Came in about an hour and a half before closing on a Saturday and there were still plenty of dim sum left. The counter lady seemed a bit impatient with us, but she easily handled our 4-person order with ease. She was able to tell us what items were sold out and suggested good replacements. Each order was 3 pieces - about a dollar or so each dumpling. It's a small place with a long counter so be warned - there's a park walking distance that you can eat at. It's mainly a pick up place and they prefer cash. In Chinatown, it's in the middle of bustling alley ways and across the street from the fortune cookie company. My wife and I wanted some Dim Sum, so through recommendations we came to Delicious Dim Sum for some. The store is not big, it is a small take out joint with no place to sit inside. There's a ton of dim sum spots in Chinatown, so if you're here for the first time - it can be hard to figure out where to go. When in doubt, look for the crowds. Since I was visiting Chinatown for the first time, I relied on Yelp and crowd size to gauge whether to eat somewhere or not. This place had great reviews... and a 30 minute long wait. I was already tired walking around from all the hills that didn't show up on Google Maps, so figured I'd rest a bit while waiting in this slow moving line. The wait was worth it. Not only is the dim sum fresh (there were steamed trays of dumplings that came out while I was getting close to the front of the line), but the prices were very competitive (3 pieces of pork shu mai for $3.50 for example), and the quality was great. The rice rolls were thick (which I love), fresh, and had a good rice roll to filling ratio. I made out with an entire tray full of different dim sum favorites (pork shu mai, shrimp & chive dumplings, beef rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls) for less than $20. Wish they included another container of soy sauce though. I already had giant egg tarts left over from Stockton Bakery in my bag, so didn't pick up any dessert items here. There is one table for indoor seating - and a few chairs. This is mostly a takeout place, so no issues there. If you do end up eating here anyway, expect it to be loud. What was frustrating though - through no fault of the restaurant - was that the line wasn't slow because service was slow - it was slow because of all the time people took to order and decide what to get, even after waiting in line for 30+ minutes. Like maybe look at the menu when you get closer to the front, see what food is left (because they do sell out as you get through the day), so you don't hold up the rest of us by the time its your turn to order. The main lady here isn't rude, she's just business oriented - time is money. She was nice to me because I knew exactly what I wanted, and when one of the items I wanted was out, I quickly decided on a suitable alternate. I also checked some of the low rated reviews here and it's about their overcharging and miscalculation. My friend got shrimp dumplings and pan fried shrimp and chives. The wrapper of the shrimp dumplings was thick and tough. Shrimp inside seems fresh. The one with chives tasted the same. It was priced $3 and $3.40 on the menu. It was late when we found out that my friend was charged $7.49 for two sets of dim sum. Like last time, no bag, utensils and sauces provided.
