What a bakery! If you want some delicious cake or donuts, highly recommend! Service was fast for us when we ordered the cake. We got the triple chocolate cake and was amazinggg. Ambience is pretty cool as well!!

A spacious bakery with tons of pastry options. One counter is for coffee orders and one is for food. If you order the mug of coffee for under $2, there are free refills which is nice. But both the light roast and dark roast were surprisingly weak. The mocha also wasn't as rich and chocolately as it should be. But the chilaquiles was really good.

Went in for a few breakfast treats. The staff was welcoming and ready to help. There is so many choices it's all out and easy to see and pick. Price is right there so no guessing. The place is really cute to have breakfast or munch at. Nice and peaceful.

Bacon, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and cheese. Yum. Great coffee, too.

Great scrambled eggs with mushrooms and cheese with 2 crispy pieces of bacon. Coffee was wonderful, too. The guys at the grill always fix great food. Friendly staff.

Once again, Deerfields Bakery did an amazing job with their customized cakes - another year older for my daughter, another beautiful cake to celebrate with and remember throughout the years. Thank you!

It's my family's tradition to get all our birthday cakes at Deerfield Bakery. They always have amazing desserts/breads ANDDD I just discovered they have the most marvelous outdoor seating. There is a koi pond with fish and a gentle waterfall. There is a cafe that offers breakfast foods and coffee inside as well. The food is absolutely amazing & service is wonderful. Everyone is very kind and helpful. My favorite dish is the "everything bagel" toasted with sausage.

Deerfields Bakery is my go to place for bakery items and sweets. I'm very sorry that I didn't know about this bakery earlier or I would have been going there for a much longer time. Anytime that I need a cake, donut, pie, etc. for a special occasion, Deerfields Bakery is my first choice. Occasionally, I won't know what I'm looking for but know that I want something sweet and I'll go there to indulge my sweet tooth. Their café serves breakfast food in the morning. From their egg creations to their pancakes you will not be disappointed. They also serve Intelligentsia coffee and hot chocolate. I'm not much of a coffee drinker (my husband tells me its good) but their hot chocolate was delicious. It was very rich and creamy. It's a tradition in my family to have donuts on Christmas morning after opening gifts. On this trip we were looking for donuts for Christmas morning. We found many donuts and other pastries available. We got a few fry cakes, donuts, and creamy things (I can't tell you their names but they looked yummy). I also got a hot chocolate. They still tasted fresh the next morning when we had them. Their pastries were yummy and tasted like a high quality treat. It was pretty busy for noon on a Friday, but it was December 23. Continued quality for a good price. I will keep coming back!

I love their patties. Deerfield bakery has one of the best macaroons and cakes around. Our favorites are their fruit cakes like passion fruit. Today we got a donut and their danish. Great pastries here would recommend. Their service is wonderful and it is a two story spot with lots of seating!

I purchased several cupcakes and cookies for a bridal shower. I had 54 items for 25 people and they went so fast! They were delicious, cupcakes were very moist and they were absolutely beautiful!

Service was reasonably fast, and friendly with helpful suggestions. One thing I like about this spot is the number of bakery items they have available. These all seem to be made in house and are reasonably priced for the generous size offered. This makes it easier to spend more time here with friends as you can't get some items to hold off hunger before eating elsewhere nearby. I found the drinks here to be a bit milder in terms of flavor, but still enjoyable.

I'd like to give this place a better review, but having visited a number of area coffee shops and…read morecafes, I can't in good conscious rate them as well. There is a free parking lot with plenty of parking and I found a spot right away on an early Sunday morning. It's very bright and feels more like a retail store atmosphere than a cafe. There were only three tables and a counter running along the back wall. It was easy for two of us to just sit at a table for a while, but as more people came in, we felt guilty taking a table as we just sipped coffee and chatted. They definitely have some kinks to work out and they've only been open for a few months, and they need to train their staff better as they clearly don't understand how to serve with any type speed. They don't do traditional here. You can't just get coffee and a Danish or other typical bakery item. You can't even get toast with butter despite them offering many toast options with toppings. Here's a tip: offer toast with butter or a spread. You'll get a lot more sales with some items that are not super filling. I opted for a hot mocha coffee with an extra pump of chocolate and a crepe. Again, you can't just get plain crepes. They are homemade and should be offered plain, but I digress. I got the Hangover crepe. According to their website, this is the description of The Hangover Crepe: "Start your day right with our delicious breakfast items like bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, served till 11 AM. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing acai bowl or pair your breakfast with a cappuccino or a chai tea latte. Don't forget to try our matcha latte for a unique twist at our coffee shop in Buffalo Grove!" Look, I just do marketing for a living, so don't sell me on what you have before and after 11am. Just tell me what you get with this specific crepe. And that's bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The scrambled eggs are some of the best fluffy and dry eggs you can get anywhere. They were perfect. The hash browns were in patty form and were perfect for this dish. They serve it as a handheld, but it definitely needs a knife and fork, which you collect at the counter. You have to ask for salt and pepper or a sauce if you want. The savoryness of the items mixed with the sweetness of the crepe was a great combo. It was very tasty. But it took them quite a while to make the crepe. I was mostly finished with by hot mocha which I could have topped off for an additional fee. My compatriot wanted plain toast with butter. Mind you they have six (6) different toast offerings with all sorts of toppings. You can get your toast item made with sourdough, multigrain, white, or gluten-free. However, you can't get plain toast. And just as a side Q&A: when you order toast anywhere else, how many pieces do you typically receive? If you answered two (2) pieces/slices, you'd be correct. Irene's gave him one slice. They first toasted it and burned it badly. They make toast items. How do you screw up toast if you routinely make toast? Then they finally brought out the one slice and asked if he wanted butter. He did, so they took the toast to the kitchen and put two dabs of butter on his toast. But then they didn't give him a knife to spread it, so he used the crust of the bread to spread it on the slice. Like I stated, kinks need to be worked out. While we were there, the owner's family came in and took up two of the tables. Now all three tables were taken. And older couple came in and had to side at the counter height stools along the wall. The food was tasty, the drinks were good. Both are pricey for what they are. And they are seriously lacking seating. It would be nice to see them last in Buffalo Grove, but they need to fix the seating issue (maybe smaller rectangular tables instead of round ones?), and get things out of the kitchen faster, and drinks made more quickly to have more staying power. Oh, and have your family not come all together and take up all your tables.

There are a couple tables if you want to linger, but it's a small space overall. The servers are friendly and accommodating. I had the vegetable crepe and dragon fruit acai bowl, and both were delicious. The crepe itself is really light. The prices are on the higher end for the portion sizes.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me…read morethan most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!
