I heard about raw marinated crab, and I came to try it. I went there with my gf and we ordered short rib soup, raw crab and bossam. Since we go 2 people, the waitress told us the bossam would be too much for us. It was so nice because they don't want us to waste money or food. The raw crab was extremely good. 40 bucks for 4 crabs, and the crabs were fresh, they also had a lot of roe. The soy sauce was perfect, it was not too salty. Eating them with white rice make me unstoppable. For the short rib soup, it came with 2 large ribs and the glass noodle. It was delicious. In total we pay around $75 + tip. This place is where all the ahjushees and ahjummas go to so expect a homey vibe. The Gamja-tang was delicious as it had a great depth of pork neck bone flavor. The soup was not watery at all and tasted delicious with rice. As for the raw crab (kajang), it did not have that seafood fishy taste since it was fresh. The sauce was not overly salty and I'm really happy that the crab brains were all there. Put that with rice and you have a delicious bite. Really small and local Korean restaurant on the side of the street. I had the signature galbi-tang (beef short rib stew). All flavors of the stew and banchan were decent and left me satisfied but did not blow me away. I think my favorite part was how the stew was served while it was still bubbling. Their menu seems pretty big and extensive, it also seems a bit pricey as well. Ask for some complementary barley tea if you're dining in. TLDR; food was decent. However, this particular restaurant deserves much more! My husband and I visited recently with his dad, sisters, and cousins, as well as their families. His cousins families recently moved here from Korea (about 2 years ago) so you can rest assured that when I say all of the dishes were incredibly delicious and authentic! - Banchan - Literally the best combination of banchans you could have. All very delicious, - Galbi Tang - So flavorful, yet still light and delicious. Huge bones with the most tender, fall off the bone meat you could ask for. - Nengmyun - Literally BURSTING with flavor. I absolutely live for nengmyun and this place seriously has one of the best nengmyun's I've ever had. It would've been absolutely perfect, except that it lacked the pear slices that are REQUIRED for the perfect nengmyun. - Kimchi Jeon - STUFFED with goodness, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. - Yukgaejang - Absolutely delicious! My husband's cousin LOVES yukgaejang but never orders it because it always disappoints her. Luckily, my husband decided to order it this time, and she said it was the best yukgaejang she's had since coming to the U.S. and was so sad she didn't order it for herself. - Octopus Stir Fry - I'm not a huge seafood person, but this was actually really good! The combination of flavors were so delicious that I wasn't even phased by the fact that I was eating octopus. I know there were like two other dishes we tried, but I can't remember what they were. Needless to say, everything we tried was just absolutely delicious. Additionally, the portions were HUGE. We probably had enough food to feed twice as many people - everyone could have split something and been very content. Yesterday, I wanted to eat with my kids, so I ordered a to-go order. It was bossam, agujjim, and galbitang kalguksu. The total price including tax was $138. The bossam and the radish salad seemed to be a too little, so I asked if they could give me a little more, and the old lady said no, they can't give me more because it's kitchen's work. Also I couldn't see the receipt was no ink I showed them, so I asked if it seemed like 1 item was overcharged, and they said it had an OC County tax and put the receipt case As if it's going to break (they were nervously throwing it) I didn't feel good, but I said thank you as I left, but they didn't even say bye Of course, I was going to give them a tip, but I felt bad and just marked it as zero. Quite solid homestyle cooking Korean restaurant. I went cuz I was really hungry and craving for Asian food so I asked my buddy for some authentic Korean restaurant and here it is. I do not eat spicy food so my Korean food selections are very limited. However, we tried: 1) Galbee - It was actually not as salty as I expected, but it was legit. Grilled more like medium rare unlike most places that cooked well done 2) Duk-bulgori (Spicy Pork) - I heard it was alright as its spicy 3) Cold noodle - it was one of the better cold noodle in town. Not too sour (Thank you) and portions are big enough to feed. Side dishes are good but you have to ask them for refills. The place is really quiet which my best guess would be due to the location. A place for Korean soups and stews. Came here for: 1. Yook Geh Jang $9.99 - Which is a spicy soup with shredded beef, bean sprouts, clear noodles, and other vegetables. 2. Chun Gook Jang $8.99 - An aged, fermented soybean paste stew. The odors of this dish will knock you out and I mean literally. Not recommended for first timers. I came to Delicious Table to order marinated crab dish and noticed that they were selling Korean side dishes(ban chan). I picked up few of my favorite dish which are seasoned Skateboard (Hong uh hwe moo chim), Salted fermented squid (O king uh jut), and more. At an another restaurant, small amount of Seasoned Skateboard comes on top of noodle dish so, I usually order the noodle dish just to eat the seasoned Skateboard. Now I can get the 4x amount for less than 1/2 the price of one noodle dish! Been coming here once a week to get several side dishes. It's hard to explain all the dishes they have. Five stars hands down! My girlfriend was looking for Ganjang Gijang (crab marinated in soy sauce) so we found this place and decided to give it a try. We got here at 6pm and parked in the lot behind the restaurant. When we entered the restaurant I noticed we were the only customers which I thought was a little unsettling. Two ladies were preparing boxes of kimchi in the middle of the restaurant. They were both very friendly and I instantly got the feeling of sitting in the kitchen of a close relative! (my girlfriend is Korean). I went to wash my hands and found the restroom spotlessly clean. A great start. She ordered the crab and I ordered the spicy beef (brisket soup). It was most definitely one of the best spicy brisket soups I have ever had. The spice level was perfect. Not crazy that your mouth would be on fire but with a pretty good kick. The banchan (side dishes) were amazing too. I loved the Korean pancake (jeon). Overall an outstanding experience. More diners started trickling in around 6:30ish. Tried the spicy octopus over rice, my favorite dish, but this place doesn't do it justice. The octopus is a little tough and the seasoning is just not quite there. The banchan is OK and we were given soup too. The service is very nice but beware it may be a little difficult to communicate if you have a lot of questions, not a lot of English (but maybe that was just my experience on that night). Would probably not come back for the same dish but maybe I'll come back to try the marinated crab. Not a lot of places sell it and it's definitely an advantage for them! AOK for the OC! 3.5 Stars. I had to try this place. The ratings on yelp were screeming at me. I have never had good experiences at Korean eateries in the OC. I even prefer to drive to Ktown to eat. It is so worth it to me. So, everyone can hate me. Yes, I am just a white boy..but the food was just Ok to me. When Maggie C said she was in the area, I suggested this place. The food all fresh. The service was super nice.. the taste was just non-eventful for me. I had the spicy version of kalgooksoo and the broth just didn't do it for me. The noodle was also way under cooked. No doubt.. the ingrdients were 100% fresh. What stood out here was the banchan and the potato salad (had chunks of fruit) and was hand made by the Mrs. as confirmed by the owner who was helping us. I believe I had three servings of the potato salad banchan. This is one of the better places I have been to in OC, but still prefer Ktown way over this place. And, like I said, am willing to drive for the difference. Oh, one more thing..Parking lot is pretty cramped. However, if you are used to parking in Ktown..the parking here is a 100% improvement. I came here with an empty stomach and big dreams. My friend and I had been craving raw marinated crab for so long and all the reviews on this dish were good, so I had to order it! After placing our order, we got our food right away! I would say it took at most 5 minutes. However, upon first bite, I was slapped across the face with the most unbearable fishy stench. I tried to stomach it and didnt speak up to any server because I didn't want to be disrespectful to a different culture's food, but looking back, I 100% do not think it was supposed to taste like that. With your spoon pour some of your mooguk on the edges and hear it sizzle~~ Let the rice sit for a bit before you mix it all together to create a crispy outer layer of nurungi! This is the only way to enjoy a perfect dolsotbibimbahp! The bf got nengmyun+daejibulgogi combo (cold noodles+spicy pork). Wasnt a big fan of the nengmyun.. but the pork was great. I really like the food at this restaurant. My husband and I have ordered take-out several times, and it did not disappoint. We really like getting the combos and it's more than enough food! The combo is less than $20 and can feed 2 people easily! Their bossam combo with a stew is amazing! It comes with tons of steamed pork and cabbage to wrap. We also tried the chicken bbq combo. When I walked in, my friend had already ordered two dishes for us to share - gamjatang (spicy potato beef stew) and kalgooksoo (a non-spicy noodle soup dish). I've never had either of these dishes before so I have no mode of comparison, but all I have to say is that they really hit the spot. The gamjatang was a little too strong because of the sesame leaves, but they really hooked up the beef in this dish! And boy oh boy, I have been missing out with the kalgooksoo hand-cut noodles! Don't let the looks fool ya! On the outside, the lower parts of the wall are covered with cheesy posters of food. The windows above, while tinted, are covered in graffiti etched into the glass.
