After a fundraiser event that had me climbing 52 floors at 555 California, I thought I'd reward myself with something carby and delicious and decadent. I didn't quite know what but when you're with two Chinese girls and Chinatown a couple blocks away, dim sum was a no-brainer. While we were in line at Golden Gate Bakery for egg tarts, we were also craving siu mai and har gow. So friend #1 called her mom, friend #2 called her other Chinese friend and both independently recommended DDS. DDS takes credit cards, short line out front and had five girls standing outside eating shrimp and chive dumplings with big smiles on their faces--it all bode well. 45$ later, I scored 6 of each: pork siu mai, bbq pork buns, shrimp and cilantro dumplings, fried shrimp and chive dumplings, pork dumplings, pot stickers. Solid inexpensive place for dim sum. I like that it's cash-only but they do take credit cards if you spend more than $10. I didn't expect a line from reading Yelp reviews, but there was one when I went around 11am on a Sunday afternoon during COVID times. Loved the beef shiu mai and taro cake. The only disappointment was the char siu bao which was very bread-y and seemed to lack much char siu--I took so many bites to get to the meat and then there wasn't much of it. My boyfriend and I were in the city for a reservation, but arrived about an hour early. Both of us were hungry and this spot came up on Google, so we decided to check it out. It was perfect for what we wanted. We had the shumai, shrimp rice noodle, Shanghai dumplings and the pork and shrimp dumpling. Everything was really good and we only paid $14 between the two of us with leftovers! My favorite was the shumai and he liked the Shanghai dumplings. Definitely coming back here again. Incredible dim sum at incredible prices! The line moves very quickly and the ladies behind the counter are pretty friendly. My sister and I got turnip cake, shrimp dumplings, and steamed bbq pork buns, despite not being hungry at all. All three are incredible- the filling to wrapper ratio on both the pork buns and dumplings is wonderful. Everything reheated well in the microwave. waited in a short line that went by pretty fast but i would have to say the stars being deducted was something i should've pointed out in the beginning when i thought something was off. we got 2 orders of sesame balls, 1 order of egg custard buns, 1 order of ha gow and 1 order of shu mai. all of these orders were 2.60$ for 3 pc. i did the math after two hours bc quite frankly was in a rush to get everything done in chinatown with the two hour free parking at Portsmouth Square Garage, that i didn't notice that she overcharged us. the total should've been roughly $13 and even if she had charged us for the to go to containers and bag, there is NO way it should've been $20.62. not sure how she got this number. she lady was sort of rude but it's whatever. they also didn't have bbq pork buns which i also didn't mind. it's just despite the food being good, can't shake off the fact that she charged us $7 more than what it should've been. will most likely be going elsewhere for dim sum now. read more

They list $3.80 each, on their menu board, but they are literally the only one that charge tax on it out of the ten+ we visited to compare. $4.12 after tax. We bought lots from each place that was $4 or less to try, if we were aware, we would have bought a lot less and only gotten enough to cut open to share instead of one per person. Not only did they charge tax, it was cold when they gave it to us, so I'm not sure they're supposed to be able to charge tax on to go cold food that is best be eaten hot. Their Zongzi is about 12oz each, has fatty pork, egg and Chinese sausage. Alot of places don't have the sausage. Still, I would not recommend. There are cheaper, tastier ones and the cheapest ones on Stockton, and the largest ones are next door also cheaper. read more

This is like my contingency dim sum place when MongKok is super busy, honestly sometimes I even come here over Mongkok because it's much more convenient to find parking and get in and out within a few minutes. The staff here is very kind and works fast! Their dim sum menu is quite large and you can get pretty much everything you'll see at a dim sum restaurant. They have the standard dumplings, baos and rice rolls up front and ready to place into your to-go box. If you are requesting special items, it may take a moment as it's prepared fresh from the kitchen. I've been here countless of times and their dim sum is always on point. My only complaint is their rice rolls, it's hit or miss, some days it's a bit oily and I'm not into that. I took away one star because it says that they take card or square, but not always - it really depends if the owner is around because she is the one who knows how to use their app and tablet. I walked past by this dim sum place so many times in the past but never walked in, but today it changed - I decided to give this place a try since some people raved about their shrimp dumplings/har gow on Yelp. The shop wasn't too busy when I was there, there were only two customers inside the shop, so I decided to wait outside till they were done before I entered. The lady who helped me worked pretty quickly. She seemed like a no-nonsense type of lady - she didn't really greet you, she didn't really smile, she was there only to take your order, take your money and give you your food. She was there to be efficient, not to give you a friendly customer service - and strangely I don't mind that with this place. I ordered 3 orders of pork siu may, 1 order of har gow, and 1 order of chive shrimp dumplings. I actually wanted to get lo mai kai (sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves) as well but they ran out today :( oh wells. Each order was about $2.50 roughly, so my total was $12.71. Not bad.... Har gow - pretty good and generous shrimp filling. The filling also had a good flavor. But I thought the skin was a bit too thick and chewy for me especially at the end where they sealed the dumplings. Chive and Shrimp Dumplings - the skin on this one was somehow thinner and thus better than that on the har gow. Maybe the skin thinned out a little because if was pan-fried? I dunno. The filling was great, the chive really complement the shrimps. Pork siu may - pretty good but not the best I've had. The meat was a touch more on the pink side so it was slightly scary - but I still bravely consumed it anyway. Flavor though was pretty good - it was savory, not overly salty, I got the pork umami flavor and the meat was still juicy. I might get a hint of ginger which I didn't really care for. Overall I really liked what I got. I would definitely go back to try out their other stuff. read more

The lady behind the counter was nice, but I don't know if she over charged me. We ordered - Chicken feet: I think it was about $5.50/lb. Tastes ok. My husband liked it. - Custard buns - 2 XLB since that was all she had left. Dry. No juice in it at all. Total $13. Was the chicken feet really about 2 lbs? Not sure. There were two people in line ahead of us. Ordering was quick and easy and we were lucky enough to grab a seat at the only table inside. They have all of the dim sum faves in steam trays with fresh dim sum coming out of the kitchen. If you're looking to just have dim sum and not the whole experience of hot tea and steam carts coming to your table, Delicious Dim Sum hits the spot. The dumplings were large and filling. At first we thought we didn't order enough, but halfway through we realized we ordered just right. They have sodas and water available too. The wall was lined with a few chairs to eat at if the table was occupied. Cute little small dim sum shop located in Chinatown. This was mine and my boyfriend's first stop once we had finally found parking. The dim sum displayed looked so picture-esque. We stopped by that other super popular place around the corner but they were out of basically everything. We did eventually end up going to that place the next day and as a comparison, Delicious is only slightly not as good as the them. Service is quick, they have a large selection and are friendlier than the other place. They answer questions without making it seem like you're bothering them for trying to buy something.
