No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel.
