It's time to update my review here. Especially since the changes in management have occurred nearly two years ago and the menu has been updated. This restaurant is now run by Giselle Cuevas (granddaughter of original owners) and her partner Victor Camargo. They bring a fresh updated menu and experience here at the restaurant. With an added addition of a beautiful coffee espresso machine. Locals like me know of this hidden gem, but others may not. It's the type of restaurant you seek if visiting from out of town. A true mom and pop type restaurant, that's not touristy but one that serves it's purpose. I've been coming here for years now, mainly on my lunch break with co-workers. The exterior doesn't look like much, but once you step inside you are hit with walls of beautiful art and ceramics from Mexico. There's plenty of seating and the restaurant itself is spacious. The food is authentic and made with high quality ingredients. I especially love how the serving presentation has been upgraded. It's the little things that make a plate of food look more appealing. Plus the portions are pretty generous. My go-to here is usually the mole enchiladas or two item combo of a chicken taco and enchilada. I always leave with leftovers because the portions are more than generous. Either way, you'll leave here well fed! Overall, this restaurant may be off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth checking out and supporting a local business.

Yes. Food quality was excellent. The meat was scrumptious and the salsa was the perfect amount of flavor and spice. I ADORED the interior decor, very much paying homage to indigenous land & Mexican culture. 1000x recxomend for an authentic & delicious experience - great service too

I've visited twice now under the new ownership (local couple) and this place is a HIT! My favorite dish so far is the Mexi-bowl. I love that they use grilled veggies instead of fresh veggies. And the grilled chicken was phenomenal and substantial! Service was fabulous and we even saw local celebs Paula Lopez and Judge Ochoa enjoying a lovely dinner there.

A gem! This is the most fun place. Go for the art, the ambiance, and of course, the food and drink. It's always been good and I've always had excellent service here. Oh, all this colorful vibrant art...everwhere!

Menudo was delicious. All old reviews are previous owner. Give it a taste. The soup was flavorful. Only big bowls now. Great for a Sunday morning.

I haven't come to Del Pueblo since I moved to another part of town I don't get here as often. Had a great meal last night. All food was fresh and delicious. Customer service was great. The Chile Negro is my favorite. Was perfect. Always enjoy coming here. Also, try the Mexican Mocha if you like Mexican Chocolate. Reminds me of my childhood. Soooo good!

Los Agaves On De Lavina St. -- A Rare Review from Someone Who Hates Writing Reviews…read moreI spent 25 years owning a business. I know what good service looks like, and I know what entitled looks like. I never write reviews -- I watched Yelp destroy good people over bad nights, and I swore I'd stay out of it. Tonight changed that. I sat at the bar. It took the bartender over five minutes to acknowledge I existed. Another five to ten to deliver a Coke. I ordered dinner and waited forty minutes -- which I might have forgiven, except getting his attention was nearly impossible the entire night. No eye contact. Body language that made clear I was an inconvenience, not a guest. Every interaction felt like I was interrupting something more important. When I finally got him to check on my order, he went to the computer and discovered he'd never placed it. I walked out. I noticed the people around me weren't faring much better. The slowness wasn't just my experience -- it was the room. Los Agaves appears to be a popular place, and maybe on another night with another bartender it earns that reputation. But entitlement has a way of spreading when nobody checks it. I hope management is paying attention -- because a beautiful restaurant dies one invisible guest at a time.

Back to table service! Yay!!!…read more Attractive and very clean restaurant with great service. Truly delicious Mexican food. I love pozole - Cc's rendition is top notch and comes with all the extras to put in the soup including avocado, chopped onion, a whole fried tortilla to break up into the broth and Mexican oregano (the small is more than enough for one hungry person or to share with two).Homemade chips come with a four salsa selection ranging substantially hot to a delicate tomatillo green. I tried my tablemate's tacos, all three varieties were very very good. I've had takeout from here, but it's really worth going in person because the food is nuanced and best when piping hot as it's made.

Tourist trap, wouldn't come back …read more.. Location/Parking: located in a food hall with a bunch of other places to eat. I think there is a parking lot, but I ended up doing street parking about a three minute walk away since I couldn't find parking nearby. Service: workers were nice and friendly! Vibes: loud and busy since there are so many other establishments nearby. There are a lot of seats, so that shouldn't be too big of an issue. Food: I ordered the Sayulita Ceviche and my boyfriend got the El Cali burrito, but neither of us were impressed with our food. The ceviche was incredibly spicy (not surprised because of the habanero), but that was the only big flavor that I tasted. There wasn't enough acidity or freshness to the dish that I expect from ceviche. It was just very bland/spicy... The burrito was decent enough, but not for the price that we paid.

There was a line of people waiting. Took us a little over 30 minutes from getting in line, to ordering and receiving the food later. CASH ONLY. Their specials menu seems to change every day or so. We ordered a taco de hongo (sautéed mushrooms with epazote in a light cream sauce w/ 2 homemade corn tortillas), enchiladas de plaza (chicken breast, potato mushroom, red chile sauce, topped with cheese, chile pasilla strips, cream sauce, avocado and radish), a tamal norteño de puerco (pork tamal), #16 súper-rica especial (pork on 3 tortillas, a modelo, and a piña pepino agua fresca. All for around $63 without tip. They had a tomato salsa, salsa rojo, and salsa verde options. All were delicious. All of the food was excellent and super flavorful. I would say my favorite was definitely the tamal. So savory and the masa was the perfect texture. The pork tacos and mushroom taco were close behind, also delicious. The enchiladas were my least favorite. Still good but I just don't think I can be an enchiladas fan no matter how hard I try!! I just am not a fan of the texture of the tortillas when sauced up. Nevertheless, everything was finished up and nothing left behind. The agua fresca was also super good and refreshing. Very sweet and a little thick so we thinned it out a bit with some water. They have limited outdoor seating but a lot inside. A single bathroom right by the parking lot entrance. Nice and cute spot with hard workers. Would definitely come again!
