I'm NY born and raised walking into this place felt a little intimidating for some reason and that was surprising to me. Staff is not super social in their demeanor and I think it's just a personality or maybe even a shtick. The sandwich I ordered with some exclusions was made right didn't dissapoint and it was all gobbled up by my hungry family. We had ordered the largest capicola with provolone which came with a pickle as others said. This is definitely the type of food best eaten right away so all the toppings do not mess up the bread. I could tell the family running this deli puts a lot of energy into their business. I definitely didn't think they were cutting corners as it all seemed fresh to us. Reluctantly, I'm writing this review despite seeing the boards of poor reviews on this yelp page. We were in breck and were hoping to go to our favorite sandwich shop, doogans deli, which was unfortunately closed for the day. Rather than giving business to a chain sandwich shop, we decided to give Deli Belly a shot during these tough times, as we like to support local small businesses. Upon arrival, we were rudely greeted with "we close in 15minutes, you can't order any hot sandwiches, what do you want". We were pretty appalled, but decided we wanted sandwiches enough we would stick around. During our time waiting, we saw the woman cashier rudely turn away numerous other customers. Pros: 30-50% cheaper than most other places in Frisco. However, you definitely get what you pay for. Cons: Let's start with the setup of the restaurant and the service. There is a window facing the sidewalk that was open, and, seeing as most restaurants (particularly those with small interiors, like Deli Bellys) are limiting the people indoors, my partner and I assumed we could order at the window. There was no one else inside or outside the restaurant trying to order at this time, and yet the woman working the register and the guy cooking ignored us (I am assuming they are the owners, and have been mentioned in these reviews numerous times). When my partner asked if she could order at the window, the man just motioned aggressively and said "come inside". Note that there was absolutely no signage outside indicating that a customer had to come in to order. We went inside and I quickly saw there was no card machine (again, there is no signage that this place is cash only), so I politely asked if they took card. The woman sighed, rolled her eyes, and said "Nope. There's an ATM" and pointed behind me. This is such an odd thing to experience nowadays, especially in a tourist town, and especially during COVID, when most places are pushing you to use a card because it is easier to sanitize than cash, but whatever. I was more taken aback by her attitude; she literally could not muster a smile or more than 2 words to confirm our order the entire time we were there, yet she was perfectly capable of being upbeat and chipper with the older man behind us in line, who she clearly knew and liked. It continues to baffle me what justifies a server, let alone an owner, acting like this when you are being faced with a polite and friendly customer. Now let's move to the food. In a word: gross. The bread was clearly store bought and potentially frozen prior to serving (it had that taste), there was barely any mayo on the BLT, the lettuce was finely shredded iceberg which just made a giant mess, and the bacon was limp, soggy, and cold. The entire sandwich was poorly constructed so it fell apart as soon as I unwrapped it, and it will never cease to irritate me that the ingredients weren't spread out to make each bite even. The sandwich was also wrapped up with a pickle in thin wax paper and put in a paper bag, which meant the juices from the pickle immediately soaked through the bag and made it a mess to bring back home. Overall, a pathetic attempt at a simple sandwich, and the owners clearly don't care about the numerous reviews pointing to their bad attitudes and treatment of customers. I will not be back. I suggest you visit Bread+Salt which is just down the street and has exponentially superior service and food. read more

The menu is nice though, they have several options between their sandwiches and a few soups. My experience here turned south the second I approached the counter. We love this place. It's small, inexpensive, accepts only cash but so dang good and easy. You basically walk into a place smaller than a lot of closets nowadays. The older dude at the counter is just no nonsense east coast type of dude. Not rude at all just to the point. "What'll ya get?" Kind of guy. We ordered the frito pie and the American Hot Dog with kraut instead of ketchup. The frito pie came with a mountain of cheese and great tasting no bean chili. The dog was a typical dog. Nothing special but the kraut, spicy mustard, and relish were top notch items. Not you cheap ass Heinz relish. For the mountains it's about the cheapest lunch you'll get. And it's totally worth it. What a disappointment. I really don't know what the food was like because I never got that far. He seemed unpleasantly irritated, and impatient with us, judging by the sound of his tut tutting, and deep sighs, similar to a toddler waiting for his turn to try the toy. When I asked about a sandwich's contents, he would say "look at the board"! as he pointed, pen in hand and eye-balled me sharply. I kindly told him that I would like him to verbally list the contents (I have poor eye sight) but he rudely insisted that I read the board above him. I then said "just give it to me with everything on it, please". He then said "what do you mean, 'everything on it', you have to read the board and tell me what you want on it"! I began to inch in closer to this man, outwardly appearing to lose my temper (according to my wife) and my wife pulled on my arm, queing me to leave and find food elsewhere. As we turned to leave, I heard the clerks last words to us "f***ing f***ers". Once again my wife intervened, pulling me away from the insult I wished to confront. We left and I was livid. An unfinished scuffle with this human being which left my teeth gritting, head boiling and fists itching to give him some lickins'. Maybe it was just the guy, maybe he was having a bad day. Simply put the best "Grinders" in Summit County hands down!! I'm from CT where the Grinder was invented and it's spot on. This husband and wife couple from Boston & Syracuse are putting out some of the best Deli style food anywhere that's for sure. I went for lunch both days I was in Frisco. I ordered both the Ham & Swiss Grinder with everything and the Famous Grilled Ruben the next day. Eating those grinders and Sandwiches made me feel like I was in a deli back in CT! We tried to be upbeat and friendly and even make a joke, but she was also super unfriendly. She was not having it. After we ordered, we asked if they took card. Again, COVID and the fact that most places are discouraging cash. The lady just said no and pointed to the ATM behind her. We felt like she didn't want us in there or asking any questions, as if we were an imposition she didn't want to deal with. Now, I'm from colorado and live here, so that "you're intruding in our town" attitude is something I'm not here for. Not to mention that treating any customer who is giving you business badly because you don't like tourists blah blah blah is a stupid business practice. Get over yourself. People have chosen your restaurant from all the places they could have gone, so treat them like you value them. We were in Frisco last weekend and heading out the highway, we asked our guests, "hey, any suggestions on where to get some sandwiches for the trip back to Denver?" - Deli Belly's. We grabbed some chicken salad, tuna salad and stuff for the kids - and all loved it. They have a good variety of deli meats and stuff to put on them and are generous with the shredded lettuce! They also have a bunch of breads, but go for a baguette - nice way to down one of these puppies! If you're ever in Frisco and in the mood for something that tastes like real deli - give them a try.
