turn on my cell flashlight on to read my check. When I read my check I was shocked they charged me $1 when I asked for a side of ranch for my sweet potato fries and a charge to pay by credit card. Utterly disappointing! Service was incredibly mediocre. We weren't served bread until we asked for it while I observed the other tables around us had bread. Someone in our party of 6 has dietary restrictions, which was explained to the wait staff, and when asked for hot water or substitutions, answers were met with an immediate "no". Food was bland and lacked originality. The ribeye was $68 and tasted like it had been burned on a barbecue grill, Sizzler's does a better job. Even more incredible, they charged 3.2% of the total bill if you used a credit card. Our bill was over $300. Who brings over $300 in cash to a reputable steakhouse???? Additionally, they didn't accept American Express cards. I went to a mom and pop gyro shop yesterday and they accepted Am Ex!! Who charges extra to use a credit card???? Awful price for middling food. If you want a good steak much less a simple quality meal with real service, go to Bourbon and Bones or even The Keg. Actually you can be served better food with real service at half the price at Outback Steakhouse. I am at a complete lost for the positive reviews given their lack of quality and service. Went here while visiting town for my daughters birthday. Bustling spot in Chandler, but plenty of parking around back in free multi-story garage. Less than 5 min walk. Vibe is like an Uber Steakhouse, but they allow casual dress, which works for me ... not fussy. Seating combo of tables and banquets. Most are set up for 3-5 parties, although there are a bunch of 2-tops outside, which I'd recommend if the weather is cooperating and you are on a date. The inside is cavernous, and when it's crowded (weekends), it's pretty noisy and hard to hear (the only nit I had that leaned me to 4-star rather than 5. The food and service were amazing for us. 5-oz filets around the table with my 8-oz filet with loaded baked potato and I added three seared scallops to make it a surf and turf. Others in my party ordered the thin cut fries (loved them) and the sweet potato fries. A nice wine list, although all pretty much from US. There are some seafood options on menu, but go for the steak. Really flavorful and tender, and all 4 of us ordered different temps and they all came out together PERFECTLY COOKED. For my daughters birthday, she was presented with an individual molten chocolate cake with a little Roman candle in it! Nice touch. Typical fine steakhouse pricing, cuts of meat ranging from mid-to high $40"s and $50's per plate. Expect to drop $60-70 per person with a drink, tax and tip. read more

I have been wanting to try this place as another option to my regular steakhouse. This place is all hype and about 30% more compared to other chain steakhouses. The steak was cooked well but the flavor was average at best and the overall price to quality wasn't there. The baked potato was a little dry and flavorless. The salad was average. I think it sucks you have to pay for bread when the steaks cost more but not better quality than elsewhere. Honestly, the only thing this place has is its "fancy" inside and that's it. The waitress did her job. If you are looking for an upscale atmosphere with an average at best steak then this is the place for you. read more

I have driven past this place plenty of times and am in Downtown Chandler a lot. My family and i decided to go here to celebrate my uncles birthday. Unfortunately I will not be back or recommending, the food and cocktails are subpar. Quality-less ingredients and way too sugary of cocktails. The steak seems to have been cooked in the microwave and was nearly rare when i ordered medium. The caesar salad was more like an Italian dressing as there wasn't an ounce of creamy ness in the dressing. It honestly looked like it had been tossed on water. The swordfish and salmon were actually cooked very well but was lacking flavor. I really wanted to like this place even after the shitty food and drinks because I live in Chandler and love my city, but then when the bill came i changed my mind. When making a reservation for a party larger than 8, you have to put down a $100 non-refundable deposit (which fortunately goes towards your bill) and apparently you have to also bring it up to your server to ensure it gets deducted from the bill because when the bill came, the $100 wasn't taken off. They also charge $5.95 for using a credit card. If you want a nice quality dinner, go to Hidden House. read more

My family wanted to try this local place despite it having some pretty bad reviews. I really scrutinized every part of our dinner experience as a result and would say it wasn't terrible or great overall. I do feel they get off on the wrong foot with all their rules. No substitutions, there are charges for splitting plates and paying with a credit card, no kids under 6 (except we saw a toddler). Next, a plus for me: Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer on the menu. I'm familiar with this beer out of San Diego and was happy to be able to order this to drink. Since I don't eat red meat, to eat I was considering: grilled shrimp entree ($39), halibut special (I think pan seared with lemon caper sauce, $53ish), scallops special (choice of cooking method, $61ish). Since I wasn't convinced this place was worthy of entering the splurge range, I went with the shrimp - although $39 struck me as pretty high for grilled shrimp. All the entrees except pasta come with a green salad to start then a choice of baked potato/fries/SP fries (no substitutions on either, not even for a surcharge). I thought the salad was acceptable and pretty good actually. The right portion size too. It included fresh greens, black olives, and I chose the Italian balsamic with feta dressing - yum! For the side with my grilled shrimp I had the baked potato, which was a little on the small side but fine. I liked that the toppings were served on the side, with plenty of butter and I could put just a little sour cream and green onion (wish those had been chives). The shrimp itself was good but didn't blow me away. There were 6 on the plate which for how huge they were was too many for me. A tad salty but shrimp is salty. We also ordered a side of grilled asparagus to share which was ok. The asparagus were pretty thin. We were celebrating my parents' anniversary so they gave us a free molten chocolate cake with a crazy sparkler candle. There were many tables celebrating something the night we went and they were all given some other GIANT slice of cake (hard to tell what kind - it was much too big for anyone to finish even sharing) with the same candle, which seemed to go better. Our server put the sparkler right in the middle of our molten cake and it started toppling to the side and she just walked away (otherwise the service was pretty good). This could have been a disaster setting the paper over the table cloth on fire but my dad fearlessly held the candle up with a utensil. Also my parents enjoyed their filet mignons. Thought they were very good. We didn't like that from our table we had to see wrestling on a big screen TV the entire "fine dining" experience. All in all, I would have considered giving 4 stars to this place if not for the super high prices and rules that I think are only merited if the food and experience are exceptional. Where do I start!!! The outside is inviting and a great date spot and even a nice spot to meet pals at the bar area. The restaurant area is very red in color and has a different vibe, it's cool that they have booths for more privacy. I can't put my fingers on the vibe but it's one that you'd have to check out for yourself. I like the bar area and the outside seating though. Speaking of the bar area... I'm disappointed and held off on reporting as I promised this bartender that I would after he scammed me.( I mentioned that I was a yelper at the end, when he kept saying he would be fired) I feel set up, betrayed, and scammed all at once. Why, do you ask? Well... I was in the bar area having a whine down, breakdown, cocktail ... just 1 freaking cocktail alone to think. Christian, a bartender here, told me that he wanted me to try a spicy cocktail that was listed on the menu , which he made well( and that would be on him, out of his pockets) after the 1 cocktail that I was already having. Christian then asked me if I were ready to try his cocktail after finishing my first and only one planned. This foo charged me $12 for the 2nd, "on him" cocktail. Can you believe this? When I asked him about it, he laughed it off and rather than to reverse the$12 charge he told me to return the following Saturday at the same time, which he'd be there to give me "2 drinks on him and that since he felt "so bad" about charging me for a drink that he said was on him, that he was also bringing me cookies that his grandma makes to make up for his so-called"mistake". These are words from his mouth where witnesses were there to cheer me on, telling me to be sure to return to make him eat his words. Christian then, proceeded to keep saying that he was going to be fired for what he did and I told him that, I would not report him just yet, giving him a chance to fix his scam on the following Saturday, same time, same place. I returned this time to have dinner and to have him make good on his promise, on the following Sat, to find that Christian did not come to work which he promised he'd be there! The nice Lady at the bar told me that he worked on Friday, a day before instead. Please roll the cameras back, Manager!!!: The only reason I'm pissed about all of this is, "HOW" he scammed me into paying $12 for a second drink. I don't have a problem paying for anything I willingly order, but I do have a problem being scammed into something that I wouldn't have tried if he hadn't run his mouth and made all of these promises! I even tipped him and told him that I still tip because it's my character to always tip even, after his scam!!! Is this what the bartenders are taught to do at this restaurant? I don't know, but I do know that it's horrible business practice if so! Everyone is dealing with their stress one way or another with gas, food, and living expenses and some of us stopping off to have 1 cocktail shouldn't turn into yet another scam out here in the world! I hope that the Managemen team reads this because this is something that should never happen again to anyone. How often is he taking advantage of people to gain from it? We've always been curious and finally tried DC steakhouse. We were so pleasantly surprised with how great it was! The steaks were cooked perfectly, staff was attentive and professional. We sat at a booth in the bar area and it was perfect - not too formal, but nice enough we felt we were at a steak dinner, if that makes sense. The only downfall I would say was that they charge for a bread basket. I'm of the mind when at a steakhouse, that's included. The basket was good but too much variety if that even makes sense- pretzel bread, three other kinds, etc. all tasted great. I just want dinner rolls with my filet. We had filet and a sirloin and both steaks had great flavor. The sides were all great as well. Came with a salad which we tried the wasabi ranch dressing and it was lights out! Celebrated a family birthday at this steakhouse for the first time. Let's start with the parking. Parking is free in the garage, it is a nice walk to the restaurant. You can park closer, but there is a fee after 4:00 p.m. Be sure to read the Dress Code requirements, which are ignored. The service is very good and the menu has seafood options. Now the food. This is a steakhouse that serves delicious fish. Steaks were overcook, and the bread is not warm (even though they have an oven for the baked potatoes. Steak entrees are served with a salad, baked potato, and mushrooms, so the price is worth it. I had the seafood so I would go again. One last thing, as the weather gets better and you want to sit in the patio, the music from the neighboring restaurant is so loud you will not have a peaceful meal. read more

I grew up in the restaurant business from washing dishes to hand service as a dinner waiter at a 5 star 5 diamond relais & Chateau property. I have never had worse service than sitting at the bar and spending $150 on dinner for one and 2 expensive glasses of wine at DC Steakhouse. I love Caymus so the wine was worth it but the two bar people spent the entire time talking about their time off and which one is more deserving. The manager seemed just as disinterested in her customers as the two bar servers. I could go anywhere and spend $150 for one person and be treated better. Short fake bartender and the 20 something year old cohort that spent zero time attending to a really easy and low maintenance customer. Will never be back. The one thing that stood out was how much the prices have gone up...wow! I guess some of that can be attributed to the rising costs of the goods, but I will bet that the new location has been factored into the prices also. So, while the service was really nice, I'm not so sure that the value is really there. While the steaks were cooked just right, it was salty. Almost makes you wonder if that's on purpose to drive up the bar tab. While I understand that going out to a nice establishment is supposed to be a nice treat, it does still need to be a value proposition to give people a desire to want to come back in the future. One other item that bugged me was the additional credit card fee that gets added to the bill if you didn't bring enough cash.
