This is probably more a three star place - I mean, the food isn't exceptional, it isn't a pretty place, but That's kind of what I liked about it. It looks like a diner in a really small town. No frills. The kind of place where the salad is iceberg lettuce with some american cheese strips on top. But the prices were right, no wait (in fact the food came out really fast, servers were really friendly, and the food was just fine. I like the unpretentiousness of the place. Apparently it's been there for forty years and you can tell is mostly regular local people eating there. Also, I just got salad and a burger - I suspect if I got something more "home cooked" like the pork chop or desserts it might be really good. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Savannah. We ate breakfast here this morning. While everyone was friendly, the "customer sevice" was definitely lacking. We were asked if we wanted refills on our coffee which we said yes to and never received. As we ate and finished our food we watched two waitress (one being ours) sitting enjoying their breakfast and not batting an eye at us. I had to ask someone else for things we needed. The food was ok... nothing special but not bad either. The restaurant itself was dated and dirty. Only thing it had going for it was it's Forest Gump fame. read more

Amazing place to eat! The food was amazing, and came out a lot faster than expected! You can personalize your amount of pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and so many other things! We were a bit confused when we walked in for our first time because it looked like a bar, but we walked down the stairs and were greeted kindly by a lady who would be our server. It was sort of underground which was interesting. The menu was simple with multiple choices even for picky eaters. The portions were fairly large especially for the price! The value is certainly there for this restaurant. We didn't even know this was where Jenny worked in Forrest Gump which was a nice surprise. The only problem we had, which was not the restaurants fault, was the construction outside was literally vibrating the walls giving all 3 of the people in my party a small headache. When that is not happening, I'm sure it's a great experience. Cute little restaurant with a wonderful ambiance and a great menu with great value! We will certainly be back. read more

My whole office stopped eating here after multiple wrong orders, cold food, undercooked chicken and soggy fries. Hospitality is always good but the food is awful. The food is over priced. I ordered the small chicken finger plate and an additional order of fries with 3 honey mustards and a large tea, I didn't get the tea, only got 2 honey mustards and the plate was 2 chicken fingers and the two compartments filled with fries which cost me $10. I called and was told that i wasn't charged for the tea, didn't get an apology and was told that i received what i should have. Debi's wont get anymore money from my office. We all go to McDonoughs where we can get great food all the time for great prices. read more

I get the Western Omelette, which has bacon, ham, sausage, cheese, bell pepper and onions. The dish also comes with grits or hash browns, and toast or biscuit. Love this restaurant! The lunch specials change every day (Thursday is fried chicken day,) featuring delicious southern food so you can eat like a local. They also have a full breakfast and lunch menu with something for everyone. The staff is warm and friendly, and you'll see Debi bustling around keeping everything moving. Such a charming, cozy and friendly atmosphere with really good value for your money. It's hard to imagine anyone leaving still hungry! Traditional southern food with a pretty cool vibe to it. I personally wish the biscuit and gravy was slightly larger or came as an entree. It was on the smaller side. Hash browns aren't your typical hash browns more like a home fries everything was nice and hot very tasty. Staff was friendly and checked up on you a lot. A must see! read more

Prices are a little high in my opinion (sometimes the lettuce looks great, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes there's a lot of chicken in my salad, sometimes there's not). Breakfast is old fashioned and familiar, no surprises. Sandwiches, burgers, and salads are all good. Grilled cheese with bacon is where it's at! But $7.99 for a pretty basic grilled cheese?
