Not knowing the shop had moved, I went to the old location and saw the sign. The new location is next to City Thai. It's more spacious, comfortable and upscale. Mani & pedicure is now $28, $2 extra for spa. Unless you know which technician you want, it is a crapshoot. The lady who did my nails took her name and did a wonderful job, not to mention friendly. The lady who worked on my toes was distracted by phone calls (business) and chit chatting. I noticed that night, the color on one of my toes already started chipping. Overall, they do a decent job. I appreciated the new safety protocols- clear window frame on wheels that had a bottom panel that opened just for the hands. Sadly the woman doing my nails was in a rush during my nails. On my feet she took too much skin off my side of the big nail and made me bleed. On my other foot she cut too much nail on my big toe. On a couple of my other toe she used the buffer too much and quickly where it burned/sensitive to the touch now. On the 2nd day after spending about $80 for 2 regular mani pedis, my finger nails are starting to chip. Lastly. They have very good prices. I spent $30 on a full set of acrylics and they lasted weeks. I went somewhere else and spent $90 and they only lasted 5 days. This place is definitely amazing. They cut you every once in a while but they always do an amazing job on your nails. I've been coming here for years. I spend less then $50 for a full set of acrylics and a pedicure. It's amazing I went back to this place and paid for a package pedicure which included removing calluses, an exfoliating sea scrub, and a 5 minute hot lotion massage. The lady was obviously New. She scrubbed way to hard on my feet to remove my calluses that it hurt. The sea scrub was the only decent thing. She didn't do the hot lotion massage AT ALL. I went with my friend and when she got it I asked why I didn't receive it. Then when I asked her to do it she gave me barely a minute of rubbing lotion on my legs. After I told them I wasn't going to pay for a bad service. I offered to pay for the mail polish because it looked really nice. But then this lady got all in my face and told me she NEEDED to take the polish off my toes. I was absolutely furious and walked out. I refuse to come back here. This isn't that kind of place. Let's set the record straight. They are NOT dirty. They are constantly inspected. They DO have professional dryers. UV lights with fan built in. Always get KELLY for waxing. She is incredible and gentle. If you want intense spa treatments, go to a spa, dummy! If you are going for a Pedicure. Bring your own Sandals! Isn't' that common sense? O.o Bring cash for tips. They take CC, but don't have a place to write in tip. De Lacey will ALWAYS put regulars first. When you go there often, you are FAMILY. My mother and I have been going here for over 4 years and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. In fact, my mom drives 60 miles to come here and have Chen do her nails. She truly considers Chen a friend. This also isn't one of those places that will charge you for every tiny add on. But if there is an additional price, they will always tell you first. Always. You can't beat their prices. If you are polite to them, and treat them as humans, you'll be shocked at how well your services will turn out. I will not be coming here again. The girl who did my eyebrow waxing (NOT KELLY, someone else), royally effed up my skin and did a horrible job. I still had wax on my face when I left.... I had sooooo many hairs left both under my brow and over...like clumps of hair trapped in wax...i didnt see it until i got in my car and saw it in the sunlight. it's been hours since the wax and my skin is beet red....and i have bumps under my eyebrows. the girl didn't shape my brows at all, just took off the far away strays... that is not what i asked for... I have never had such a horrible wax in my life....like, ever. my brows look like shit, my skin is damaged, and i had to pull on my delicate eye-area skin to get the wax off. i always told people to come here to get waxed....never again. This place is right across the delacey parking structure (first 90min-free), although I miss this place everytime i pass by it (at least 50 times). There's practically nothing to tell u the shop name except for this fudgy green tarp that says "De Lacey Beauty Shoppe". Once inside, you see rows of manicurists fussing over their customers. They asked u what service u want, and u immediately notice a card-board sign that describes the kind of services they provide. Ask for the spa pedicure-the difference is that for $3, u get to sit in a massage chair with the aero-jets, versus on an office chair in a plastic tub of soapy water. The mani and pedi package for spa pedicure is $28, the cheapest i've found. They have a wide variety of nail polishes to choose from-OPI, Essie and Orly. Any color imaginable. All the nail techs are vietnamese, but very friendly and not-snotty, unlike Happy nails place in Paseo. I notice they also use Orly base-coats, as opposed to some cheap ones. As a result, my manicure lasted a week before chipping, and my pedicure a whole month. Definitely recommend this place for a cheap and quick beauty moment! read more

While the hubby was finishing up his tat in Alhambra - I decided to kill some time exploring Old Pasadena (which I am now super fond of). yelpers definitely came through on this one! While walking - I quickly found this place on my phone, peeked in to see if they'd take walk-ins and was seated immediately for my mani-pedi spa. For $26 bucks, I got a great mani/pedi (it's been about a week - and still no chips!) and the women were super nice to me though I can see how service here would be hit-or-miss as I witnessed the owner bark at some clients who came in after me to "way rie dare! onlee ten meenut! (translation: please wait about 10 minutes, and we'll make sure to have you seated when we have an available technician). They did not seem pleased, but my amusement overrides anyone elses discomfort. :) Definitely not a luxury salon, but it gets the job done and for the price, it's probably the best and most affordable way to pamper yourself in between shopping sessions. TIP: Tips (no pun intended) is in cash only - which I did not have. The techs that worked on my assured me it was fine and I could tip them "next time." I sought out an ATM anyways and came back to tip them. Parking - there is a lot directly across the street from here and the first 90 minutes are free! De Lacey is a one way street though (which I found out the hard way) so to get to the lot, you'll have to come from the south and get in your left lane to turn into the structure. read more

De Lacey Beauty Shoppe is pretty big and staffed with a lot of ladies, so I was able to get in without a wait. $12 for a regular manicure, not the cheapest but not too bad. Even though I liked that they have quite a selection of OPI and Essie nail polishes, I wasn't very impressed with the place because they didn't have any professional drying machines at all. There were just a few small plastic fans set up on coffee tables and on the floor, so that it was quite inconvenient and uncomfortable having to hold out my arms in order to dry my nails. This past Friday I decided to come here for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I usually get a regular mani/pedi at N&J Nails on Lake can't beat the $20 but I wanted a nice gel manicure and good service. Unfortunately, this time I did not receive either. The lady who did my gel manicure did a terrible job because my nails not only chipped but were straight coming off by Monday! 3 days later I had 3 fingers of my left hand chipped or half off and my right hand had two fingers. I paid about $40 and so I came in to have them remove all of them and fix them because you could tell the rest were soon to follow. They knew exactly who did my nails, sounds like she usually does a poor job and they said they'd charge me, ok fine I was thinking like $10 nope they wanted to charge me $20! When a gel manicure is $25 wth! I'm not even getting a manicure I just want you to fix what you messed up! They wanted me to pay a total of $45 ($25 I paid on Friday and $20 to have them repainted) just for my nails that I got done Friday and 3 days later were coming off. Not including what I already paid for my pedicure plus tip! Ridiculous!!! You should learn a thing or 2 about customer service because this is not it. Needless to say I still ended up paying $5 to have them removed and I left! I will never come here again and make sure my sister and friends stop coming as well. 10 years and counting and I have been a "regular" at Delacey! When you get your nails done on a regular basis, it becomes more of a chore after awhile versus something special. At Delacey, though, I can expect consistency and I have never been let down. Many of the technicians have been working there for years, the salon itself is relatively clean, most of the time I can walk right in without making an appointment. In addition, there are LOTS of amazing polish colors (gel colors as well!) to choose from. Chen and Lynn, both co-owners, are fabulous and do an amazing job making sure the salon is run effectively and efficiently. If you're looking for something luxurious or a paraffin treatment or all that fancy, schmancy stuff, go to a day spa or another salon. For the price and the location, Delacey can't be beat! Parking is a cinch as well. You can park in the Delacey Parking Structure right across the street. The first 90 minutes are free and after that, it's $2 per hour up to $6 maximum. This place was recommended by a friend and was close by to both our work areas. We called prior to make an appointment for two at 6:15 p.m. The shop closes at 6:30 or 7:00 I believe, so the ladies were getting irritated and talking a lot trash because my friend was running late due to traffic. All this time they had no idea I understood their language so could understand everything they were saying lol. Customer Service? RUDE. Had to pay prior to receiving the service, not because they were worried that my nails will smudge (I got gel so it wouldn't matter anyways) but because they were rushing to close. Why did you agree to schedule our appointments at 6:15 if you closed 15-30 mins later? Quality Of Work? BAD. I got gel nails & normally they last me about 3 weeks. These here starting chipping off within the 1st week. I also hate how they stick your hands under the UV for over 1-2 minutes in the very beginning.. how damaging is that! After the 1st week, I noticed so much extra skin from every fingernail and how damaged/thin my nails got. Also, the paint started chipping from the bottom up, so that felt super annoying everything I would take a shower! Cost? Turning off the lights as they were packing to go when there's still customers waiting for their nails to be dry? They were very eager to leave that they told me they're closed as I was one of the customers still drying my nails. $22 for a regular manicure and pedicure. Just exactly what I needed. I was just walking by after my late lunch and came in not sure who to ask for a pedicure. After looking lost for a couple of seconds someone asked me what I wanted. She told me how long it would take and I asked for change for 2 dollars so I can feed my meter. She gladly gave me change and when I got back they were getting ready for my pedicure. I thought I had cut others in line, but the "waiting" area is actually the drying area. With a basin lined with a disposable plastic, some soap and hot water, I soaked my feet. She trimmed, and scrubbed. Then massaged feet and lower legs with oil. I'm not sure how they clean their instruments but they had one box that said "clean" and one said "soiled" so I felt a little safer about not getting some sort of infection. She also wore gloves. Another woman worked on my hands and thank god she trimmed them without making me bleed (yes I've had a bad experience at another salon back home in Sunnyvale). 30 minutes later I was done and off to the drying station. Without my slippers on I tip-toed to the station trying to avoid nail clippings on the floor. 10 minutes later I was out of there with cute coral toes and manicured fingers.
