Tell them what you want and they keep piling it on your plate or to go container. Expect a line to get in to order and eat. Recently I've had the strongest cravings for dumplings and steamed buns, apparently I'm in just the right place to get my fix. But, as always, there's a caveat. After a brief Yelp search, I came across this place which had been reviewed by none other than my very own Yelp Community manager (hi, Kimi!). That made it an easy choice. I walked the mile or so from my office, through the steep and busy streets of downtown, until I found little place, tucked on a small street in Chinatown. As I waited to place my order, I noticed that the menu was a lot smaller then the picture I saw on Yelp. Namely, there were a few vegetable buns that were no longer on the menu. As I place my order for shrimp dumplings, flea market to the woman behind the counter that there are so many things on the menu I want to try but I can't because I don't eat pork. She informed almost everything on the menu contains pork. Even the shrimp dumplings. What?! How?! I felt so betrayed. Finally, I told her to just give me an order of everything that did not contain pork. I ended up with an order of beef shumai, lotus seed paste buns, Sesame balls, and spring rolls. Not sure if she was being genuine or try to be funny, but after she filled my order, the lady behind the counter gave me a business card for a nearby vegetarian Chinese restaurant. *shrug* I'll take it. The food was all very good. The beef shumai was the largest I've ever seen; bursting at the seams with delicious, well-seasoned beef. The sesame balls were full of yummy red bean paste (my fave!). The spring rolls were crispy and delicious, and the cabbage inside still had a nice crunch to it. And while I was really hoping to feast on an order of savory steamed buns, the lotus seed paste bun was a sweet consolation. So it's covid and we can't really eat in, but my uncle and aunt haven't gone out and told us they wanted Chinese food so we were happy to oblige. Driving down Stockton and taking a left down the hill on Jackson, you see this friendly little store named Delicious Dim Sum. Nothing fancy, but just really well put together Dim Sum. Wrappers were great, nothing was soggy, and the prices are super cheap!! Can't complain about that. My wife doesn't speak chinese (she's thai) but they were really friendly and pointed out their favorites. My aunt and uncle do have dietary restrictions so we went with more vegetables in our dumplings. And then we added on some har gau (shrimp dim sum), and pan fried chives dumplings with pork. All together we have 12 orders (3 pieces each) for around 30 dollars. We split it up and gave 2/3rds to our aunt and uncle and they enjoyed it immensely. read more

Shrimp dumplings or ha gows are my favorite dim sum item. I had very good to excellent ones while dining in dim sum restaurants and have been searching for good dumplings sold at take-away dim dum/bakeries. Having tried several of over a dozen places in SF Chinatown and the ones in Oakland, the take-away places are reasonable in price but the quality doesn't match up to the dim sum restaurants, where the dumpling skins are thin with a good portion of tasty filling. A friend recommended I give Delicious Dim Sum a try. It's a small shop with pictures of 35 items posted on its menu board. But I was here for ha gow and I ordered six. The dumpling skins were on the thin side but the filling was on the light side and bland as I felt it needed more seasoning. Glad that I have now tried the shrimp dumplings here, but it doesn't quite match up to the top ones on my list. I will continue on my quest in finding good take out ha gow. read more

We went there on Saturday noon, we got really lucky since there were no line and we also even got seat(there was only a small table in the entire place which can fit 4 ppl.) right after we sat down the line got super long. They lists dim sum in term of 3 pcs, but just tell her if u only want one, they r usually willing to divide the cost to just let u try. I got so much food and only spent 10 dollars, I literally couldn't finish half. I highly recommend the shumai and the shrimp dumpling, and I DO NOT recommend the bbq pork bun and the radish cake. This place is a hidden gem and my go-to spot for dim sum to go! I don't think it's worth waiting in line on Stockton Street for that other, better-known dim sum to-go spot when this place is about half a block away with food that is probably on-par. Best is when I happen to get there when they just bring up a new tray of shrimp dumplings. The two ladies that work there are quick and efficient, and quite generous with my not-very-good Cantonese. I also love the savory fried dumpling and the egg custard buns and the shrimp rice rolls. We get so much food at such great value-- it ends up being less than $10 per person. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of spot, and a little dingy but I think that's most places in Chinatown. I've always found the food to be super fresh and delicious and perfectly greasy. read more

This place is yum yum yum! You get great dim sum, without the long wait lines for tables. Everything is SUPER fresh here, they make it in big batches, and the good stuff always disappears first. Prices have increased where I'm a little more hesitant to buy whatever I want, but it's still one of the better quality dim sum for the price. My favorites here are the shrimp dumplings, cilantro shrimp dumplings, and chive and shrimp dumplings (yes, I love my shrimp). Their shu mai and rice noodle rolls are decent too. They're open during this pandemic, so please wear masks when you visit so we can keep them open! read more
