My name is Brenda Turner and I want to give a review for this Mavis Tires and Brakes location at…read more4900 Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093. I went to have an Alternator and Battery changed in my car in December 2025. I also had Front End Brakes put on and two Filters replaced. The cost was $2396.78. My reason for going there was that one evening the Battery light came on in my car which led to every light in the dash board coming on. I called Mavis to see if I could bring my car in to see what was going on with my car. I had my car towed in to their shop. I was told that they would change the Alternator and the Battery. It took them 6 hours to complete all the work that was needed. Everything seemed to work fine except the next day the Battery light came back on in my car. I called to let the shop know what was happening. I brought it back in and was told they would change the Battery. The Battery and the Alternator they put in was new and under warranty. I left and my car drove fine and no battery lights coming on. However the next day the Battery light came back on and it never went off. I then had my car towed to the dealership, which is where I should have taken it in the first place. The dealership called me the next day to let me know that the PCM had been stripped from my car and it was done by someone crossing the wires between the Battery and the Alternator. The dealership stated they could not even get a charge by doing a Diagnostic due to the PCM being stripped. The dealership had to have a PCM made for my car from the Specs of my car and it took two months for the PCM to be completed and shipped to the dealership. The cost to have the PCM replaced in my car was $945.00. After I got my car back after two months, I went to Mavis to let them know what happened and to see if they could/would re-imburse me for the work they charged me. I was told by the Manager that there was nothing they could do about it and that my Chrysler 200 was notorious for the PCM blowing out. I told him that was not TRUE. I told him I was going to go to someone higher in their company. I filed a complaint and someone called me and stated they would investigate. They came back to me and said they were not going to re-imburse me for the damages they caused to my car. I do not recommend anybody to take their vehicle to Mavis Tire and Brakes. They are heartless and to me all they care about is taking your money. The Manager of that store and the person who took the complaint should be fired. I am going to post this complaint to every Review board that is available.
