Delta encourages customers to leave a rating. I don't know why as it is not to their benefit. We purchased plumbing fixtures from Home Depot and asked that they be installed. Home Depot has Delta under contract. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We scheduled a appointment. We received a reminder email, looking good so far[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We wait for Delta and about an hour before their scheduled time they call to cancel and reschedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are not happy but okay, things happen. The plumber shows up on the new date and time and performs the necessary work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We have a dispute over one of the faucets which Delta says was not included in the order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Home Depot comes out and installs it. After he leaves we notice that it is leaking. Home Depot schedules Delta to come out to fix it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Time warp, they send us an email to remind us of the appointment and an hour before they are to appear, they call and cancel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once again Home Depot comes out to fix it. I do not know why Home Depot has this company under contract when they have to send their own people out to get the job done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you like being treated like a customer who doesn't matter then this is they company for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Other than that, find a good plumber first and then just purchase what you need. I contracted them through Home Depot to install a kitchen faucet with sprayer. They installed the lever on the wrong side and would not drill a hole for the sprayer. I asked why and they said they are not plumbers. read more

Worst company. Installed a tankless water heater and sprayed a filler all over the walls, ceiling, and stucco. Removed the existing vent for the gas and placed rags in the hole. When the plumber left I said you are not leaving it like that right, he said no because it wouldn't pass inspection. I called Home Depot's "Need help fast?" number because I had water under my heater, assumed that meant I needed a new water heater, and needed urgent help. That number goes straight to Delta Mechanical, presented as Home Depot's installer and "100% backed." Delta's own paperwork, and what all legitimate licensed contractors are required by law to do, says they will inspect the area, install the equipment, and test the unit before leaving. Th[[HIGHLIGHT]]ey did not. The wall behind the heater was soaked, they mounted an expansion tank into that wet wall (it fell out the next day), never came inside to run water or clear the lines, did not actually test anything, and left. Soon after, there was water under the new[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]heater again. I repeatedly called and texted Delta asking what to do. They never helped me, and the visit they finally scheduled was a no-show. I had no choice but to hire another licensed plumbing company to protect my home. They even brought another water heater in case the [[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]n[[HIGHLIGHT]]ew one had failed, but after inspecting everything they found and repaired a leak in the wall and told me the water heater itself didn't need [[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]to be replaced, which is what any reputable vendor would do. In total, I paid about $1,100 for the original installation with Delta/Home Depot and another $788 to the second plumber just to end up with one proper installation. Home Depot then told me my labor warranty was void because I had called someone else. Now Home Depot and Delta are trying to spin this as "just a wall leak" instead of admitting the installer never did the required inspection or testing. Home Depot's response was an insulting $500 offer tied to a legal agreement telling me not to talk about this or leave bad reviews, which I refused so I could warn other customers. With several hundred bad reviews (263 on Yelp alone) and BBB complaints about Delta, it is reckless and irresponsible for Home Depot to keep sending customers to this repeat offender. read more

I shopped for a new 40 gal gas water heater from Home Depot. My current one was 13 years old and was starting to show signs of its age. I was also interested in professional installation, and so was referred to Arizona Delta Mechanical. They were quick to respond (within an hour), emailed me a firm quote, and offered installation for the next day -- very responsive and professional customer service. Unfortunately, that same day I incurred a major household expense and had to put off installation of the new water heater. I contacted Delta Mechanical over 2 months later to follow up. My water heater had just started to leak. They quickly pulled up their quote to me from the previous July, honored it, and said that they could have someone there in a couple of hours (he was finishing up another job). I booked the appointment, and shortly after they sent me a link via text message and email to track the progress of their technician towards my house. The service technician, Jordan, arrived with the hot water heater and associated fittings 20 minutes early, which I was made aware of 30 minutes in advance of his arrival (very nice). The installation had some hiccups, but the technician was able to quickly resolve the issues. For example, the shut-off valve to my old water heater would not completely stop the water flow, nor would the valve where the water entered the house from the street (they were both the same type of valves - multi-turn stop and waste valves). Jordan had to dig up access to the shut-off valve at the street, and quickly shut the water off to the house. I asked Jordan if he had a ball valve to replace the defective valve at the heater. He did and welded the new one on for $65, a reasonable value for parts and labor. Also, after some discussion about the Rheem water heater that I had chosen, I asked if it would be possible to upgrade to the next-best version. There was a Home Depot store not too far away and he verified that they had the desired upgrade in stock. He then drove to the store, exchanged the heater for the upgraded model, and had the installation done in less than an hour -- and only charged me for the difference in the price of the two heaters. Delta Mechanical was timely, competent, customer oriented, and their rates were reasonable. And the service technician, Jordan, represented the company in a most professional manner. As a fun new stress point, a week before our annual Summer European vacation, our home water heater gave up the ghost. I have 3 young daughters and a wife who LOVE their long showers and frequent laundry. Suddenly we needed to scramble to get our clothes and selves clean for our travel. Coming home, I knew it was a problem that needed immediate solving. I went to Home Depot and wandered down the water heater aisle. After finding absolutely NO help from the workers at HD, I was frustrated and finally scanned the QR code plastered all over the aisle and called HD's service center. I was re-directed via my zip code to Delta Mechanical Inc. and am incredibly grateful for that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spoke with one of their patient reps, asked too many boneheaded questions and finally settled on an upgrade from a 40gal tank to a new 50gal tank.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I bought the Rheem Platinum level so I could have a 12 year warranty on parts, and 3 on Labor... then upgraded the labor warranty by 5 years to a total of 8 for only an additional $75... Seems like for the cost of ONE hour of onsite labor, I could cover 5 YEARS of labor should be a no-brainer for most people. The VERY NEXT DAY, my technician Tsvetan Vasilev showed up to my house, (actually an hour earlier than his scheduled window). "Stephen" as he likes to be called, was amazing and I'm immensely grateful that he was my installer. He was cordial, happy and very helpful. Stephen got straight to work and was fully focused on his excellent work. Every step was efficient and despite my many times offering to help or lift something, he was able to do the entire job by himself. He fixed and replaced parts methodically and purposefully. All trash was quickly policed and you could tell he was competent as he knew immediately which tools he needed and where they were. There was at no time any wasted effort or time spent sitting around. Stephen worked so quickly and hard that he showed up dry and clean, and left soaking with sweat. (I offered him many times a drink but he would only reluctantly accept a bottle of water.) Stephen worked for over 2 hours non-stop and had my old water heater out and new one in without spilling one drop of water inside my garage. He replaced lines with brand new piping instead of re-using potentially useable old existing parts. I felt fully vindicated in paying for the exorbitant line item prices for the pieces of gear Delta charged me. Stephen knew just what parts, glues and pieces to use to efficiently and effectively secure this essential part of my house's infrastructure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was pleasant and accommodating the entire time. Indulging my silly questions and explaining the functionality to me afterward[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I would not hesitate to recommend this process to anyone needing to replace their water heater. I can't really recommend them. We bought a water heater through Home Depot and somehow we got sent to them for the purchase. Now a few months later the heating element went out. We bought their extended warranty and they are going to honor it. However, they don't have anyone to service our water heater in Prescott. They are in Phoenix. They have a local guy, but he is out on medical don't know when he is coming back. They have a guy for phone help, but he is out too. If they are selling warranties, they should staff for demand or not take our money. We're going to be at least 3 days without hot water. read more

Decided to replace still functioning 17 year old developer-installed hot water heater. Received a flier in the mail from Home Depot offering zero interest for 18 months on the cost of replacing the hot water heater so we decided to go ahead and replace it due to its age. Filled out form on HD website and was quickly contacted by Delta and appointment was set for the following Saturday between 12 and 4. No one showed up, no one called, texted or emailed. The following Monday, I get a call from a service technician (not the office with an apology or to set a new appointment date/time) telling me that he would be installing my water heater later that day. I told him that I was cancelling since I had been stood up on Saturday and that I would be using someone else. We are in an era of poor customer service. Unless more people turn away from poor customer service, this will never change. I'm just glad we have options since this wasn't home warranty or hot water heater warranty work. read more
