My favorite place to eat! The VIP is my go to drink. The filet is always hot. The creamed spinach is delicious! Overall it was a very pleasant experience, the staff is very friendly, our hostess (very cute blonde hair but don't remember her name ) in particular. Server was as well although a few minor things were incorrect on our order (lobster instead of shrimp), but wasn't a big deal. I must admit that I prefer Fleming's over DF from mostly a taste standpoint. Their potatoes and calamari are definitely better, and that lava cake is sinful. My first experience at Del Frisco's and it was a great opener. First, I love a good steakhouse and I would count Del Frisco's among the best in denver. We were on a fixed price menu, so I only gave it 4 out of 5, because I don't think we got the full experience. We were part of large corporate group, so we were in a back room. I had the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly and the sides were great. The dessert, chocolate mousse, was wonderful as well. Went for restaurant week 2012. We had reservations for 8:30 and were seated by 8:40. Not bad considering the place was completely packed to the brim. I didn't realize how enormous this place was until we got lost trying to find our way out. I definitely prefer the decor and layout of The Capital Grille which feels more intimate. The service was fabulous. Our waitress was attentive, but she didn't hover and I appreciated that. I saw her peek over at our table numerous times, but she never interrupted. She also didn't push the issue of ordering wine or tons of drinks. I started with the Del's salad which was great. It had just the right amount of dressing on it, and it came with a full slice of thickly cut bacon on top. Yes! For my entree I ordered the salmon which had a delicious buttery sauce on it, but it was undercooked for my liking (I either like it sushi raw, or completely cooked). My fiance kept raving about his filet mignon which made me quite jealous that I didn't order it too. I had one bite and it was cooked perfectly. I thought the blue cheese butter he added was a little overwhelming, but he savored every bite. Unfortunately we sat next to "that guy" who insisted on complaining to get a free meal. Really, he complained to his server that his butter wasn't melted enough, and then the manager came to talk to him about the "situation". At first I was embarrassed for his date, but after listening to them talk for awhile I realized she was probably okay with it, and even encouraged it. The ONE thing that really bothered me was they brought me a coke in an 8oz glass bottle, and they charged me $4.00 for it. We have been customers of Del Friscos for 20 years. That may have come to a screeching halt as they have recently been purchased by Landry's and that could easily be the kiss of death unless Landry's steps up quickly and stops making all the "little" changes we experienced a couple of nights ago when our family of 8 went for our annual holiday dinner. I don't believe that all of these "little" things coincidentally happen on our visit. It is my guess that these are the beginning of "adjustments" that Landry has instituted since their purchase last month and to me it is a sign of a downhill slide. In a town with a lot of pretty fabulous steakhouses, that is a HUGE mistake. 1. none of their delicious, signature bread, they had "run out" at 7:30 pm during the holidays. Our waiter scrounged up a couple of small loaves and we're thinking nuked them. Unacceptable. 2. the house salad was smaller and the bacon that historically topped the salad was not the same nor cooked the same. Unacceptable. 3) the presentation of the shrimp cocktail was poor and the amount of cocktail sauce that accompanied it was meager. And while I'm on the subject of cocktail sauce, that has been changed. They have substituted tabasco for a portion of the horseradish. Unacceptable. 4) The lobster bisque was bland. How it has changed, I can't be sure, but it has. 5) My husband ordered the 3 fillets with different toppings and each was a different quality of meat...starting with good and heading down from there. 6) The wine that we order there repeatedly was no longer being carried. 7) The rest of our food was delicious, but not extraordinary to the point that these other "little" things won't nudge us out the door as customers. Now to the leftover packing. 8) No logo on the bags and cheaper quality bags. 9) in the past each leftover was wrapped in aluminum foil to keep it as fresh as possible. Now the sides were in very lightweight plastic containers that promptly began to melt with a 45 sec reheat in the microwave. The steaks had a piece of aluminum laying over it which was clearly to give the illusion of class, but not really. 10) The big bowl of jelly beans that are a tasty treat on a customer's way out no matter how full they are, was almost empty. Is Landrys going to do away those as well, leave a small quantity out so they go through less, or change them to gum drops? Lastly, our waiter had a divided audience at our table. Two people found him entertaining and the rest found him quite irritating. He talked incessently every time he stopped by the table, which was often and became annoying to the point we didn't want to ask or call upon him for anything for fear he would start chatting again and not leave. I would hope that DF would take these "little" things to heart because at Del Frisco's they are "little" parts of a really big picture. If you are a DF fan, go, but be prepared that changes could easily pop up anywhere and maybe not for the better. read more

Came to Del Friscos on a Saturday night for a business function. We had made a reservation ahead of time. When we arrived we were quickly seated at our table of 6. Knowledgeable, friendly waiter who went over the menu with our group. They had a signature Manhattan drink on special that most of the table ordered. We ordered a seafood tower and meatballs as appetizer. Phenomenal appetizers. Seafood tower great for sharing. I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. Sides are amazing, I suggest the au gratin potatoes and the spinach is very good. After a great meal I was introduced to one of the best desserts ever invented, ever. Simply divine. "ButterCake". That's my new word for 2020. And quite possibly the highlight of 2020. ButterCake is all you need to say for dessert. It's one of the best desserts I've ever shoved in my jowls. My wife and I were in Denver, visiting family and visited Del friscos for a nice evening. Her uncle and I enjoyed a couple cigars and drinks in the lounge while she had a drink with her aunt in the bar. We followed that up with a beautiful meal. My wife and I shared the porterhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it and then ordered the dessert. Do not miss the lemon cake! When the bill arrived, the waitress mentioned that they had comp'd our steak due to a small piece of tendon located at the base of the bone. I thought she was joking with me because it did not take away from our experience and i did not even consider complaining. It cost me a bite or two at most. Upon our arrival, the hostess greeted us with an exceedingly disinterested expression, which left us rather perplexed. We proceeded to the bar, which was surprisingly empty for lunchtime. Opting for the Asian crunch salad, we realized that without adding any protein, it felt quite underwhelming and hardly justified the cost. Furthermore, the lobster bisque had an excessive amount of salt. We did express our disappointment to the bartender, who genuinely offered to remove it from our bill, pending approval from the manager. However, we assured him that our intention was not to receive a discount but rather to provide valuable feedback to the management regarding the noticeable decline in both food quality and portion size. The $100 cost for two salads, lobster bisque and tea was not worth the food they gave us. We've Been eating at Del Frisco's for over 20 years, now we live an hour away, so try to get there when we can. I initially left a bad review as my husband and I stopped for dinner late fall. I was surprised when Chris the manager called me and asked us for another chance as he knew that their food and service is usually impeccable. I agreed and we went last weekend. Boy-from the perfectly seasoned and cooked calamari, to the service, to the amazing flavorful steaks, Everything was perfect. With the holidays, it was busy, but things ran like clockwork. Our evening at Del Frisco's in Cherry Creek was one of the WORST (possibly THE worst) dining experiences in my over 40 years in the Foodservice indiustry. From the lackadaisical attitude of the wait staff to the absolutely rude Manager, it was horrible. It took 30 minutes seated outside for our group of 8 to be offered water (more later). Then 30 minutes later a waiter appeared and asked us what we wanted to drink. When we told him we had not seen a drinks menu, and asked for more water, he disappeared for 15 minutes, only to appear with a single drinks menu ("Sorry, but I could only find one of these.") and no water. We are now more than a hour into our visit, with no drinks other than empty water glasses. After everyone ordered drinks, we waited another 30 minhtes for them to arrive, carried by 3 waitstaff - all of whom had no idea of who ordered what, and without one of the drinks that had been ordered. Once that was sorted out, and still no water in site, we were asked what we wanted to eat - WITHOUT any menues being offered. ("Oh, sorry about that, I'll be right back with menues."). STILL NO WATER!!!!! And no missing drink for our unfortunate member. After ordering, and one of our party finally getting his drink, I walked inside and asked for a pitcher of water from one of the hostesses - explaining we had been at the restaurant for over 90 minutes and desparately needed to be hydrated. She dutifly appeared shortly thereafter full of apologies. We then waited for more than 60 minutes for our food to appear - but not before two steaks were mistakenly delivered to out table and quickly whisked away with no explanation. One error followed another - "Sorry for the delay, but your order got lost and was pushed to the back of the queue behind two large groups." "Your food will be hear shortly, sorry." "It will only be a few more minutes, I promise. We are really busy." "I know I told you the food was on its way, I don't know what is going on." Etc, etc. When we asked to speak with the Manager about our now 3+ hour debacle, he appeared 15-20 minhtes later with an absolutely arrogrant, aggressive attitude. "I said I was sorry for the delay. What else do you expect me to do? We are really busy tonight, and we had a malfunction in the kitchen. Everyone has been waiting." End of story. In short- NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. Expensive does NOT equal good! We are just home from a very, very disappointing Mother's Day meal at Del Frisco's. Food for five and six glasses of wine and one beer came to $562,00. If the food had been good, the price would have been fine. The service was friendly but very slow. The calamari appetizer was disappointing but the main dishes were worse. My husband's prime rib was served on a lovely plating but was cold. He sent it back and received an overdone piece of meal on a plate with nothing else. Not too many good things to say about this place. One positive highlight: the steak was definitely on point but other than that the food really wasn't that good. Went on valentines day and still no excuse for bad service or food. - 3:45 PM reservation and still had to wait to be seated. - The bread was a no-show until after we finished our appetizers it finally showed up. There was a delay for everybody around us for getting bread. Not sure how this can happen when we were the first main reservations for dinner service. Really wanted to be able to dip the bread into the lobster bisque but that wasn't happening. - had the oysters for an appetizer it wasn't too bad except for the grit that was in the oyster shells. - Very limited menu if I had known this and it wasn't Valentine's Day I would've walked out. Only two choices for primary carbohydrates and that was mashed potatoes or lobster macaroni and cheese. I was really looking forward to a nice baked potato but that wasn't an option, or rice, or French fries, or sweet potato, etc. vegetable options were also very limited-- what a shame. - The biggest problem the service was extremely slow and limited access to our waitress. - I felt really bad for the tables right next to us. A couple sat down right when we sat down and after we had finished our meal they were still waiting for their dinner. - The biggest excuse given was, "yes we are really busy and trying to work our best". And unfortunately, that's not a good response. Tip for management: other dining restaurants will limit the amount of customers based off supporting customer needs. Don't try to cram as many people into the restaurant knowing that you don't have the service to support the amount of customers. It's not always about getting the most money out of your customers. Recently, in the last month, went to a restaurant (very highly rated restaurant) and we had to wait 40 minutes For a table. And we noticed there were a lot of empty tables And the management explained to us that due to short staffing they didn't want to fill the entire restaurant and wanted to make sure all of the customers had excellent service for their dinner. Great customer oriented model... delfriscos you should look into this type of business practice. Knowing that you don't have the staff to provide good service, then reduce the amount of tables available--simple and common sense. Biggest waste of money that I will not be getting back and of course delfriscos is not the cheapest place to eat. Again, another amazing dinner! I don't usually write the double 5 star reviews but when you consistently get 5 star service and quality, it's hard not to! This time we had Andrew as our server...to say the least, we had such a fabulous and memorable time! He was on point in helping us pick the perfect bottle of wine and he certainly educated us on cheeses that can be paired with wine. Very friendly, accommodating, answered all of our stupid questions AND when we declined the free dessert 'on her', she gave my husband BIRTHDAY BACON! lol! She overheard us talk about how we loved the huge strips of bacon on top of the Del's salad I got, so she decided to give him that (6 pcs). :) If you like steak, get it here.. we had the Filet Mignon and a special with 3 small Filets that had different toppings on them (I think one was scallops, another was crab and the 3rd was mushrooms). Yum! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we both enjoyed our meal. He got the bone-in ribeye and I got the salmon so we can share. To be honest, I ordered the salmon to even it out and not to get too much meat but I regret my decision. Don' t get me wrong the salmon was also delicious, but I like meat better in general. I use to go to the Chicago location years ago before it closed. We flew into Denver specifically to come to this restaurant and for the lemon cake. The server was very nice but needs a little bit of training on the menu. We were asking about the Double Eagle Table Tasting. She didn't give us correct info so we ordered just off the menu and not the tasting. She did still bring us 2 appetizers. We accepted the additional appetizer. We received our steaks that was undercooked. We did make mention but decided not to send back. In my experience they always come back overcooked. We both took about 2 bites and pushed aside. At dinner our waiter never even introduced the menu. He just asked us if we were ready to order. Really? Is this Denny's? We had to ask three times for bread, and they forgot to bring the shrimp cocktail. Nobody asked us how our meals were. It was bad enough we may not come back. We were overdressed, too. However, because we were gifted a Gift Card, we humored the "gift giver", by patronizing his favorite restaurant in Denver. Boy o' boy, were we disappointed. First off, we were crammed into a half booth. A half booth!! Not only was I able to hear the entire conversation of the couple next to me (the recent deposit into their bank account, the price of the cruise they are going on, etc...), I was able to hear the critique of their meal and what they thought of food items I did not order. To continue with my story, our waitress was completely air headed. I explained I am allergic to gluten and how I cannot have it. I asked if there was anything I should stay away from other than the obvious. She wasn't sure but did offer the kitchen to make me some GF bread to replace the big buttery mound of bread she just placed on my table. I was pleased to hear their was a GF option so I went ahead and accepted her offer. Apparently, Del Frisco's does not own a serrated knife. This waitress brought out a mini loaf of bread that was obviously cut with a butter knife because this loaf was flat as a pancake and broken all apart. Not appealing at all. The crust was crunchy, the bread was dry, and the waitress...obviously new? Maybe? Ordered salads: a wedge, which was not ripe and buttermilk dressing--watered down; and a Cesar, which again had watered down dressing. My steak was cooked perfectly but the meat needed salt. My husband's ribeye was more fat than steak, but cooked perfectly, and again needing salt. The mashed potatoes were really bland as well as my husband's half order of lobster Mac and Cheese. We decided against a dessert since nothing else was very good. Long story short, I would not waste my money. Food is average at best and not worth the prices they charge. Last note, the dress code is not enforced. We walked in with dress pants, heels/dress shoes, a nice dinner jacket, and blouse for me. First off, right when you walk through the doors, you get a sense of warmth, where the lights dimmed, the white sheets just pop from the tables like your having candlelit dinner and you've been craving a really amazing steak. That's what you can expect from Del Frisco's! My wife and I started the night with a bottle of Stolpman's wine and Shanghai Calamari. The texture of the calamari was amazing and depending your level of sweetness it's great. My wife ordered a filet and I order a Prime Rib. As I cut into the steak you could see the light pink center and how well the steak was cooked. The steak literally melted like butter as the flavor just explodes in your mouth. If your craving for a high quality steak, I would highly recommend coming here! If your not completely full from the appetizer and steak and still are craving for a dessert, I would definitely go with the Warm Banana Bread Pudding! The soft, warm chewiness of the bread and the sweetness of the Carmel tantalizing your mouth. So good! read more

My wife and I celebrated getting married here and the night was phenomenal. We ordered the filet trio special, the dry aged prime rib, with au gratin potatoes and a MOUNTAIN of onion rings. We aren't drinkers so having individually crafted mocktails was a beautiful experience. The steaks were prepared perfectly, and the dry aged prime rib was seasoned to a tee. The service was definitely fabulous and our waiter was friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. I was here for a business dinner and after a week of heavy eating, I wanted something a bit lighter. I tend to eat more plant based as a whole so I ordered the cauliflower steak and creamed spinach. A vegetarian in our group ordered the same. I really appreciate when non veggie restaurants offer substantial veggie entrees. I'm a big fan of cauliflower steaks and have eaten a number of them. This one was a miss for me. There was no rub, sear or char-grill on the cauliflower. There wasn't any real glaze or flavor to it either. It did have a nice topping of farro and mushrooms, but the "steak" itself was pretty underwhelming. It tasted as though it were steamed or boiled and then just topped with the farro. After hearing rave reviews from so many people, I was excited to try this place! Especially since my boss was treating me for a Christmas lunch! His food seemed to be delicious, but my strip steak was the saltiest tasting steak I've ever had. The inside of it was delicious, but the rub (or seasoning?) was awful. I was definitely disappointed. Normally, I would say something... but my boss is a frequent customer. Also, if it were the wrong temperature, I would have said something (since they actually stayed and asked me to check if it was right - which was great!) but unsure they could correct the rub, especially if it's prepped that way. I would be open to trying it again since I've heard so many wonderful things, but maybe just not the strip this time! read more

While Del Frisco's might not seem like the obvious choice for takeout, it does work. The process was easy and the curb side delivery efficient. As my fourth installment of the Covid 19 cuisine , I can recommend the restaurant , but I would rather eat inside- it's worth it for the experience.The blue cheese wedge is a classic, and it's just what you would expect. My wife enjoyed the sea bass entree with the black bean garlic sauce- the fish was good however the sauce was too salty. We went here for my moms birthday and had a great time! The waiter was excellent and knew exactly how each dish was made, how it tasted, and could recommend what others liked and why. The seafood was the best seafood we have been able to find in Colorado (we tried both crab and lobster). The steak was also on point, as to be expected. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We had a large group of 14, reservation was for 7:30 it is now 10:30 and we are still waiting to pay our bill. Our food didn't didn't come out together some got their steak and didn't get sides until another 20 to 30 minutes later. I expected so much more from such a high end establishment. When it was all said and done they gave us desert. I would not come back. read more
