I was craving some boodaejjigae and this place hit the spot! If you like Korean food and want something different from Korean BBQ, check out this place! It has a "typical" Korean restaurant feel to it: don't expect the nicest ambiance or the friendliest waitresses. I loved the flavors and options on the stew. The only reason I'm taking one star off is because it was pretty pricey for the two of us. $32.99 without tax. However, we did have about half a bowl left over so technically it should be about 2 meals for us. It's not crowded at all so it should be no wait. The name of the restaurant is not literally "Delicious Table", it's that translated into Korean. If you're going west on Commonwealth towards Beach, it's on the right side right before the intersection. I found this place via Yelp on my way home. I had no idea that there's a pocket Korean community right here in BP. Yes, sometimes I live u see a rock. Anyway, I was looking for JapChae. I went inside; the place was virtually empty. Only two tables occupied by 4 Korean men each. Good sign, I think. I ordered JapChae from the hostess..to-go. When I got home, I unpacked the bag. A large clamshell of the noodles and what's this? A clamshell of ban chan, small container of rice and a small container of soup. Did I mention they packed chopsticks and a complete Korean newspaper? Everything was yummy; the neat was a little sweet but overall a pleasant surprise for $15. My wife saw a picture of gamjatang from this restaurant on Yelp last week. It's been a while we went to this restaurant, but we decided to try again. Side dishes were OK, Gamjatang was so so(my wife didn't like it though), the dish I ordered was awful. It had some kind of weird stinky smell. The food was good, but wayyy overpriced. If you're okay with paying $18.99 for pork belly and kimchi- this is the place for you. You'll really love that you have to search through mountains of kimchi to find the pork. Half the time were were like, "did you get some?" "I'm not sure..." "Is that pork or kimchi?" The pieces that we did have were good, but for $18.99 I could have stuffed myself silly at a KBBQ joint around the corner. The BBQ beef wasn't barbequed, it tasted boiled. You expect to see at least a couple of char marks. Nope, it tasted like boiled meat- because that's what it was and it definitely lacked flavor. The soup (Yuk Gae Jang) was really spicy. My white genes came out and I had to add a ton of white rice to be able to eat it. I didn't mind- it was probably one of the reasons I was full at the end. Service isn't great. We had to constantly flag down our server. Even then, they sat with their friends at other tables most of the time and continued to ignore us. There are so many other great Korean restaurants in the area, I'd go with those first. Based off all of the other stellar reviews, maybe we ordered the wrong things? Delicious table lives up to it's name. I would have never found this place even though it's super close to my house. Thanks again, Yelp! My bf and I strolled in at about 8:30 and like other reviews have said, this place is very neat and tidy. I kept scoping the menu for the kimchi rice, but I couldn't find it so I settled on rice with beef, veggies, and kimchi in a stone pot. My bf ordered the kimchi stew. They give you a generous amount of sides which are all delicious. They were also super nice about refills. When they asked us if we wanted more of anything, even though we only requested kimchi, they went ahead and gave us more of everything. Great service! My rice dish was tasty, but I wish it had less perilla leaves in it. Other than that, it was very delish. My bf's stew seemed teeny, but with all the sides and rice that comes with the meal, it ended up being very filling. Another great Korean spot in the OC I can add to my list. This is place has great beef rib soup and their banchan (Korean side dishes) are some of the tastiest I've had in the neighborhood. Many Korean restaurants often overlook their banchan, which is complimentary to every meal and in most cases, they often take short cuts because of that fact they give it out for free. Not so with this establishment. Delicious Table's banchan is very tasty and definitely compliments their main dishes. The overall taste of this restaurant has that "home style" feel like something your grandmother would make--if your grandmother was Korean. Their crabs dipped in soy sauce plate was also very delicious and fulfilling. The prices are moderate and cheaper than some of the other similar Korean restaurants in the area. Delicious Table was SALTILICOUS!!! I am disappointed just as much as you might be disappointed in me giving this place 3 stars (a very generous 3 stars I might add). The restaurant is not big but very clean. The lady that greeted us was friendly. A lot of the menu items were in Korean, so I could only look up the ones with English subtitles since the server lady was not very fluent in English. I opted for #14 because it seemed like a safe choice. It was a combo of BBQ Beef with Tofu Bean Paste Soup. For $21.99, it was pricey. There was a HUGE plate of veggies to wrap the beef with and lots of banchans. The beef was not tender but tough and dry. The Tofu Bean Paste Soup was VERY salty. In fact, EVERYTHING was very salty. Half way through the meal, my fiance and I were both on salt overload! Maybe I didn't order what the restaurant is famous for or good for. But I'd still expect some good Bulgogi from any Korean restaurant. Although service was friendly, it was not very attentive. I came here last night to eat some ddeok mandoo gook(rice cake with dumpling soup). It was $8.99 and they gave 5 dumplings with some rice cake. The portion was mediocre and the side dishes weren't bad at all. The taste of the dumplings were very good with that light kick of sesame oil. I also ordered the pork belly with kimchi and tofu for $18.99. This is where I was disappointed and decided to drop them 2 stars. I asked the waitress if they put a lot of pork into the dish.. she replied, "I've never tried it, so I don't know". I'm pretty sure she's served tables where she can eyeball the portions and know whether they're stingy with the pork or not.. lol. She then told me to order it and that she'd tell the cook so add extra, so I did. The pork dish comes out and it tastes good, but I can make it better at home(haha). The pork belly was sliced into THIN little pieces... I was very disappointed. I could hardly taste it and tasted lots of pepper paste and kimchi. Great place. NorCal Korean restaurants can't hold a candle to what you get down South. We had the Octopus (Nakji Boekum), and it was SPICY! The octopus was tenderer than I have ever been served in a restaurant... not a bit of rubberiness. Very thick and flavorful sauce, tons of veggies... great! We had two kinds of iron-pot rice (tolsot bibimbap): the standard kimchee flavor, and another one called "mountain vegetable" (sanchae tolsot). They were both so different tasting from each other, one was sour-soy-savory, and the other had a very pleasing earthiness. We had bulgogi, which was good, and also had sujebi, which is a seafood broth with home-made, rustic dumplings... something like very large spaetzle. This is usually a home-cooked meal, so it was a treat to find it in a restaurant. Very, very nice. The service was fast, to the point, and personable. read more

I'm shocked at all the good reviews this place has. My parents have a business nearby so I've eaten here plenty and have never been impressed by their food and service. There was nothing great to go back here for. My parents get Korean food togo for lunch almost everyday from nearby Korean restaurants and have long taken this one off the rotation.. Eventhough it's the closest and most convenient for them! My one star rating is due to how unsanitary this place is. I drove by the other day and one of the ladies was making kimchee outside in the parking lot.. At night with no lighting with all sorts of who knows what flying around.. And with cars and the nasty fumes constantly driving by! She had everything spread out on the concrete without any form of protection of the food from bugs and car pollution. I felt sick to my stomach thinking of eating that kimchee so felt compelled to write a review despite not having eaten here in a while. read more

After Disneyland with the kids and we decided to grab some Korean food on the way home. Like always, we were yelping and Delicious table popped up. Seriously, don't let the looks fool you! It's pretty hidden and the parking lot was pretty dark, there is a little back door you can enter from the back parking lot. We walked in and it was pretty crowded but we didn't wait too long, I want to say about 10-15 minutes. We got seated and that was the start of seriously one of the best service we received from a Korean restaurants! The staffs were constantly checking up on us and our kids if we needed anything, very welcoming. I felt like I came home...the owners were chit chatting with us making sure we were happy with our food and had enough banchan. Food wise, really good. Exploding with good Korean flavor. Kimchi Tofu Pork: it was $18.99, we ate about half and took the rest home. It's a pretty good portion. I think it is decently priced compared to the potion you get. Very good authentic Korean dishes. Side dishes were delicious. Their ganjang gejang (5 stars) was delicious! The san-che (wild vegetable) bibimbap was rather, just regualr veggie bibimbap (3 stars). Their spicy nakji dolsot bibimbap (5 stars) was really good-- nakji is fresh and juicy, the best I had so far. The bajirak kalgooksoo was 3 stars-- there were extra clams but the noodle lacked flavors. The service is good as well. They have so much items on menu. I don't see myself come back with hubby but this is a place I would come back with in-laws. read more

Decent place for Korean food. My friends and I (group of 7) ordered the kimchi porkbelly, bossam (forgot the english translation), and the octopus stirfry. Each dish was enough to serve 2 people. Side dishes were a-ok; the tangerines in the potato salad were sour. Nothing particularly stood out. I think I wasn't impressed because the dishes were more on the pricier side (18.99+). My friends were also confused why there weren't any oysters in the bossam kimchi even though the menu said that there were. Unless they finely grinded in tasteless oysters there was not a single one to be found. That definitely makes the price unjustifiable. This is one of the few Korean restaurants with friendliest and most gracious service I've ever been to. After reading reviews on yelp, I knew what I wanted. Pork and potato stew and Crab with soy sauce. BF and I were enjoying the super tender and savory stew when I realized the mistake I made when a platter of raw crab was placed in our table. I turned the exact shade of blue as the crab in front of me. I don't do raw crab and neither does my bf. I was busy racking my brain to come up with suggestions as to "re-cook" it but to no avail. The sauce on crab will ruin its taste. Thankfully, a friend, who happened to be in the restaurant was able to convince the owner to remove the raw crab and ordered another cooked dish for us. Whew. We continued to enjoy our stew and simultaneous gush about how lucky we were to have our friend there that night when a perfectly grilled fish was brought out. Oh my. It was so delicious. Perfectly seasoned, moist yet firm. I couldn't decide which was better, the pork stew or the grilled fish. Both dishes were that good. The rest of our meal was just pure bliss. Our waitress was very attentive and polite despite the misunderstanding and the restaurant owner came to our table several times to make sure we were happy with our meal. Considering the raving reviews about this place, I keep wondering if they were having an off day -- or maybe an off Sunday evening? My boyfriend and I chanced upon this place after driving around aimlessly in an attempt to find a restaurant that would satisfy our taste buds. 15 mins later and a lot of Yelping brought us to this place -- Delicious Table. The restaurant was pretty easy to locate (although it might not be for all -- the sign is written in Korean) and the private lot allowed for quick and easy parking. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the ahjumma there who was slick about slipping a fork next to my place setting. Props to her, but I'm quite capable with chopsticks. The menu is pretty extensive so we decided to stray away from the KBBQ and try some of the dishes. My inherent theory is that you can always judge a place by basic dishes. Granted, I am a tough grader when it comes to Korean food since nothing usually comes close to the deliciousness I had in Korea but I still give good restaurants a fighting chance. I ordered the dduk bok ki hoping to get something spicy, awesome, and delicious. Hours watching Korean dramas will do this to you. ;x But sadly, I was presented with watered down, slightly sweet, odd flavored dduk bok ki with spam instead of fish cakes? What? WHY? Fish cakes are the best part! Regardless, I found myself digging into my boyfriends dish while pushing my aside. The boyfriend order kong bi ji which was edible. We both agreed that it was okay. Nothing I'd ever want to order again there and yet worlds better than the dduk bok ki I ordered. The banchans were a disappointment as well. Anyone who knows me is fully acquainted with my love of kong na mool. I can make a meal out of it I tell you! That being said, I barely touched the kong na mool here. It was tasteless, soggy, and tasted as if it had been sitting around. In fact, all the banchans there did. I found myself skimming the chap jae to get rid of the hard noodles on top -- not a good sign. As much as I wanted to enjoy this place, I will not be coming back. Came here on Thanksgiving. Read all the good reviews and decided to give it a try. No customer was there when we arrived. Was served pretty fast and so we ordered the Gamjatang and Beef Rib soup. Gamjatang: big chunks of meat. There were some potatoes in it but the flavor was off. It was very bland. But I would say it was pretty cheap (I believe it was about $13) because from many places I've been, the price range for Gamjatang is usually above $20. Beef rib soup: same thing. Big chunks of meat and there was noodles in it. Again, very bland to the point that there was no flavor at all. Very dissapointed because especially on a cold night, you want something warm and comforting. Maybe it was because there was no customer at all at that time that they forgot to put salt in it? Maybe. Besides the rice we didnt even know what we were eating!! Were not korean but we love to try new things. Althought i've had bulgogi and galbi and kimchi nothing like this..!! Loved the egg and potato and weird white jelly side dishes. I'm not a fan of kimchi or beansprouts so I couldn't tell if those were any special. I got the BBQ chicken and it was SO flavorful. The bean paste soup was AWESOME! it was a little bit salty though but it had a lot of tofu and it was good .. I usually don't eat rice but this soup made me eat 1/2 of the bowl! This is a hole-in-the-wall place, not the nicest looking, but the octopus in hot stone pot dish is really good, and a good deal compared to other places. The chili paste in it is not too hot, medium, much less than jalapeños. I order it almost every time I go. Service is good too.
