Lenin went above and beyond servicing my AC, spending much time on unclogging a drainage tube from moisture and gunk build-up. I am writing to share my recent experience with Del Air. I hired them for a "we clean your filter ducts for $29" service. To my surprise, the technician claimed I had mold and suggested replacing the unit or cleaning it for a price exceeding the cost of a new unit. After reviewing their online feedback, it appears this "scare tactic" is a common practice for them. I want to emphasize that technicians are typically not certified mold inspectors. I sought a second opinion from another company that cleaned my ducts for a fraction of what the initial technician quoted. read more

Terrible company... would not recommend them for service. Following an initial service call in December 2024 to resolve a problem with my hot water heater (which was a good experience) the technician told me of Del-Air's annual maintenance plan which included two air conditioning services, one each whole house plumbing and electrical inspections included in the annual cost. The plan sounded good and I signed up, paying monthly. Since then, service has been non-existent. Despite information contained in Del-Air's online Maintenance Plan description, advertising "one on-demand plumbing and electrical visit" Del-Air does not provide the services. In March 2025 I had an electrical issue and Del-Air said they could not get an electrician to my home for a week; the representatives said their electricians had been working a lot of hours so they were given time off and nobody was available. This caused me to call an independent electrician who arrived the next day and corrected the problem. In late October I scheduled my maintenance plan "included" plumbing and electrical inspections for November 3 and 10 respectively. The Nov 3 inspection was to take place between 10 am and noon; at 11:40 I received a message saying the technician was running late and would not until later in the afternoon. Due to another commitment I had scheduled for that afternoon I canceled the appointment. For the Nov 10 appointment (also between 10 am and noon) I received a message this morning stating the technician was en-route to my home. Less than an hour later I received another message saying the technician was not able to make it and the appointment would be rescheduled. Well guess what, three strikes and you're out. I called Del-Air and canceled my maintenance plan. Despite asking for a "Manager" and being transferred several times I ended up speaking with a dispatch supervisor who really didn't seem empathetic to these repeated issues and gladly honored my request to cancel the maintenance plan. Bottom line, I would not recommend Del-Air for your HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical needs. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I needed a new unit. FIrst, they added on a completely unnecessary $3500 warranty WITHOUT telling me. Second, I have had them come back out 3 x to service it within the first few months. They didnt follow proper code rules. Finally, I am now, a bit over a year later, having issues again. Turns out, SHOCKINGLY, they didn't install something correct and now, I'm out of labor warranty and it will cost another $1400. Absolute criminal organization. After two days of no air, several time inconsistencies, a tech with a no nonsense attitude and left without even making sure our unit was going to work, we finally were able to get someone out to fix our unit. His name is Sergio Cruz. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, took the time to explain everything he was doing and helped us understand how we could help maintain our unit. He was efficient and really was top notch We couldn't be happier with him and we can now relax and not worry about the 89 degree temperature continuing to take a toll on our chronic health issues and our senior dog. This weekend, "Super Jose" and his assistant came to my home to see if they could repair two units that were not working. Apparently, all Del-Air wants to do is sell you a new unit, rather than repair the existing one. They charged me $198 and told me it would cost around $2,500 to fix the upstairs unit, adding that they would contact me on Monday--yet I haven't heard anything. I can only assume that Del-Air does not employ competent staff. Thank you for being unhelpful; I will be contacting other companies. read more

We Paid $13K and Still Can't Count on Our AC -- Infuriating Lack of Accountability We bought a new air conditioning unit from Del-Air just more than a year ago. They told us it was time for a new unit, and we trusted their recommendation. We paid $13,000 for a brand-new system. Since the installation, the unit has failed close to TEN times. That's not a typo. It's been out multiple times in the middle of winter including during the coldest days of the year while we had an infant just a few months old and a toddler. Now, it's happened five times in the last five weeks in the middle of a Florida summer. Again, we're still caring for an infant and a toddler trying to sleep in the heat. Every time it breaks, a technician comes and tells us it's something different. Every time, it stops working again within days. No one at the company seems to know what they're doing. What's worse is that we've called over and over again and cannot get anyone at the management level to call us back. There is zero accountability and no urgency to resolve the situation. We feel taken advantage of. This feels like a scam.. The lack of response from management is beyond frustrating. If you're considering working with this company, I urge you to look elsewhere. Our AC unit, installed just 1 year and 3 months ago by Gator Air (now owned by Del-Air), completely stopped working, and the maintenance plan we pay for turned out to be absolutely worthless. When we called for service, they sent two clueless techs who had no idea why they were even arriving--they thought it was a meet and greet or as I describe it a sales visit to push their useless service plans! After finally taking five minutes to diagnose the issue, they had the nerve to charge us $389 just to unclog a drain--something that should be covered under routine maintenance. Then, instead of just fixing the issue and leaving, they decided to perform an unnecessary full maintenance check, conveniently ignoring the fact that we already had one scheduled soon. This was nothing more than a blatant attempt to justify their outrageous fees and make customers feel like they're getting value when they're actually being scammed. To make matters worse, I called their service department 5-6 times over 30 minutes, and NO ONE even picked up the phone. Why the insane wait times? Why does this company even exist if they refuse to provide actual service? Their so-called "maintenance plans" are a complete ripoff--just a way to squeeze more money out of customers without delivering real service. They then give me 1000.00's of dollars in estimates for various things they want to sell that were not requested. Total scam. If you're even thinking about using Del-Air--DON'T. Moved into a brand new home 9/24. Arrived at the new home and house was warm. Told to contact Del Air. Del Air said they would arrive between 8-10pm. No one showed up or called. We went through this for 4 days. Promised they were coming and no one showed. We unloaded a moving truck full of stuff without any A/C. Our inspector noticed the cement pad the A/C sat on was crooked. Apparently someone broke the freon line to the A/C when fixing the pad. We will never use Del-Air again. I have used Del-Air for about two years. I liked our HVAC technician, Peter. He has always done a good job, and I have always requested him. Del-Air is now in the electrical and plumbing business. During a recent visit for my biannual service checkup, Peter had an electrician with him and told me they now do electrical work, and as part of our service, would do a checkup. I explained an issue with a breaker tripping once every 2-3 months when I use the espresso machine and toaster oven simultaneously. After the electrician spent several hours looking into the issue, he told me I needed new breakers. He called the office and received a quote to replace the electrical breakers. They said replacing them would cost around $1,250 if I approve. I was flabbergasted because this was an outrageous price. I have been in business for over 26 years and know the breakers cost around $50 - $75 at most. I said I would absolutely not approve that charge and to put the breakers back in place. They put the breakers back in, but now they are not staying engaged and trip immediately. He said that they were bad. I told them they were working perfectly fine, except for the occasional tripping when I used two pieces of kitchen equipment that required a heavier load. He continued to work on this, but to no avail. I then discovered that several areas of the house did not have power. They put three "junk" breakers in my box at no charge, but it came with a cost. After they left, I would have lights in my house blink on and off, causing issues. I called the company to explain the problems, but they said, "We tried to fix the issue, but you refused to have the repairs done." After being put on hold two times with the representative going back and forth with another person, she said that she would transfer the call to them, and they could explain. A woman named Beth answered, who said her title was administrator. She could not have been more rude and dogmatic talking to me on the phone. I attempted to explain the real issue, but she was not listening. I asked for another electrician to come out to check the work. She said only one electrician worked for the company on the West Coast of Florida, but she could send the same electrician back out. I told her that it would be a waste of time because this person is the one who caused the issues, and I wanted a qualified person to look at my panel box to see what problem the previous electrician caused. She said she would tell her superiors and get back to me. I patiently waited for over a week and decided to call Beth back. This time, she was friendlier to me and explained that she had told them about the issue and that they were supposed to contact me. She was frustrated that they didn't call me back and said she would let them know I called back. It has been five business days and I am still waiting for a call. read more

They push you to sign their membership that covers only simple maintenance but pray you don't have to pay for real service or parts that they overprice. Examples from our home: for cleaning a plumbing line near the AC with a liquid similar to vinegar that they claimed to be something superior - $345; for replacing the disconnect small metal box that sits outside and had started corroding - $291; for replacing each outdoor compressor for "an extended lifetime" - $900 with 15% off = $765. I refused everything. I will get estimates with another company and kept just the $100 diagnosis. They don't provide receipt for any service or parts. I asked twice by phone later, no answer. UPDATE: 9/17/2024. After a year of service visits, reinstalling equipment, adding insulation and patches and caulk and every other band-aid you can possibly think of, Del-Air management finally agreed to replace the problematic air handler that I've struggled with all this time due to the shoddy workmanship when it was installed in June of 2023. All of the problematic equipment, including the air filter, was changed out and everything works exactly as you'd expect a new system would. For that reason, I am updating my review to reflect the effort that Del-Air ultimately made. It should have never taken this long to get here, so I'm holding back a couple of stars - but I must say that in more recent months, the service level seems to have improved. There are caring people at Del-Air that want to do quality work and ensure the customer is happy. It's unfortunate that this wasn't the case when I bought this system back in 2023. Regardless, if you choose to go with Del-Air for a new HVAC installation, I would caution you to be sure you know exactly what you're buying, what to expect, and if something doesn't pass the sniff test, get a second opinion from another contractor. I am hopeful that one day that won't be the case, but trust has been broken for me - and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it was a struggle to getting to the good place I am in today (and shouldn't have had to fought to get to). read more

I was promised a technician between 4-6p the morning I called. At 6 no one showed and called back again a 3rd time at 8:30 and no response. The next day they finally showed and gave me a ridiculous estimate. I am also a Del air maintenance member and it did not matter. I found a reliable A/C service who is a carrier dealer who charged almost $1,000 less and was prompt with communication and action to assist my situation. Requested a routine maintenance appointment. Nothing was wrong with my AC. A technician came out and told me my AC was bad and my AC stopped cooling. Explained I needed replacement parts. A picture of my AC unit was taken before visit. I told the technician to stop and leave. I had the original company come out and they showed me that some connectors to my unit had been switched. I refereed to the original picture and lo and behold the technician had switched it. They completed my maintenance and said the unit was working g perfectly. read more

Extremely Disappointed - Poor Service and No Accountability I am beyond frustrated with the service I've received today 4/29/25 from Del-Air. I had a technician come out today to repair my A/C unit, and after being charged $307 for the visit, the unit stopped working again within just one hour. I have called multiple times requesting a follow-up, and every time I'm told someone will call me back to schedule another technician - but no one ever does, and no one shows up. This isn't the first time. For over a year now, I've had to deal with repeated breakdowns, and each time they claim to fix the problem, it only lasts a month or two before breaking again. Clearly, their work lacks quality, and their customer service is unreliable and dismissive. I absolutely do NOT recommend Del-Air to anyone. The service is overpriced, unprofessional, and completely untrustworthy. This was to be a maintenance call which turned out to be a sales pitch for a new unit. The guy was 2.5 hours late after the window given for arrival. This unit, a 3.5 ton was working fine when the tech came and quit working after he left with a blown fan which failed after he disconnected the pump outside and the blower ran continuously all night. I tried to reach their office both by e-mail and voice mail several times for the servicing tech to come back and fix what he sabotaged and never got a response back. To make things worse, every quote the tech had given me while he was trying to convince me to spend mre money that the maintenance agreement charge was grossly over priced, every part he recommended I should replace which was still functioning, but according to him all about to break were grossly overpriced as I later found out. For example his price to add some R-22 for the compressor was $2200 which I know runs between $35 to $42 a pound. For a tentative new complete unit from Dell he quoted me over $11K, I have since replaced this unit from an honest dealer for $4,800. I was so impressed by the quality of the other unit he provided, the timeliness of the technicians and the quality of the installation that I also replaced my other aging 2.5 ton unit for $3,800. In other words I had two brand new units installed for a lot less than the one unit he was REALLY PUSHING. I think he thought I was ignorant and gullible with no idea of what these things cost even when I told him I had been a NASA enginner for over 40 yrs. I guess he did not believe this old retired guy and thought he could screww me over, well the joke was on Dell as I will never ever used them or recommend them to anyone, more like I will de-recommend them. They used to be Colman Air and were very reasonable back when but now after Dell Air, a large national chain bought them, I would stay away. read more
