I am ashamed to admit I could review most Del Tacos in the greater Santa Ana Canyon area, however, this one - the one I grew up with - still stands out from the crowd for many reasons: 1) The food is prepared better here than at most Del Tacos 2) The owner - Geof - aside from having a weird aberration of my name, is a super nice guy, and actually knows his customers. He treats them all like family. I've never seen a fast food franchise with such a local feel. I can't emphasize that enough. They even offer quasi-table service, and Geof does the rounds, making sure everyone is happy. 3) Keeping with that local feel, this Del Taco actually has special menu combos unique to its store. They just make them because they can! 4) Copies of the newspaper for your reading pleasure Aside from that, the menu is like any Del Taco. I prefer this Del Taco over all others. It gets crowded, though, and its devotees are quite loyal. I encourage all Del Taco lovers to take a pilgrimage to this one on the Fullerton/Placentia border (literally - the edge of the parking lot is in Placentia). read more

When I first moved down here I could not believe the line for taco Tuesday's at this location! It's busy but you can't beat the deals. I know that chain restaurants usually have consistent food & service and I've found that to be true for this location as well. They recently added some new 'ensaladas' that are under 600 calories and look great! I can't wait to try those. I'm actually mad at Del Taco because my all time favorite item is the carnitas tacos and they only offer those seasonally (late summer I think?). They are surprisingly tasty though, the carnitas tacos al carbon especially. I check my order before I drive away because of the high volume, mistakes happen sometimes. Ordered my food at the drive thru passed midnight. I ordered 2 chicken street tacos, spicy jack quesadilla, and 2 turkey tacos. When I arrived home, the only thing correct were my turkey tacos. I called in and the employee went over my order 3 times just to make sure I recieved the right order by the time I arrive. When I got there, they forgot my chicken street tacos. I've been coming to this Del Taco for over 10 years and it is by far the best Del Taco I've ever been to. It is always clean and the service is great. The food of course is the best fast food Mexican and American food in Orange County. Great tacos, burgers, fries and breakfast all day. They even give out coupons on a regular basis. But you don't need a coupon to get a great meal at a reasonable price. They have the best Chicken Soft Taco on the planet. And both the regular cheeseburger and Del cheeseburger are absolute cheeseburger perfection. Very good fries as well. This Del Taco is by my boyfriends house so I've been going to them for about 2 years now. Their service is pretty damn good. The owners are fucking cool too. Used to order bean and cheese burritos sans the cheese which they sometimes had trouble with, probably because they use cheese on everything, making it a little hard to break the routine. Recently I have been coming here on drunk nights for french fries with their red and green sauce on them. Apparently no one else in this area ever orders this because the drive thru people around 12am-2am already know its me and know what to do. Love this. Whenever the drive-through window goes on the fritz, an employee wearing a permanent fuchi face stands outside and takes your order -- but never before he angrily upsells you twice. Twice! With attitude so pungent that you could smell it five miles away! At the end of one such order, I politely and professionally mentioned to this guy that he was "really rude" with his order taking. "I'm just doing my job!" he replied, nearly yelling. (It didn't help him much to be wearing a uniform shirt covered in grease and grime.) Customer service, much? The fare's OK -- on a good day. About four years ago I had a not-so-nice experience at this Del Taco. I wrote an essay about my experience on the customer feedback website that they print on every receipt. Explaining everything that was wrong with this store. I made a vow that day. I promised I would never come back. Then, around January 2013, my empty stomach managed to convince me to give them a try, once more. The angry window guys that didn't smile or speak have been replaced with smiling, helpful and genuinely friendly people. The food seems to have improved, too. The lettuce and tomatoes are fresh. Salsa is fresh. My favorite items are the bean burritos, nacho salad with beef, strawberry lemonade, cheesecake bites and churros. Strawberry lemonade has real strawberries, by the way. Great on a hot day! The interior of this restaurant is pleasant, as well. Clean and cozy. Good service, atmosphere and prices. read more

This is my favorite Del Taco in the Northern OC area. WHY? The french fries are always hot n fresh no matter what time of day i get them. 5 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 7 o'clock...etc...etc.. The service is what makes this Del Taco special too. Drive Thru ppl are very nice and speedy. The food always come out legit here (especially compared to the del taco off chapman/state college), and for the price, I wouldn't expect anything better or worse. So we went to Taco Tuesday with the kids...cheap and easy way to spend some QUALITY family time. LOL! It's Del Taco. What do you want, right? Nothing great, however, at THIS location on THIS Tuesday night, I DO have to state an observation. I assume because it's cheap, that it's a draw for senior citizens. And not just a couple. The place was ABSOLUTELY PACKED with seniors. It was cool in one way, because they all knew each other and apparently this was some sort of tradition or whatever that we had happened upon. It was sort of homey feeling to have all these old folks talking and shuffling around. Anyway--it was a nice time, and the crew at Del Taco was very ready for the Taco Tuesday rush. Got our food fast, and I could tell everyone in the restaurant was happy. Special kudos to the woman that was working the dining room. She was actually clearing trays away and taking time to talk to some of the regulars. She was even giving out hugs. Sort of cool. read more

On taco Tuesdays some del tacos rush through making them and skimp on the meat or cheese, this place doesn't do that. Workers routinely offer to take my tray and trash for me.
